  • RESET: FOUNDING OF GHANA NO-PARTY MOVEMENT
[PLEASE, this is a WORK IN PROGRESS. The hope is that we shall TOGETHER put our shoulders to the wheel and work in crafting this document. Whatever you see here is a DRAFT]
The fourth republic has existed for 30 years. 30 years is half the life span of the country. Since its inception it has been downhill for all professional classes. Teachers, Doctors, Farmers, Mechanics, Engineers, Pharmacists, Lecturers, Nurses, and all groups have seen an erosion of their salaries and living standards. The only professional group whose progress has been on an upwards trajectory is the political class.
    ITEM DESCRIPTION
1 AIM To remove partisan politics as a means of choosing our servers. Those in management of our activities as a nation will not be classified as leaders. It must be understood clearly.
2 OBJECTIVE To rally the whole of the country at the grassroots but not through dividing the people. Partisan politics is the most alien political culture in Africa. It has zero antecedents in the culture. Therefore, its practice has been hijacked by deep-pocketed interests.
To rally grassroots Africa against the alien culture of Partisan Politics. Partisan politics is an alien political culture in Africa.
3 TRAJECTORY It is very clear that the nation, just like the model of America, will continue to get polarized with time. America is 250 years old, but it is more divided than it has ever been. Current party politics governance makes it trend towards anarchical democracy to the point where it is dangerous. Therefore, just like a PC, it needs a reset to be able to function as expected. There is no reconciliation between the NDC and NPP, and there can’t be any reconciliation on the horizon. But they can work together if we stop dangling the prize of power in front of their noses
4 CORRUPTION The most banal word in world partisan politics is corruption. Yet it is the only growth activity in partisan politics. This is because dividing people into parties to rule them cannot be done above board. It involves secrecy and all the underhanded dealings that promote corruption.
5 ELECTIONS There will be most transparent elections in this new dispensation of NO-PARTY POLITICS. We shall take original democracy in voting as was practiced by Athens and Sparta.
6 NO SECRECY In old times Athens, people met in the town square and voted without billboards, flyers, brochures, and ads. Thus, they were cheap. Now elections in Ghana and in most African countries are perhaps the most expensive industry. Or at best, and industry of great expense.
7 TRANSPARENCY There will be no secrecy in voting. Secrecy is the bedrock, lubricant, and engine of corruption. The community will protect any voter who exercises his or her absolute and guaranteed right to vote, and grievously sanction any intimidator. With that said, since voting is not compulsory, any citizen who is scared to vote PUBLICLY doesn’t have to vote.
8 COST Elections will not be an investment. In this new dispensation, it will not be a business where people invest and then reap dividends upon winning power. It is going to be completely localized and of very simple design.
9 FOREIGN AFFAIRS Ghana’s foreign policy turned inwards towards Africa. The belief is that Africa has a shared destiny, and our lives are historically intertwined. Therefore, our futures will also be intertwined. Big and medium sized projects will be jointly owned and executed by more than one country. The Tigrit Dam in Ethiopia should have been jointly owned by Ethiopia, Sudan, and Egypt. The Bagry dam should have been owned and operated by Ghana and Burkina Faso. Going forward, there will be deliberate efforts to coordinate development.
