We spent a week with Ms. Gina Davis( both our kids were in the hospital and she was in the room next to us.) So we got to meet her and spend some time with her. We never ask for autographs or ask to take pics of her and never even told anyone until we both left the hospital. I told her that my wife and I grew up watch her movies but after that week that I can’t see her as Gina Davis the movie start but as Gina Davis the mom. She spent almost the whole week there and didn’t leave and when she came out to ask if I could bring my daughter service dog in to see her son, she didn’t even have makeup on. She was really nice and concern about my daughter. My wife and her got along really well. I think it was nice for Ms Davis to have someone to talk too. He then husband and I got along great, he was a doctor at the hospital. Really pleasant family. Funny thing(maybe sad, realized my age at this point)is that all the young nurses didn’t know who she was. My daughter didn’t know either, she just said “you mean that really nice lady”. Anyway pleasant memory for us, Ms. Davis even knitted a few some things for my daughter as that is how she past the time in the hospital.

Unfortunately only the first 2 seasons were shown on TV. As a side note I think it would have been more fitting to see Angelica Houston play Lydia's mom. In the original script Lydia has a younger sibling with psychic abilities who helps defeat the winged demon, Beetlejuice. The resurrection scene when Ottho is reading from the handbook contained passages to destroy him for good. I think if this film ever gets a reboot they should go with the original script.

I just realized that you posted this video on my birthday! lol This was is one of my most favorite movies, ever. I also LOVED the cartoon show. I loved that the DVD for the movie comes with like 5 or 6 episodes of the show in the special features. But I thought this movie was the greatest, and I showed this to my friend's son when he was about 4 or 5 and HE loved it, too. I was so proud haha Love your videos, man. Keep up the good work. I just love it!
Also, in Beetlejuice the animated series, Lydia's parents, Charles & Delia, know NOTHING about Beetlejuice, whereas in the movie, they learned of his "existence" when Lydia summoned him during a seance led by Otho, who was attempting to rid the house of the ghosts of the Maitlands
I wish that scene of them hanging out the window in the sandworm dimension was kept in the movie, because they look out the window it's clear they can see the outside world but then once they hang in the window frame I was thinking "wait can't they just escape though the window? what's the range on this sandworm portal?" and it's maddening to know they had a scene made to answer my question and even finished the CGI for it but still cut it from the movie, the movie''s only 132 minutes it's not a 3 hour marvel movie
This video is Marvellous, Marvellous, Marvellous! 😍 I saw "Beetlejuice", for the first time last week, and positively adored it. Keaton is barely recognisable underneath all the garish make-up, and Winona is a true icon! 🕸️🕷️

Hey Minty! They get his green hair look yellow because he's always on a blue spotlight... blue + green = yellow? heh Thanks for all your movies analysis, loved them! Cheers from Argentina!
I think that beetlejuice not being in much of the movie helped enhance the mystery around him. The thing I loved about the movie was that there were so many interesting characters, ghosts and monsters that made me so curious about the beetlejuice universe
A classic indeed, even though I didn't care for it originally, but I was just out of high school when it came out and not a fan of horror or horror comedy, but when I rewatched it years later, I loved it!!! Not sure about the hair myself, but I've always thought of it as green and the alternative world could have been explained better in my opinion. Thanks, as always for the inside look.
My Mom always made quilts for the grandkids as they arrived in the family. Our daughter arrived in 1993. Mom was a product of the depression era America that bought stuff that was in a sales bin or discount rack. Someplace she found some fleece material on sale that had a "cute" cartoon person on kit. She made a small baby quilt with it. I told her it was Beetlejuice and never really went into any detail. Mom has been gone 20 years and this remains a family treasure to my daughter.
@@Ididnotwanttojoin I know. But the film was only named _Beetlejuice_ once not-literally animated Michael Keaton as the titular undead sleaze Betelgeuse (his name is only spelled the other way for phonetic & marketing reasons) & sullenly suicidal AKA emo outcast turned perky goth Lydia Deetz portrayed effortlessly by "strange & unsual" Winona Ryder at just age 16 essentially sole the breakthrough scenes away from Alec Baldwin & Geena Davis's admittedly dullard, deadbeat ghostly couple The Maitlands, meanwhile Lydia's nuerotic father Charles (played by IRL sex offender Jeffrey Jones), Lydia's eccentric stepmother Delia (played by Catherine O'Hara [aka Kevin McCallister's mom in the first 2 - and best - _Home Alone_ movies]) & Otho (played by Glen Shadix), the interior fashion designer who dabbled in the occult on the side, chewed the scenery as secondary filler.
@@Ididnotwanttojoin He was too (for this film, anyway). Outside of "Noni" (as her friends used to call her back then) as teen outcast misfit Lydia, her trendy parents & their partner-in-crime/fashion designer/interior decorator/brief occultist dabbler Otho were all basically side plot characters until the final moments of the actual movie involving the climatic séance/almost-wedding/Barbara riding a sandworm to send BJ back to the Neitherworld waiting room scenes, given that the bulk of the film focused on The Maitlands troubles with being dead & failing to scare the Deetz's away ("My father never walks away from equity" as Lydia bluntly informs the undead couple) before calling upon the sleazy freelance bio-exorcist (who falsely claimed to be capable of getting rid of the living taking up residence in haunted houses inhabited by their ghostly former owners) & never returning him from whence he came once he was set loose.

