Did they give you an affiliate link so you can get credit for purchases made through your channel? Also I would love to see the RunCam Helmet Cam 4k running in 2k @60fps. I think 60fps provides a much smoother and less jarring experience for the viewer. You can see a massive difference between the RunCam Thumb 2 4k @60fps vs 4k @30fps for the Helmet Cam. I'm curious to see if the 2k option of the Helmet Cam would be worth the extra frames while still keeping the crisp footage. Thanks Rummbolt for another awesome and well crafted video!
Oh, and unfortunately, there is no affiliate Link. I should ask for it in case there will be another cooperation in the future - thanks for the idea

Thanks for sharing! Nice about feedback and firmware update... I think that helmet cam need options on Field Of View... like linear or narrow, because a wide angle shows nothing at the distance... so less context about what is happening far away on the enemy field... I say this because human eye is not wide FOV... When you are playing... your eyes get information about enemy... BUT HELMET CAM IN WIDE FOV SHOW VERY FAR VERY SMALL. Ask for linear or narrow FOV firmware update would be great... Meanwhile... zoom edit to get better view. thanks for sharing mate!
I think the problem would be the digital zoom, if you ask me, a more narrow field of view would not really show more details on opponents 30-50m away. Fur such cases, I'd recomment the use of a scope cam mounted on the replica, for example the RunCam ScopeCam SE :) Have a good one, and thanks for your comment :)
Issue I had with the first one it isn't BB proof you need to make a protective cover mine was hit and it dislodged the IR filter during game play I just bought another but since I have 3d printed a cover and used 4mm polycarbonate to protect the lense etc
That's interesting. I never got a bb impact on the lens cover, but good to know it obviously is not invincible. Thanks for sharing your opinion, have a good one!

thanks man for sharing! Seems not a good audio recorder yet... please please, on an airsoft camera test, please include some of the particular samples that airsoft involves, like: About Image: Zoom to see that far away enemy and see how the pixels do the job. Lens exposure reaction between outdoors and indoor... Sound: The particular airsoft activity sounds, like your loud voice and whispering voice too. Voice or action surrounding. Your firing sound and your far away enemy firing sound. Thanks for sharing!
I get your points - for the next camera review, I will consider to implement your ideas! However, for the Helmet Camera 4k, I wanted to have the footage as close as possible to the footage of the 1080p Version, which already is one year old. That's why i chose the exact same setting. Thanks for your constructive ideas, have a good one!

@@rummbolt thanks man! I got a helmet cam 1080p, I love the 18650 battery, but not its audio and some light reflections over the lens. A helmet action cam must be at least 2k@60 and stabilization, Linear or narrow Field of view, XY sound record (left/right audio channels). No more... Thanks mate!
Hey, nice videos on the different runcams. I’m hoping to get your opinion on if the image quality is better on the helmet 4K or the thumb 2? I looking to pick up a supplemental camera to use in addition to a GoPro
Hey hey, thanks for your comment :) If you ask me, I like the image quality of the helmet camera a little better - but only if 30FPS are enough for you and you don't need EIS. The Thumb 2 offers 60FPS on 4K and EIS, but the image seems to be a liiittle more blurry. Not much however... but yeah, that's what I think about them :) Have a good one!
I did not test this, but at least for the lenses, you can get replacement gorilla glass covers directly from RunCam. The housing could be protected by an extra shell, maaaybe there is something like this coming soon ;) Have a good one!
Now I just need a Thumbcam2 review as I dislike helmets and heavy camera's like GoPro's *edit: I shouldnt write comments before watching. Now I get to see the new Helmet Cam and the Thumb2 in one video damn :) Whats your opinion on the Thumb2?
Haha, watch first always is a good idea, but thanks for your comment anyways ^.^ If you ask me, the Helmet Cam 4k has the slightly better image on 4k, but the Thumb 2 is better in Terms on FPS. In case you manage to get good frame interpolation on the Helmet Camera 4k footage, i think this is the better model to use as a headcam for airsoft :) Have a good one!
Looks awsome have the original because of your first video and will get this because of the same I think Would you be able to feedback on low light performance I play mainly indoor cqb and find the original abit grainy in low light Cheers
Hello and thank your for trusting in my opinion on the cameras so much :) I have not tested it yet in dark environment, but the darker it gets the sooner regular action cams come to their limits. If you want to record in the dark, my recommendation would be the NightFox Prowl, which is an entry-level digital Night Vision Gadget. You could ever wear both at the same time on your helmet in theory :) Have a good one!
It for sure would benefit from such a technology, but on the other hand, post-production solutions on this have come very far. For me personally, time will tell if i stick to the thumb 2 with EIS and 60FPS, or to the Helmet Camera 4k. Have a good one!
I agree, 60FPS would be ccol. Interpolation also could be an option here. For the next months, I'll play around with the settings, results are to follow on the channel :) Have a good one!
I was more impressed by the building, is that your home, 😎
Let's say, part-time home :P It's an old water tower which provided water distribution for the local town about 100 years ago :) Have a good one!
As always, awesome in depth review!
And once again, thank you very much for your kind words :) I'm glad you enjoyed it, have a good one!

if this was weatherproof and had some sort of wind protection I'd get it
Eventually, RunCam will release something in the future to deal with those points... but pssst ;)
good little camera then
I think, for the price it's a very good deal :) Have a good one!

Hey bud I’ve got the original 1080 version but even in day light there’s is a bit of pixelation and graininess any tips to make the quality better?

Needs image stabilization

2:52 no waterproof at least. I can quit the video. Anyway thx man 🙋🏻♂️
There are rumours about a solution on this point for the near future, but I can not tell more at this point ;)

I would like to see 2K at 60 FPS how it performs. 4K is nice, but 30 FPS is a drawback.
