My automatic response to "FIRE IN THE HOLE" Is to platform and pull my other Healer up as fast as I can. Did that to a rat 3 times. He finally learned to climb the walls and yeet tire at me.

Battle mercy however
At this point, the only reason to play mercy is to play against Mauga because that’s the only person her weapon is good against

Mercy had about the same heals at launch that she does now. It was 50 HPS instead of 55 HPS, slightly worse but not that noticeable.

@@awestarzzzfps its 44 HPS instead of 50, again barely noticeable. My point was that mercy has never been a "high single target" healer. Those didn't exist in original OW1. Mercy was the best in a pool of relatively terrible healers at launch, and the game had a MUCH faster ttk. If you think supports have it bad now, you would've hated OG overwatch. Mercy was simultaneously more important and much weaker than she is now.
Yesterday I was playing solo and we just all sinked well together so we decided to 5 stack. I was playing Pharah for most of the time and I wanted to play junk on a map and our Mercy said Junk's not doing well right now and then she immediately said who am I kidding I'm playing Mercy

All of these kinds of Situations are the tank/dps beeing good and mercy amplifying that a little bit.

And if you duo mercy can be pretty strong if your duo is good at the game and picks a character that benefits from dmg boost
But that is never mercy beeing good and always the other character beeing good.
Zen could do that too if you have the coordination to say who you are going to target next and dmg orb that person
And he can even shoot while healing AND dmg boosting at the same time (granted his heal is lower but his dmg boost is the same and he does both passively so wth)
Ain't no way we are saying that the hero who heals 40 hp a second on 1 target is somehow keeping a 625 hp Winston from exploding from 4 reaper shots.
Pocketing a tank is LITERALLY the worst and most useless thing you can do on mercy
Saying lifeweaver is just raw healing and him being tanky is drastically downplaying the usage of petal and life grip.

Not to mention catching someone off guard with his little needle headshots can actually be quite devastating.
Counter point, most people who play weaver are awful with their use of grip and petal is basically just a survival tool. I literally lost a game of comp the other day cause I was doom and my weaver pulled me out of fights I was winning into a hog after I committed my cooldowns to the dive.

They're decent abilities but they have very little playmaking potential, and so you have a character with no damage output (cause he can't since he needs to heal and has no good range damage) and no play potential compared to someone like Illari, who has tons of healing but can heal while doing damage and has a team fight winning ult.
All of Lifeweavers abilities are reactive and defensive. They generally exist to mitigate the fuck ups of your team and make it annoying for the enemy to do things. I'd rather have supports that actually do things to help the team win fights.
Agreed on life weaver. A tanky healbot isn’t fun to play or play against or good for the game. They need to need his tanky-ness and find a way to improve his play style in other ways.
I only played Lifeweaver from his release until mid season 9, and I just can’t do it anymore. Illari is much more fun and engaging to play

It feels good to be able to consistently save teammates while also fighting for your survival. He’s annoying but not game denying annoying. If they have a weaver the enemy team is basically playing a 4v5. A healbot can only do so much. Especially when actively being dived.
I will say he’s annoying to play against. But to play as I love him.

I’ve played lifeweaver for like 5-6 straight seasons. You have to try very hard to get the same value as any other support for half the effort. Yeah that can be fun, but it’s also exhausting. Now that I’ve been on Illari and zen for a season even swapping over to life weaver just feels like a chore.
Like someone mentioned previously and I’ve said 1000 times. Life weavers problem isn’t in his healing or damage numbers, it’s in his kit and play style.
A tanky support that can survive almost anything but feel clunky and awkward to heal or damage with just isn’t working
Hot take, but Zen is at a state where if you buff him, he's too broken, but if you nerf him, he's glass about to explode

Mercy is good below masters where most people either a) refuse to target mercy especially during rez, b) refuse to swap to hitscan to deal with the Mercy or c) don't have enough skill to actually deal with the Mercy even on a hitscan. (this is from someone who plays plat-diamond.)

People do the same with rein… or just about any other character. When someone really enjoys a certain character, it won’t matter if they’re in the meta or not, that person will still want to play them for the fun gameplay loop.