When there's no room in Hell... the dead will dance to Harry Belafonte! Semi-seriously, though: Am I the only one in the world who got the hints from this movie that there's a housing shortage in the Afterlife? Think about it: afterlife social services are backed up so long they have you spending 3 months in their waiting room, only to find you've been set up to haunt your old house for 125 years before moving on? Juno (and formerly Beetlejuice) are working with the afterlife equivalent of the housing authority to try to mitigate this, but basically, yeah, the afterlife's full and they have a housing shortage!

Did you know that if you say Minty's name three times, he shows up to talk about one of his collectables.
I just realized that you posted this video on my birthday! lol
This was is one of my most favorite movies, ever. I also LOVED the cartoon show. I loved that the DVD for the movie comes with like 5 or 6 episodes of the show in the special features.
But I thought this movie was the greatest, and I showed this to my friend's son when he was about 4 or 5 and HE loved it, too. I was so proud haha
Love your videos, man. Keep up the good work. I just love it!
It’s simple.. NOTHING compares to the 80s! Classic 💎
I remember when I finally bought this movie on DVD; I watched it twice. It felt like a long quest was done for me.
I'm glad it turned out as it did. Every choice ended up being the best one, in my opinion, especially Burton and Keaton.
Wow girl. U JUST saw the movie last week?? Lol. U have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to some cult classics. Stick with us kid and we will be sure to hook ya up with what to watch 🙃😉🙂
Fantastic film. Great video. Thanks.
I remember going to see this at the theater. I’m THAT old.
this film is an absolute masterpiece and even though I adore Anjelica Huston I'm glad it was Catherine O'Hara. She is iconic in this
Hey Minty! They get his green hair look yellow because he's always on a blue spotlight... blue + green = yellow? heh Thanks for all your movies analysis, loved them! Cheers from Argentina!
Yeah his hair is green it was the lighting that made it look blond.
In the cartoons his hair was blonde.
Wouldn't the hair color be called "Bleen" as Kelly Bundy would say.
I think that beetlejuice not being in much of the movie helped enhance the mystery around him. The thing I loved about the movie was that there were so many interesting characters, ghosts and monsters that made me so curious about the beetlejuice universe
Yes I hope they will expand the beetleverse more in the sequel movie!
Thanks Minty, this is one of my fav Tim Burton films ❤️❤️❤️
One of my true favorites!!!♡
One thing you didn’t know is that beetlejuice became mayor of Chicago
A classic indeed, even though I didn't care for it originally, but I was just out of high school when it came out and not a fan of horror or horror comedy, but when I rewatched it years later, I loved it!!! Not sure about the hair myself, but I've always thought of it as green and the alternative world could have been explained better in my opinion. Thanks, as always for the inside look.
Oh the movie not the mayor of Chicago
🤣🤣🤣you beat me too it
say the name 3 times she might crawl out of her pit and haunt you
StarStarbreez As long as it gets her out of Chicago before it becomes hell...oh wait...to late
My favorite as a kid. Love the 80’s early 90’s nostalgia 🖤🖤
Same n I still love it like a kid still lol😄
Hands down my FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME!! I wore out two cassette tapes of the soundtrack and then got the cd version. It was amazing!!
Finding the chicago mayor to have time for this years ago, must of been difficult.
#3 - I'm glad you mentioned this, because for many years I didn't even know about the movie until the late 90s.
I think Burton suggested ”Scared shitless”, so Beetlejuice would’t sound so bad and to make them back off.
Oh yes, I recall hearing about that. Burton was reportedly horrified when the studio seriously considered using that title! 😂
