- Excited to install JDM Yellow LED fog lights the right way on my 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport! After making the mistake of putting 3000k HID's in the fog lights, I'm really happy with how this turned out. And guys, obviously the ramen noodles on the wing was a joke, I'm looking into a big turbo kit right now!

For others that are going to do this It’s pretty easy to remove the fog lights to do it off the car. The faux grills pull off from the outer edges by sticking a couple fingers through the vertical side vents you will feel some large tabs at from the inside back of the edge of the panel. Just press on them towards you to release the retaining tabs from the bumper slots they are held in. It is retained by a clip on the right side. Let the panel hang from the clip and get a stubby phillips screw driver and remove two panhead screws to remove the fog lights. Then unplug the harness and you could do it on the bench. I just did this on my crystal black pearl 2018 CTR. The only thing on my car the bulbs are not removable. When they go out you replace the whole fog light assembly.

Oh, I'm trying this for sure. Honda dealership finally found my car and in my first choice colour - white! I could potentially have it Friday. I like that you mentioned the abuse the fogs have taken so far and that doing it sooner may have prevented that stuff. I want to do this relatively soon after getting the car now. I also need to start vlogging hahaha

Highly recommend if you have yellow fog lights to install the clear Film for protection. The yellow LaminX will slightly change the color of the yellow lights.

Great video, but you do know Laminix makes the fog light pre cuts for the new Civic, correct? Im just going to buy the pre cut kit from them. My foglights and headlights on my 18' Si sedan have the same small rock chips. My Civic is a daily driver as well for about a year now. Im thinking or wrapping both the headlights and foglights using the Laminix pre cut kit.
I prefer same shade LEDs in front. I have 8000k on my civic. Low high and fog all same LEDs.

Hey bro, got the same things you did, looks amazing but one question, did you get flicking on the fog lights ? My left one started flickering than gave out. But is still on but not as bright as the other, any thoughts ?
Sounds like you got a defective one. I would recommend trying to get a replacement. Mine don't flicker, are pretty bright, and are consistent on both sides.
I see how to install fog light on driver side but how about on passenger side. Do I need to remove the bumper.
For those who will wrap thiers. You can remove tha foglight cover to warp your lights easier. Its just a few clips behind it.
If you have white LED fog lights from the factory, how many layers of the yellow vinyl do you need to get past the green hue? (I’m thinking I’ll need 2 maybe 3 layers)

After lowering your car on Eibach springs, how is the wheel gap for you? Did it get lower after riding with it for a while or is it the same? I’m thinking about installing it myself.
Wheel gap is a little under an inch on all four wheels. The car actually didn't really drop after a period of time, they sit pretty much where they did out of the box.
Will these lightbulbs fit the civic type r also?

I have a 2017 Honda civic. I have LEDs in my car and I put 6000K in my low beams and highbeams (The good quality). I put 3000K in my foogs(The cheap quality). I had them in my car for seven months, I work every night they are amazing. I bought the cheapest led fog lights I could find to test their durability and they are still working to this day. I prefer LEDs because they have a fan and I don’t have to wait for them to heat up or brighten up. LEDs are just on and off.
The bulbs look awesome. But I would like to have the yellow look when the lights are off as well. Do you think I could just go with the film and be ok?
Yeah, I think using just the film will still be really good on its own. The good thing is you could install the film and if it still doesn't have enough yellow, you can install yellow bulbs and it won't cost any more or take any more time than doing them together!

I'm curious how it'll end up staying since you didn't wrap around the edges of the foglights. But that would require taking the bumper off and such so I totally get it. Lol
Its held up really well because I used a heat gun and shrunk it to fit the housing. The film isn’t going anywhere unless I yank it off!

I had an 04 infiniti i35 stock xenon HIDs headlights with reflector housings...no issues
Whats the point of having yellow fogs if you cant use them for visibilty - i have 18 si sedan with sylvania yellow halogens in there and they work great - LEDs in reflector housings scatter horribly after a few feet - i covered the housings with clear laminx because i lost two housings to rock damage in 6 months last year - only issue is they will burn after a while if u run the fogs regularly
I installed the Lamin-x film about 6 months ago. I guess it burned or something because there are brown spots in the film right in the center. It’s also splitting in the middle
Mine did the same thing because the stock lights get very hot.
The same issue will not happen with LEDs since they stay cool.
Hey where is the 4th 10mm bolt you talked about? I know you remove the 3 from the splash guard looking thing but which is the 4th? Was it the one at the top of the screen?
Its the closest bolt to the outer side of the car. It holds the flap that runs the entirety of the front bumper
@@SoonerGarage alright thanks! I was doing fog light install today and saw the bolt was holding down the plastic cover 😂 I wish all 10th Gens were the same too. Like all the videos I see of fog light installs are of from a Si and those were a little different

Your not suppose to use leds in reflector housings either 🤷🏻♂️. You were Better off with the hid kit. The leds produce a lot of glare as well. Hid has more useable light just gotta aim them. Also why the type r wing

I just replaced my stock halogen fog lightbulbs in my 2012 odyssey touring with 3k yellow LEDs and, even on a minivan, they are pretty sick. You’re awfully amped up about them but I can’t really blame ya. P.S. removing those light posts in photoshop would be extremely easy. Otherwise, nice shots.
Those are hard water spots etching into the glass/plastic. my tailights on my 10th gen hatchback have them and its annoying. Now i always makr sure to waterless wash the car once a week to prevent them.
I wash a lot, hand dry and wax at least monthly myself. Clay bar is pretty effective after a wet season

The led game is improving. Checkout Headlight Revolution YT page for some videos on what bulbs look for. A lot of bulbs are crap

I’ve only added an aftermarket subwoofer. My speakers have degraded is sound quality pretty bad recently so I plan on doing a component speaker install in the next couple months.

Yellow light works better in fog as opposed to white so it actually serves a purpose. If not a minimal one.