I think they should give weaver the ability to cause a damage increase based on the amount of thorns you land and to not make it op not really make any changes to his current fire mode.
Lifeweaver needs a LOT more buffing
As a mercy main, it’s just painful, everyone hates you and what you can do is, meh. Though mirror watch has made something apparent, we need someone that can do what sombra does in it, buffing a teammates fire rate is so damn cool
They should change some things with her, I don’t main her but every time I’ve played her it’s just boring. Rez damage boost imo is the only reason people play her. At least right now, her healing is mediocre.. it’s just not great with the dps passive existing. I play mostly Widow or when I heal I’m on Ana, Illari, Kiri, Moira. I don’t like playing mercy but she still feels like a good pick in certain situations.
I understand as a widow main since launch of ow1, that everyone hates me too. Widow feels dumb to play just since she’s easily countered, people tbag me just for playing widow lol. I remember people being a lot less toxic in ow1, now it’s just consistent when people rage. Just play who you feel like, or who you’re comfortable with. Don’t let the haters get to you, they’re the real problem. I hope Blizzard makes mercy fun for you mercy mains. Maybe instead of damage boost they could include a little dmg or fire rate boost on the heal beam at least in her ult, and increase the speed of her heals? I get people hate the rez but it’s all she really has going for her.
@@Svrahe mercy has a very fun bit of mobility I’ve found, could boost her numbers but I’m a huge fan of the attack speed buff they let sombra do in mirror watch, so maybe that could be a really unique feature instead of the right click damage buff. Or maybe trash rez for the attack speed hack ability they gave sombra and buff her healing to be the best in game.
@@HEXAN-tv9eu Yeah I think it’s time damage boost should just be unique for ults like Ana’s ultimate. Zen orb is pretty annoying but it’s just single targets (it should have a slight cooldown). I wouldn’t mind if they did something different like what you said for mercy, I’d actually try playing her more. I know kiri gives increased fire rate in her ult too though. Blizz should just let us test these things like we used to in ow1 before they’d release it. They just keep nerfing and buffing more wrong things than right. Like how Ana heals are 75 while Lifeweaver no aim heals 80. You’d think the hero that requires aim would be more rewarding. I don’t understand Blizz.
As a LW side main, revert the buff to dash, revert heal charge nerf and heal buff, make heal 3/4 charge while damaging, make weapon swap faster. The thing holding LW back is grip being on a higher CD than suzu, and quality of life problems with his weapon swap. Putting a weapon swap on a charge heal is the most glaring problem with his kit imo.
As for mercy, my main main who I refuse to play, just rework her please. Give her a slightly nerfed soul burn, or just some ability that you use more than 3 times per 10. No mercy main outside of low gold likes rez. Nerf zen discord. If DMG boost has to be at 25% there's no reason for the better damage amp to be the same value. Anything else idfk. But her heal and people complain, make Valkyrie an actual ultimate and not just spectator mode, people complain, buff DMG boost, people complain. GA doesn't need buffs (when they buff mercy they're just going to make GA busted and that's it.)
As a mercy main I’ve struggled staying in gold 4, and it’s a game of ups and downs. I know I gotta lay others so I have been.

Life weaver surprisingly has great dmg and kills opportunities. I was giving him a shot a couple weeks ago and was actually getting solid kills. Line up the heads and that fast fire rate will melt a dps and tank. Once I learned how to use his kit while doing dmg. Im dominating lobbies. He ult denies alot of heros and high pick rate tanks. Counters ana with the pull back. Can deal with tracer and Sombra. Idk bro usually I agree with you but I think he should be in A or B. His platform is a get out of jail free card. Healing is busted.

