I've survived kidney cancer twice. Completely separate cancers, at different times, two different kinds of RCC, one in each kidney. The first instance I had an open partial nephrectomy on the left kidney. Pathology determined it was chromophobe RCC. One year later, on the right kidney a tumor was found. Had robotic laproscopic partial nephrectomy. Pathology showed this one to be clear cell RCC. I tell you all of this so you'll know that it is very survivable if found early. I'm now five years cancer free in my kidneys.
Thank you for your story. It gives me hope. I’m currently doing the waiting game. I have a 4.8 mass in my kidney but because I have medi-cal I feel like process is taking slow. But I am hopeful. I know god is taking care of me.

I am sorry to hear about the mass but glad to know he's getting medical care. That question is one your medical team (nurses, doctor's, etc.) will likely have a response for as they have a lot more experience with this. Sending you my best. -Stephanie

I was just diagnosed with Stage 1 Clear Cell Renal Carcinoma and I am terrified and still in shock! Surgeon is going to try and remove a small part of my kidney if he can. If not he will have to take the whole kidney. I went in for stomach pain and came out with a CT scan that showed the tumor. Had a biopsy on the 5th of February and got the results that it was cancer on the 17th of March. Covid has our hospital beds full of people being flown in from other areas with Covid so my surgery date is up in the air. I don't know what is worse, the diagnosis or all the stress and anxiety of having to wait. Have been looking on line for success stories apposed to googling kidney cancer. Hope everyone is healthy and happy ✌❤