@@Ididnotwanttojoin But dumb puns work well with the franchise. See the animated series for living (and dead) proof of that.
I love the soundtrack of this movie, so much so that I added Harry Bellafonte's Day-O and Shake Senora to my son's Playlist. He is 8 months old and they are his favorite songs. He can't get enough of those songs in particular.
"Attention K-Mart shoppers...!"
"Welcome to Winter River! Museum of national greed! A monument to the bored businessman! Step right up! Test your strength!"
People watching this in the future aren't going to have any damn clue what K-Mart is.
@@Thornbloom yeah sadly they closed the last Kmart beginning of this year.
@@IffyJottere Changed to Peaceful Pines in the cartoon.
nice fucking model
This was my favorite movie as a kid. I've watched it hundreds of times.
I'm so happy to see somebody finally talk about the animated series! It had great animation and I LOVED it. Just the clips you showed of the opening sequence are stellar.
BeetleJuice is one of my FAVORITES!! thanks for making this!
I remember watching the animated series as a teenager I don't know why I enjoyed it so much especially at my age but I never missed a episode
I would love to see a remake of Beetlejuice done like a full on horror like A Nightmare on Elm Street
#1 Beetlejuice is now mayor of Chicago.
I thought it was the shrunken head guy
I remember watching the animated Beetlejuice. I remember also loving the movie as a kid. Glad to know I wasn't the only weird kiddo around. My parents couldn't figure out why I like it so much. I didn't even know why I like it.
"Am I the only one--"
"No."
"But I didn't finish."
"It doesn't matter. The answer is always no."
Hey even in the afterlife you can't get away from Paperwork!
At least they didn't die in Italy.. Or Mesopotamia! Those lines must be longer than the Euphrates!
Well, it's not going to get better as long as people keep dying. They need to hire someone who can fix that problem.
Truth, I could not get enough of it as a cartoon when I was a kid
Hey coach, I don’t think we survived that crash!?
"What was your first guess?"
How did you guess?
@@sarahsims6164 haha, script correct. 👍
Great movie, great performance delivered by Keaton
You got it wrong when you said the Cartoon lasted 2 season it actually lasted 4 seasons
Correct! I have it on DVD too
Yeah, three very short seasons and one super long one.
For me as a 80s/90s kid, Beetlejuice is definitely in the top 10 of greatest movies
Go ahead... Make my millennium
Loved that line !!
Mintys talking in a real funny tone in the intro. Like he's patronising us lol I remember the cartoon more than the movie! Damn, those toys I haven't seen in almost 30years! Didn't realise I had so many Beetlejuice toys! They were awesome. Wish I still had all that stuff
Damn those copyright buggers💪🏻
I’m going to order the dvd now. I forgot how much I love that flick.
"Scared Sheetless" just sounds like a very weird film and sounds like something out of Waynes' World!
Also sounds like the title of a horror movie where a washing machine comes to life and starts killing people. (Thanks Christine, you've influenced me again.)
@@LadyOnikara Cool
Good to see this video again. Awesome Minty and that doll is wickedly cool.
Mate...this so freaky as I have just downloaded the movie to show my 11 year old that is auditioning for a part in the musical.
She was unaware that it was originally a movie.
Why can;t my Lotto numbers be as freaky as this?? ...LOL
That’s very cool. I wish your daughter luck in getting the part she’s auditioning for 👍
What.........a.........film!!!! I have lost count how many times i have seen this film and now my children think the film is brilliant and laugh their socks off everytime they watch it!!
Poor minty, pretty much has to redo his whole RUclips career 😒 bloody copyrighting.
Bit, on the positive side he gets more views since his fanbase has grown significantly since 2017.
@C J updates, more crowds. Allison from obscurus Lupa did it too. Moved to patreon.
Well it's job security for Minty.
I am enjoying your channel. Thanks for all of the wonderful content