I think good lifeweaver players are some of my favorite support players and I’m always excited to have one on my team.. Especially when they appropriately pull you out of life threatening situations.
This comment probably won’t get seen much but I’ll do it anyway.
Trapper - The satisfaction of getting a successful trap. Doubly so if it happens during chase.
Wraith - Going for sneak attacks with silent bell.
Billy - Fun to play against. General goofiness.
Nurse - So satisfying to use well.
Myers - Funny Mirror. Need I say more.
Hag - Using traps on loops.
Doctor - Skill Check Doctor. I feel so evil when I use it but it’s so fun.
Huntress- The lullaby slaps.
Bubba - The counterplay on his power and how he interacts with Lockers/Windows
Freddy - Fake pallets are funny I guess. One of my least favorites tho.
Pig - Her sound design, specifically on the headtraps. Once you get past the halfway point it gets super stressful.
Clown - The laugh.
Spirit - Similar satisfaction in Power use, honorable mention to cosmetics.
Legion - The mixtapes, I love how the Entity decided to join in.
Plague - I have a love/hate relationship with the sound design of being infected. It makes me sick, but of course that’s the whole purpose and it does it well.
Ghost Face - Actually good stealth. Works super well with his ability to lean and the ability for Survivors to reveal him if he isn’t careful.
Demo - The funny walk. Doggo.
Oni - The fear factor when going against him. Hearing that roar across the map is terrifying.
Deathslinger - Similar thing to Oni. Shots ringing out across the map is horrifying.
Pyramid Head - One of my favorite powers in the game. Prediction shots through walls feel so good to hit.
Blight - His insane speed. Also Hex Undying
Twins - The ability to punt Victor is really funny
Trickster - The wall-bounce add-on
Nemesis - Zombies. They’re goofy, I love that Nemesis can just clock them, and it’s hilarious when they actually get hits and, even more rarely, downs.
Cenobite - His voice. I love all the lines he has and imitate them while I play as him.
Artist - Her lore. One of the most tragic Killers in DbD, of which there are many.
Sadako - How they emulate her curse so well in her gameplay. Also the special intro you get 7 days after buying her.
Dredge - His whole aesthetic is so cool. One of the few Killers that can emulate horror so well while just playing the game normally.
Wesker - His chase theme is such a banger. I also love the swagger of his voice lines and animations. Pretty much everyone in the game is just a serial Killer, but Wesker is a goddamn supervillain and his music lets you know that.
Knight - When you take some time to understand him, he becomes a genuinely neat Killer to go as and against.
Skull Merchant - The hacking minigame.
Singularity - His design.
Xenomorph - Flame turrets are funny and a neat method of power counterplay.
Chucky - The voice lines, obviously. I’m wondering if they’ll ever incorporate Glenn/Glenda, Chucky/Tiffany’s child, as a skin.
Unknown - Good lord there’s too many things to choose from. I guess I gotta give it to the amazing design of UVX. The way you can influence a Survivor’s movement by just holding it out or having them be weakened. The fact that you can switch up your chases to take cover to avoid weakened from being cleared, so you’re like some crazy cryptid that chases while still remaining unseen until the moment you strike. I could gush about The Unknown all day, he is by far my favorite Killer.
I oftenly escape from venture with LW but i kinda agree, playing him is kinda niche
Mercy hurts, as I've been doing better with Mercy this season than any other season, her deal is if your team is full on heal pull out the glock, otherwise focus tank heals
I need them to bring back Mercy's increased healing when the person you're healing is 50% or below. I think that would be very balanced with how her healing is now.
Slow, but consistent healing over time is affected the worst by the new debuff while in combat.
Granted Mercy has the option to swap to damage beam, and sometimes it's better to just do that. But I agree it feels reaaaaally bad in the middle of fights when your beam is just doing absolutely nothing.
Burst healing > slow HoT. Though I'm not sure how they remedy this, other than perhaps ramping up the heal amount as it stays on the same target, like reverse Sym primary fire.
Just give Mercy a nice burst heal, and nerf the HPS, burst has been king of healing FOREVER, and is why Mercy is regulated to being a boring, right clicking pocketbot for literaly years
I hate when Mercy is bad because so many people play nothing but Mercy no matter what. I'd rather have her be useful so the one trick Mercy kittens can be useful.
Mercy doesn't need a buff. Mercy needs a full rework. Get rid of the pistol and the damage boost and turn the damage boost into an auto aim attack short distance like Moira.

imo either they give weaver and mercy more viable damage, or they give those two specifically a way to bypass the dps passive.
im a weaver main myself and i wouldnt mind the thorns getting something (maybe hitting enough thorns causes a damage over time status?) but i also think it would make sense for weaver and mercy as more "pure supports" to lean more into their existing strengths

Give Lifeweaver's Charge Heal additional Heal over time (Let's say 75% and up charge), That way it's to micro-managing to find damage windows.

As a tracer main, illari is annoying as fuck. Feels like she does so much damage for a healer
Flats I swear to god if you make these mercy mains think she needs a buff, EVERY time mercy is good she ruins games. Mercy is a pocket support and she’s always going to be good when you pair her with a good dps player. You SHOULD know this as a tank 1 trick when you get a game where your entire team is just dying to such a duo.

What's crazy is I've got my highest winrate this season on mercy. Ranging from 60-65%.
I am new to overwatch but every time there is a mercy on the other team no one ever dies and i always end up losing. Is she really useless? Is there some counter that my team and i should be doing?

I have to disagree on the Lucio ranking. I'm not trying to argue, but with the new DPS passive, Lucio's healing feels much less effective. Now I'm not researching the meta and constantly up to date on these things, this is just my opinion.
If they let her do the soul explosion in base game she would be awesome. They could make it similar to moira biotic balls so whenever you hit res it makes you pick explosion or revive.
Honestly, with me and my friend being hard stuck in a rank lower than we were in the reset, if he just damage boosts me on any high dps character, we just win. That’s the only situation I see her good in.
If your team is kinda meh, Mercy is pretty much completely useless whereas as other Supports can do SOMETHING to maybe help out a little. With a good team Mercy damage boosting still feels kinda useless because it doesn’t seem like anyone actually needed it and you could’ve done something else as any other healer instead
Rezes never feel impactful during team fights because it takes so god damn long and in that time someone else just explodes instead because you’re not healing them or you die because they’re hitting a statue
Right now the only supports I struggle with are Bap, Ana, Brig, and Kiri. Had to turn off my aim assist(PS4) so my screen doesn't get dragged by enemies when I'm trying to heal. I'm still learning how to play brig in general cuz she can get melted fast if there's more than one enemy.
Lifeweaver is like Orisa in that he sucks to play against and to play as. Unlike Orisa, he sucks to play because he’s just not goos

