I really hope the Korea Tourism Organization should organize this information with the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs to give out this T-money cards at the immigration checkpoint with a simple brochure about how it can be used overall. And I really recommend to take the airport bus instead of subway to get into Seoul regarding all the luggages you bring with.
Gonna binge watch everything. Okay, okay. I lied. I'm going to watch one video every morning and one every night. I heard somewhere that spreading it out over several days maximizes the boost you get on the algorithm.

Nice, that Tmoney card looks really good and useful Megan and you did a great job explaining about it. Also I have a travel card similar to Tmoney here in Melbourne and its called Myki and you basically just top up on the machine at the train station and you can even do it in convience stores like 7 Eleven.
When you get your Alien registration card from immigration. You can open a checking account, ask the bank teller when you opening your account. If they can link your debit card to your t-money Megan, that way your not having to reload the t-money card

Hello Megan, thank you for sharing useful tips about T-money! I'm heading to Korea this month, I would like to check with you for the remaining amount in T-money card. Are we able to retrieve back in cash?
Hi Megan, Thanks for your videos. How much cash do you recommend bringing to South Korea for a 10 day trip? I don't plan to spend a lot on shopping, just basic transportation and food.
Good tip! Depends on your bank/which card you have. Some banks will refund you any service fees (check the contract). But yes! Always check the cards you have and the attached fees. It will still be cheaper to pull from an ATM rather than requesting money out of country.
thank you for your videos Megan, they are super helpful! I was wondering for your quarantine did you pay with credit card or cash? and for regular purchases like food and clothing, can you use american credit cards in Korea or do you pay mostly in korean cash?
Glad I can help you! 🥰 For everything I use my credit card or debit card. The only time I need cash is IF my cards don’t work (only has happened once) or I need to put money on my Tmoney card (you can only buy cards with cash and load money onto them with cash).
as far as I know the Namane card is kinda like a bank card, you can also put money on it to pay in shops, there are like two separate deposits for transport and payment in stores
Hi, Megan! My family and I are planning to visit Korea for vacation. Do we need to get T-Money cards individually or can we just buy 2 cards (1 for me and 1 for both my parents who aren’t really good with technology 😅)?
So if who ask, "Do all the natives take that card?" In fact, Koreans use that T-money card in conjunction with their cell phones or tag it with Samsung Pay. they don't have to carry it with card. It's one of the differences between natives and travelers.
Hello Megan!! TQ for the video once again. I'd be traveling with my fam. probably the 5 of us in total including 2 kids. We've already gotten our Tmoney cards here in Malaysia. I was told that we can visit like the Seoul station or convenient stores to change the settings for our kids card to "child rate" is that correct?? Is there a minimum value per top up?? How do we withdraw the balance of our tmoney card when we finish our trip? must we have a minimum balance for withdrawal? tq in advance
There is something called the MPASS and the Discover Seoul Pass that I found in my research… but I personally think transportation is so cheap that these passes seem a bit expensive. Whenever you transfer (so that could be bus to subway/subways to different subway line/anything you can think of that’s public transportation and not a taxi), you actually will only pay a tiny additional “transfer” fee rather than paying the whole subway/bus fee. So it ends up being very cheap!
Hi! I'm going to seoul soon.. worrying about taking the subway there. I'm not sure if all the lines there are working to travel all over seoul from places to places and also if some line's waiting time or interval time are long like waiting for 10over mins?
Hi there, nice video. Can I buy a t money card from the airport? And the 4000 won is the price for the card or I can also use them for my transportation?
Hi! Is it convenient to buy the Tmoney card when visiting the city just for 3 or 4 days? Did you say it costs 4000 won? How much do you save when using it? Thanks!!!
You’ll need the card in order to take most modes of transportation in Korea! They even stopped taking cash on a lot of buses. So you definitely need to buy it~ (you only save a little each ride but still - you’ll need it)
Thanks for the tip! For foreigners during Rona we weren’t allowed to go to any stores (we had to go straight from customs to quarantine). But hopefully in the future, yes!!
@@MeganOsten Hi! Do you know if this applies to Korean nationals as well? I really need to stop by the convenience store and the atm before quarantine😫
Hey Megan! Do the machines where you can re-load your T-money card use exact change only or can you get change from them? (e.g. Want to load 20,000 KRW on the card but only have a 50,000 KRW bill)
Hi Megan, I had a question if I may. I watched your video of your PCR experience. I am somewhat confused to say the slightest so I wanted to give you my flight times and hear your opinion on what I should do if that's ok. So I am from the U.S. and will be travelling to Ukraine. They require the 72 hour from departure PCR Test. I understand this but with the connecting flight and departure in another country is where I get confused. So I would be leaving on June 4th at 5pm from the U.S. I will have a connecting flight in Amsterdam at 7:15am (they are 6 hours ahead EST) which will be June 5. Then depart from Amsterdam at 9:30am then land in Ukraine at 5pm on June 5. So do they want my negative PCR Test results for the second departure? Meaning, does it have to within 72 hours for all departures? I'm just so confused on all of this and how to time everything.
Hi! I know it’s very confusing but everything will be okay ☺️ the first question you need to ask yourself is how much you’re willing to spend on a PCR test. The quicker the results the more you will have to pay. Then research how quickly you can get test results near you for a PCR test. I need these answers first before I can continue to help you! ☺️ Please message me on Instagram @MeganOsten or email me at meganosten@yahoo.com

I would have at LEAST 5,000 Korean won on your card at all times, no more than 30,000 (just in case you misplace your card - you cannot get the money back) 😊
I read that you can get Tmoney cards free at the Incheon airport official Tourist Bureau , anywhere else you need to buy the card. Either way you then need to put money into them, they c9me wit no balance. Anyone know if this is true?
Hi! If you are travelling with family and there are like three of you, Do we need to get a Tmoney card each or just one can do for the 3 of us? For the sim card, does it have to be one each too or one will work for the 3 of us? Thank you.
You will need separate TMoney cards but you could have one SIM card for everyone to share - as long as those you’re traveling with don’t mind not being able to use their phone fully unless there’s Wi-Fi (which is often but not always working haha)
The farther outside of Seoul you get, the less often T-Money cards are accepted *in taxis*. If there’s a touchpad on the armrest, or you see something that looks like a touchpad upfront, it might work… but if you give them the card, they try it, and it doesn’t work - that’s okay! Just give them a different card.

@@dolinainggolan339 because subways have stairs. If you have a lot of luggage, you can’t carry it all on the stairs.

Thanks for your videos. How much cash do you recommend bringing to South Korea for a 10 day trip? I don't plan to spend a lot on shopping, just basic transportation and food.
Is the atm written in hangul or can you choose what language?
ATMs just charge a transaction fee but I just read that the bank also charges a currency conversion fee of like 2-3%
