    Going to Seoul for the first time next week and so happy I came across your channel. Not the usual sensationalism and overhyping you see in a lot of other travel content, but instead genuinely likeable people giving useful information and insights into an exciting country. This video couldn't have better timing for me. Thank you so much & keep up the awesome work.

      Slowly working on a 7 day Seoul itinerary but waiting for Spring to roll around because if I film it now it's all grey and wintery haha. Hopefully it'll be done in April!

    Great video drawing attention to confusing aspects for first time travellers.
    Just as incredible are the free and impecably clean bathrooms. This wasn't the case as recently as 10 years ago though. I also miss the old transfer station music. The new one sounds like the starting lineup music to some Korean Basketball League team.

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks so much @Douglas-vh5bb! Totally agree that the old transfer music was way better. Also it's so true that bathroom cleanliness has improved so much in Korea!

    Great video; super helpful. I’m curious how you get it so that you can use your phone on the subway. I’ll be living here for a couple years, so curious if that might be more convenient. Does the phone setup just work for the subway in Seoul or is it like the T-money card and work all over?

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  11 дней назад

      Thanks so much @seanmcnichol I'm glad it was a bit helpful! To use your phone you need a sim card with an NFC chip inside (I think this is standard now) and then the Mobile T Money (모바일티머니) app, which works amazing together with Samsung Pay if you have a Samsung phone. You can then use it all over the country no problem, and Samsung Pay is compatible with the regular credit card machines here, so I don't even carry a wallet anymore.

    First time in seoul and their train system is actually very easy to use. Unlike in the UK, I got lost a couple of times. Lol. The good thing in the UK is that they accept credit cards as tap to pay. No longer required to purchase separate cards

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  3 дня назад

      Really agree with you there @pbatacan! That's nice that credit cards work in the UK. I think they are cash only in Korea just because they have to do anything they can to keep them cheap and not pay the card fees.

      @@lostthenfound 2 days in ive been commuting like a local here in korea already. Hahaha. Their trains are smooth and silent. I can say theirs is better than UK and US. So far, Korean subway is the best for me. Never been to japan yet though.

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  2 дня назад

      That's great to hear @pbatacan! Japan's subways are very similar to Korea's, but more expensive when you travel further and there are multiple companies so sometimes you have to leave the gates from one company and enter the gates to another company.

    SOOOOOOO HELPFUL. thank you!!! also, i noticed you're tapping your phone to access the subway. I will be there for 3 weeks is that something I can easily do as well??

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  3 месяца назад +1

      So glad it was helpful @irmazandl thanks so much! Unfortunately I'm pretty sure you need a Korean ID to get the SIM card that allows you to tap onto the subway/buses, so you'll have to buy a T-money card. A lot of people put the T-money card on their phone case though so it's kind of similar. Have an amazing trip!

    I'm going to Seoul in November and found your video informative. It seems Soeul's subway is similar to many places around the world, which makes it intuitive for me. You mentioned that you cannot top t money with credit cards. Are there places where you can top them up with cards?

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks so much @m1nhuh glad it was helpful! Unfortunately there are no ways to top up with a credit card, and only by cash.

    Even though, Japanese colonized Korea. I still think (as a Korean) the Japanese left behind some nice architectures, while Korea was in one of the poorest conditions. You should talk about the central station and more depth into the history about it.

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  7 месяцев назад

      I agree with you @sn350channel! I just meant this video to be a simple guide for people to use the subway system here, but maybe I can cover some of the history in a future video. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Sir, I am an Indian, I want to do a food delivery job in South Korea. Please get me a job in South Korea. Thank you.

    • @lostthenfound
      @lostthenfound  6 месяцев назад

      Hi there @annukg, unfortunately the only way to do food delivery in Korea right now is to get the F-2, F-5, or F-6 visa first, so you have to be living here already and speak Korean to get started.