I stopped playing 7 seasons ago and looking at these lists I am glad I did because stuff that I liked but was situational/weak is still that and stuff that I didn't got stronger or kept their place in the meta. Also yes Mercy needed to be put down mainly because her damage buff made stuff obnoxious but also "mercy = support" to me in ow and seeing her being trash feels wrong.
This tier list doesnt apply to anything below diamond maybe even masters
This is the First season since Long where I dont really Play Mercy cuz she is kinda useless. Her damage boost isnt really that good considering that every other healer can do decent damage on their own. Her healing isnt good anymore since the dps passive. The only Thing that is an Advantage with Mercy is the rez ability. But that also isnt helpful enough in the most cases to be a Play Factor.
Raw healing. Decent dmg, ez life saving life grip, fun mobilty and 150hp overhealth ult. I like LW. I think he is very balanced
LW deserves higher than a C. Between being a main healer as a literal support character, having a petal that can't be pierced, and a invulnerability pull he is an A for me.
I literally got 4 endorsements because I kept the entire team alive by myself. The other support was Zenyatta and he got the MOST eliminations. That man barely healed anyone and I wasn't mad at it.
Lifeweaver is a long-ranged healer that can track through WALLS! As long as he has LOS when firing his heals the only constructs that I've seen get in the way are barriers and you can aim up to make the projectile go over it.
I'm placing at LEAST at an A if not an S just due to skill issue.

Okay but when a mercy enables her dps like soldier,Ash,Cass,Widow,Bastion ect isnt she useful then maybe not healing what about dmg boost beam?
These guys don't feel the effects of mercy because they all try hard, they all queue up together and they all focus whoever is being called out in chat. Considering these guys have all 3 of those things every game they play it's no wonder they think Mercy isn't a big deal and instead think Kiriko is so strong. They can scream and try hard enough to kill a mercy usually in between jumps but a kiriko can deny their tryhard coordination with a button.
In reality, a mercy who is doing the constant flying around and topping up everyone's health bar immediately upon taking damage, is more than likely the thing that's ruining your game. Everyone gives up killing mercy, they start shooting the others, they then try to dive in in mercy team and the mercy instantly can heal with 1 click, in 1 second and start undoing the dive damage. Yes that's what supports do, so the obvious solution would be to focus on the support so the instant healing can stop and killing can finally start happening. Except, Mercy can't die. So the healing never stops. Which turns the game into "who can randomly combine abilities together for a random pick". That isn't fun for solo queue. And the same can be said with a couple other supports like Moria and Lucio. They're too hard to pin down and thus makes the enemy team hard to pin down. Especially with how terrible team focus is in low ranks.
I'm tired of people thinking every character needs to be equal. Blizzard and certain players have to realize characters like Life Weaver, Mauga, Moira, Torb, Symetra, Bastion, and maybe a few more cant be equal to more skilled required characters because then their is no skill disparity which is horrible for a gane surviving off competitive pvp (and even if you ain't doing ranked the game has been more balanced when those characters named aren't meta across the board causal or not).
Life weaver was made to fill that same role of mercy in concept the problem is though he can only heal in downtime. Mercy has to choose between dmg boost and heal but life weaver is literally a heal bot (i.e the character design has flaws, 5v5 or 6v6).

A competitive scene doesn't mean only pro play (which was giving the game good attention), but also means you pull streamers, content creators, and players who love competiting meaning they will probably stay longer.
It's crazy you think this game survived through the dark ages due to a casual scene only lol. Most games survive off a competitive scene.

Meta shifted again after some buffs and nerfs. Tanks being meta or not also heavily affects whether or not Zen will or will not be meta.
Mercy will ALWAYS be +b tier. Ress is simply too op an ability and it should be removed.

I think most characters are situational. At least in metal and if your good at a character it’s better to play them then it is to play a character you’re bad at, just because it’s meta doesn’t mean you should play it. If your a crap at Lucio and/or Kiri play quick play and bot games and practice before playing them in comp, just stick with what your good at. Comp is not for practice.

As a lw main I can say that it either is fucking unkillable and has insane pulls and healing or he doesn't die but all of my teammates do

Flats is honestly getting on my nerves with the “you can’t buff this character cause then they’re “annoying”” it’s straight up obnoxious. They’d be “annoying” cause they’re good… that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get buffs. He complains so much about rein getting nothing but loves to say “oh characters like Sym and Weaver can’t be buffed” it’s like dude shut up, characters shouldn’t intentionally be bad
Started playing Mercy in QP. She's so fun to play with.

My basic rule of thumb: If it FLIES use hitscan. XD
Depending on the role I'd go Winston, Symmetra, Moira, or Illari(My fav against Phara).
