      Not the crimp. Neck tension. Wasn't sized properly or the expander ball was too large. The crimp won't retain the bullet if the neck tension isn't there. If the neck tension isn't there the crimp doesn't matter unless it's really aggressive - which is something you don't do on a semi auto.

  • @-jimmyjames

    Yes sir. Bullet setback. the projectile pushed into a case can blow a firearm up. Dont rack rds multiple times if you can help it and if you have just stand a fresh rd next to suspect rd and check or measure w a caliper if concerned. Setback increases the pressure dramatically. spikes it. can equal bad boom.

All of the SS197, American Eagle, and this stuff is made by Fiocchi under contract. All Fiocchi ammo uses off the shelf powders and bullets. Up until just over a year ago Fiocchi loaded all the ammo on FNH supplied brass causing a bottle neck. They started a new contract and now Fiocchi is manufacturing their own 5.7 brass on 4 machines in Italy.

      @zakpike4582 Tell me, you know nothing about firearms or how ammunitions work without telling me you don't.
      Those bullets can harm you when there is loose powder everywhere. It's why everybody hated the cap and ball revolver that was made into a rifle when it was invented. The loose powder, along with fire, caused a chain reaction that caused every round to go off. If there is enough room for the projectiles to fall out, there is room for fire to get through. And the 5.7x28 does have a fireball at the end of the barrel when shot. Have both a ps90 and a ruger 5.7. All it takes is some of that loose powder to be in the wrong spot and boom. You lose both hands.

But seeing as your lacking, let me spell it out for you real slow as I have personal experience with this very issue. If he had attempted to chamber one of those rounds and it was compressed his gun would explode and he would get seriously injured on at least one hand. Also had he chambered a loose round, not fired the gun, and then racked the slide he runs a high risk of that bullet remaining stuck at the start of the barrel in the chamber. If he then attempted to cycle the slide and chamber another round following and not catching that there was a bullet still in there, it could still chamber that next round and either set back the new bullet creating a explosive pressure spike or it could push that first bullet in deeper and upon firing create a explosive pressure spike. Both of those scenarios have happened in an 5.7 chambered firearms with that very same brand of bullets. Do I need to spell it out anymore for you?

    5.7x28 is notorious for ammunition issues. There's no competition in the market for the ammo. The spec itself was badly designed. Why do I say this? The casings have to be coated in order to extract after firing. Without it, your $1200 Belgian toy becomes a single shot.
    Also worth noting that 5.7x28 bullets are glued in - not crimped. likely an issue with the glue station in the manufacturing line.

  • @SolFireYT
    @SolFireYT 4 месяца назад

    I make my own ammo. 5.7 is unique ammunition that requires a special coating on the round (maybe just the brass casing) it’s essentially lubrication. My guess is that coating somehow messed with seating of the projectile or caused the projectile to come loose. I’ve had this happen to me like 2xs before (like literally 2 rounds) it could also be the brass was sized wrong, which happened to me. Clearly a huge problem but it’s exceptionally rare from reputable manufacturers. So while you did do the right thing I wouldnt worry about it. Just keeps your eyes out

    • @shaun536
      @shaun536 4 месяца назад

      Dude it does not require a special coating at all depending on the firearm. The coating was designed to aid in feeding through the p90 magazines and to help extraction of the casings once fired in the FSN pistol. There are no coatings on the bullets at all from FNH. The issue here is that the company fnh has running the process through has been doing shoddy work and poor QC during the bullet gluing and seating stage. Most other brands use a crimp whether it be a taper crimp or traditional roll crimp. If you buy either of those I would suggest you go out and get a lee factory crimp die and run them through when first bought for safety.

      @@stevefinesse1I would highly suggest you go out and pick up either a Lee single stage press or hand press and a set of their factory crimp dies. OPen every box and run them through the factory crimp die station. You will see better consistencys across the board when shooting. I myself do not mind buying the cheaper rounds for plinking,I do thos my self because I found out early on almost 20 years ago when I started that some ammo that FNH had fioche make first under the AE name and now also under their own name have loose bullets in some of the boxes do to poor quality control during the gluing and seating phase of the bullet. Hope this helps you going forward and stay safe. You don't need a kb from something like this and end up with scares at a minimum or more serious issues.
