- I was doing a job of trying to replace a belt tensioner assembly on a 2013 tsi vw tiguan When I find out how difficult it was I just need to share it. I do not know how many years they use this tensioner. Chances are that your car probably has the same part. For Volkswagen tiguan tsi.

Gracias. Verdaderamente es una misión cambiar el tensor. Ya tengo la idea para cuando me toque el turno de reemplazo. 👍🏻
Si estava canijo para cambiar jaja
Thanks man u saved me much frustration!
Glad I could help
This is a much more time consuming method than is necessary.
The simple way to access the tensioner, belt, and the remainder of the belt circuit components is to remove the front passenger tire and wheel well cover. It's approximately 12 T25 crews. The tensioner will be to the center right after removing the cover. Super easy accessibility.
The tensioner back screw can be accessed from underneath with a breaker bar or something similar with range.
Still have to drop the engine, but way less work. No need to add more for what's already a huge PITA.
Thanks for the additional info 👍
How many miles are on the car? What are the signs of a tensioner going bad? We're looking into getting this same car
This one had about 60k and a way to know if it is bad is the belt slips making a chirping sound or a rattle on the pulley.
Oh man what what a PITA to replace. What made you replace yours? I was thinking of doing mine as I'm going to replace the belt, but after watching your video, not sure if I can be bothered. It doesn't seem squeaky or failed at all, more precautionary measure on a 2012 I wanted to take.
I changed it because it was making a sound. If you don't need it done yet just wait till you do. Save the cash for now.
@@mechanicalman8048 thanks man will do
In case you don't know , once you unbolt the motor mounts, you have to get it aligned again
Why can't you just replace the bearing ?
The spring becomes the issue
