There’s so many vehicles that went in and out of style over the years but those things have always been a popular body style. I’m not even a gm guy but I’d love an original gnx 👍
The roadster shop build was god tier i watched that one a couple times, Literally one of the best restomod builds iv ever seen because it looks like a brand new 80's car! The style of the plug + play system was at the forefront here being so different to what we are used to with the motorsport digital dashboards
I have an 87 GN and will never replace my 3.8 turbo , that being said just because I feel that way doesn't mean I dislike any of the builds in this video the Rod shop's car is a total home run and really everyone's build on here is we all can't like the same thing if that was the case we couldn't find our own vehicle in a parking lot . One thing is true seems that the G body is more popular than ever and maybe we all can agree on that !!!!!!!
Love the roadster shops Gbody with the V8 its a beast, just not big fan of the wheeles but to each their own. Edit: ok i love the roadster shops build but frankies ride is like damn, thats where its at.
Gbody cars are awesome I have a 83 custom hurstolds that I try to drive in the summer months its enjoyable when you put your own custom touches on them
My uncle had an all Original, mint 86 Grand National with pretty low miles that he had to sell very, very cheap when he came upon some hard times. It was his pride and joy. If i wasnt so young at the time and just about 5 yrs or so older i would have bought that car from him in a second. Always one of my favorites, i can remember him taking me for rides in it around 10-14 yrs old and my head being pinned to the seat. Probably what instilled in me my love for American muscle cars now at age 32
I love G BODY...But 1600 hp Twin Turbo Buick Grand National Custom Built by Roadster Shop This is phenomenal project 💙Every little detail on the car Custom And tastefully done. I love this car!. It's a bomb It's very cool
There’s more to gbodys then just grand nationals. A platform just starting to get real respect in the car world. Possibly the last full frame cars built. Love my Malibu.
Fitting video: I just put my GN down for the winter today. Fresh gas, Sta-Bil, wash, and covered in the garage. Awesome closing to this day….thank you.
Im the same way with the engine topic, yeah you can do over 1k hp with the V6 and power is power is power. That said it sounds like a kittens meow compared to the V8 roar, personally i don't want a V6 in anything unless im trying to have better mpg.
I would never put a v8 in my 87 t-type when I could potentially put down over 500 hp with an over 30 year old v6,I don't need anymore for a daily driver
@@bradpoursartip2940 that's your choice if you don't want to, not the way I'd go even if it is the same power 500hp for example I'd still prefer the V8.
The way Sean described the blood flow to the back of the head during hard acceleration toward the brink of potentially passing out is real. My buddy power braked his Rivian R1T (close to 1,000hp EV) and I honestly felt like I was going to pass out from the incredible AWD acceleration. That's the most HP I've ever experienced firsthand in a vehicle.
Shawn, people didn’t complain about mismatching engines back in the day because these old cars were so cheap it didn’t really matter. Now they have skyrocket into the stratosphere on price so people are far more particular on keeping them true to the heritage.

Awesome video as usual. All fantastic car's but a little into Franky's car I had to run the video back & go to headphones. That car is the boss. I know it took mega bucks to build but I'm fine getting to experience other's major investments because I sorta got to ride in it without getting heart palpitations. Thanks for bringing us videos of these amazing machines. You Rock.👍😎
@@AutotopiaLA wow I won't try to imagine because I would come up short I'm sure. The people that build these machines go way beyond the everyday mechanic not to take away from the mechanic but these builders are absolutely no doubt Engineer's. The Buicks just look good..The roadster shop one is my favourite💪 Love this channel Shaun..always excited to watch..2023 has been a great year, keep up your fantastic work/you and the team do outstanding work
I love them all,but for a street mob boss Frankie,Frankie, and Frankie has what is the ultimate hot rod. No joke about it. Pure can’t come even close to the disaster it would be to jump on that car. I can feel the power just watching that thing. I mean no disrespect to anyone,I love them all. That car is 💯!!! Like the old -ick joke this thing would make you cry. Good stuff big man!!

I heard all that engine swap hater talk back in 2003 when I 5.0 swapped my ‘87 T-Bird Turbo Coupe. All the 2.3 purists were raking me over the coals for “ruining” my car on the T-Bird forums (notably the T-BIrd NATO group). Yeah, I coulda built the 2.3 turbo and made some good power but it was never going to make the low end torque my current engine makes and it sure wasn’t going to make that noise that the V8 makes……two big factors that make the car so much fun and smile inducing to drive. Still catch flack every now and then today from the 2.3 purists but I get far more positive feedback when the normal car folks crowd see/hear it today. Most common response: “That’s what Ford should’ve put in those cars”

G body's are great but my real love is for their older brother the b body, the whole style started with the 77 caprice first of the downsized chevys boxy cars.
I’m a huge Mustang fan but these as so many said still look badass today, huge GN fan but love the T Types just as much. That roadster shop one wow just wow but I struggle with why you would put 1,600HP in a street, yes bragging rights but you’ll never get to use it much if at all.

To build a car that could run a 9.90 and still have power steering and power brakes and air conditioning and be able to drive the car anywhere. That Roadster Shop GN is by far my favorite of any GN profiled on your channel to date.

Open the exhaust on a GN and it’s one of the best sounding burnouts you’ll ever hear and one that you know without even seeing it

if you got the money do what you want. most people complaining will NEVER have a car worth speaking of.. stock built or modified is all good.
