Spring is thawing you out...!!!! Frost is bad for our older boses... 🥶🥶🥶😎 Glad to hear you're still thinking about being in the shop, V blocks are often your best friends when it comes to workholding rounded pieces, guess how I learned a long time ago...
Hey Pierre!! Things have warmed up a bit and hope same with you now. Ever hopeful of more shop time but still awful limited for how long I can manage. Take care and ATB old buddy :)
Hi Chris, good to see your smiling face. You've still got it buddy. Those spacers look like they will work perfectly. I think the small band saws are often under utilized and with a little ingenuity can be a quick and inexpensive way to get a job done.
Hello Chris...funny, I thought how is going to hold that small part in the saw....then I see the plate and you mention my video...glad it worked for you.....fun to see you while I have my breakfast and wishing you best health.....
Gday Chris, welcome back, great to see you out in the shop enjoying yourself again, I have a power hacksaw and I’ve never thought about making a fixture plate like yours before, that’s a brilliant idea, your 3D printer looks great, one day I may have one, just to play with, I think it would be great for prototype works before you moo out a buy stock for the lathe, take away the guess work in a sense, anyway it’s awesome to see your looking well, please stay safe and take care, Cheers Matty
Hi Matty - thank you. The fixture plate may not be needed often but it can come in handy. The 3D printer is a lot of fun and may help keep me out of mischief! ATB :)
I’m glad to see you out and doing something, even if it is just a small job! I feel much better after I go out and work in the shop for as long as my back will take it. Some days are better than others! I haven’t been filming lately, I really should start videoing again.e
Hi Gary - thanks. Lockdown seems the name of the game in these crazy times. May be a chance for many folks to sneak into the shop! Stay safe and all best. :)
Hi Chris. Nice to see you again. We in France are struggling hard with the virus since 3 weeeks. Most of the people have to stay at home. This is the opportunity to work on my projects.... At leat one positiv aspect ... 😀 keep safe and greetings from France Laurent
That's the spirit! Yesterday I made a double goose neck stand with c-clamps at the ends to hold a set of 1" & 2" micrometers (or whatever I need maybe). I'd been putting it off for a while, but I thought I'd use this time constructively. Greetings from USA. Hoping we can all pull through.
I am pleased to see and hear you again, Chris. I'm also not in the shop these days. As the weather continues to warm, I'm going to give it a try again.
Happy to see you back Chris! I hope you are doing well and are able to get back into your shop were I know you want to be and are happy making things! Stay well and thanks for all your videos over the years!
I don't know how many times I needed to cut a short piece in the band saw and couldn't do it to short. Now I have another way around the problem. Thanks. Welcome back!
Hey Chris good to see you back at it. I got one of those 5C collet chucks. Took it apart and fine tuned it by deburring here and there including smoothing up the gear teeth. use it a lot now. Cheers. take good care. Bill
Hello Chris , Blimey have you been missed!!. My wife and I know the problems you have had not the least of them being the weather, great to see you back. Main thing! stay well Kind Regards Mike , from Cornwall UK
Thank you Mike - yes, been a while since any new videos. Old back still unfortunately still a major limiting factor. Will soldier on regardless best I can, including dodging weather! ATB :)
Glad to see you out in the shop Chris!. We are doing well here in Ohio. Nice quick project to welcome in spring, for sure. I was using my horizontal bandsaw today as well, project vid in the works. I think you are going to have a lot of fun with that 3D printer. What a wonderful gift! Cheers, my friend. :-)
Hi Dale -- glad it's warming up though way too darned wet. The printer is a great machine and hope to get practice with it and also try and resurrect my CAD skills to design some gadgets. Best. :)
Good to see you out and about Chris. I need one of those adapters for the band saw. Looks like an adjustable parallel could have been used to support the work so it didn't slip in the clamp. Enjoyed, cheers and stay healthy!
Welcome back old man, glad to see you up and about, I've been down for a few months, but I'm feeling better. Wouldn't you know it, but just as I'm getting back to work, they close the schools for 4 weeks, but I'm feeling pretty good and plan to spend the next few weeks making up for lost shop time. Take care, stay well and, I look forward to your next video.
Good to see you back, Chris. Thanks for remembering us and keep safe. Gov just issued stay-at-home orders for Indiana, so I hope to get some shop time, too, now that it's warming up a bit.
Hey Chris! So good to see you again, even it it's only for a few minutes. I need to make one of those little fixtures myself as it would certainly come in handy once in awhile. All the best to you and yours!
Chris! Good to see and hear from you again, glad you were able to make a bit of shop time, amid the craziness and back ailments. I've seen various strategies for holding small stock in the band saw and I like yours best out of the designs seen so far . . . might have to pilfer another one of your gadget ideas!
Thank you Jerry - my best wishes back to you and yours. I hope one day to get back, that's for sure, but have yet to find a solution to the old back. You never know! ATB.
Hey Chris. Glad to see you are still on the green side of the grass. I haven't made a video in quite some time. Primarily due to my lousy provider. It was taking me between 24 and 48 hours just to upload a 30 minute video. Just switched to Hughes Net so will try again soon....I hope. Stay safe.
Hi Dave! Yes, still just above the surface! Your bandwidth sounds awful - hope you can get something faster eventually though not sure Hughes will be quite fast enough, though at least better. I am lucky - I can upload a 30 min (maybe as big as 1 GB) in about 30 mins - I am lucky though at a price! Take care.
G'day Chris and greetings from Tasmania Australia, I didn't know that you were still on RUclips and I am really pleased to see you again. How's you hip last time it was just starting to get better, I have had mine done and my two knees due to rheumatoid arthritis, I have a few things wrong with me so I'm not in great health but like you I still like getting in the workshop I am racked with chronic pain so things aren't rushed. I have subscribed again and once again great to see you Chris look forward to watching kind regards John
Hi John! Good to see you and sorry you have the problems - as we always say 'age sucks'. My hip job came out very well and I count my blessings that I can get around better - that said the old back pretty much keeps me out of the shop although as ever I still hope to manage some new material one day... just can't stand for too long. Thanks again for dropping by and take care.
Hi - I'm still here but ....... let's say ''age issues'' limit me these days - mostly my back deterioration. Can't manage much time in the shop and sort of lost momentum too. Never know - I may manage at some point to muster something, but thanks for the comment - it's appreciated. :)
Hi Chris. You are English? Where from buddy? I'm making a video right now for you.... I have some allooominum too 😉 I'll try to get it up this weekend. All fun.

Hi Tom - thanks. Just muddling along, as old fellas do :) Hope all is good with you.
I was hoping your back might be getting a bit better while resting during the winter. So glad to see ya' out in your shop. You take care.
Hi James - thank you. Well, rest always helps but not in a curative sense so, still rather limited. Haven't given up yet! ATB
Nice to see you Chris.

I am pleased to see and hear you again, Chris. I'm also not in the shop these days. As the weather continues to warm, I'm going to give it a try again.
