When you’re able to add new party members, you can create extra characters that specialise in barter, weapon/armour mods or toaster repair. Then when you need to sell a load of stuff or mod stuff you can just swap them in at HQ then swap back out once done. Same with toaster repair, just remember were the toasters are swap them in and spend ten mins going back there for your rewards. Also at level 7 or 8 you can get an extra 25% fire damage perk for toaster repair which is good for a dedicated flamethrower build while using Molotovs as well.
Me too bud. I find its usually pretty smart to wait at least 6 months before buying a game anyway. By then they've fixed all the bugs and added a few updates, and gotten the game to the state it should've been at launch. Also there's usually a lot of guides and tips vids too by then. Oh yeah! And its likely you'll get it on sale lol.
As someone who often buys games years after they come out at nice discounts on Steam, i really enjoy Guides like this. Aside from being informative on skills, perks and all i find your video especially well audible. I m from Germany and your English is very clear pronounced and so far very understandable - big thank you and carry on!
One notworthy quirk is the Lone Wolf quirk. This stops you from benefiting from leadership but grants you a massive initiative buff. This is handy to put on your leader, since leaders don't benefit from their own leadership bonus anyway.
*Toaster Repair / Armor Modding / Weapon Modding* : you can make secondary characters at the HQ that you use only to go to the toasters you found (note their locations down) and who can mod your gear at the HQ! Those characters specialize big time and are not normally in your party for the missions.
Major trick that effectively opened the whole game for me is the level 7 barter perk its called antique apraiser. What it does is when you sell items you get a 5% chance to sell an item at a way higher price, this also works when selling your junk which you can buy back at the standard price and re sell again and get the perk it doesn't work every time but if you repeat it it will happen again. I went from 2k money to 90k on my first attempt which allows you to stock up on everything you need early in the game, specifically Ammo and health items as this will help because 1 fight can easily take most of items if you arent very lucky which will obviously make your next fights extra difficult so being able to recover after each battle will help so so much.
I pretty much always have an initial go at character creation, then reroll maybe two hours in when I realise I've screwed things up. And then there's usually a third reroll in there before I'm happy. And if I can stomach playing the first 2-3 hours of the game three times in a row, it's a game worth playing.
With armor modding and weapons modding, it's more efficient to just create 2 soldiers at your base that have those abilities and then when you want to mod something, just go to your base and use those characters for modding purposes only, that way you don't waste valuable skill points in those skills.
Toaster repair was a HUGE benefit in wasteland 2. Some of the items you get from them are for quest completions and other side stuff that have great benefits and buffs. Plus lots of good items to sell. It is worth it especially later in wasteland 2 at least.
@@Dracobyte it provides you with many special, toaster-exclusive loots, notably the strongest armor set in the game aka The Verchitin. Other than armors, you can get your hands on many unique recipes of weapons/mods through out your gameplay

Love your work mate! This game is the answer to the question "what if you chucked a whole lot of Microsoft money at Brian Fargo and told him to go nuts?". I rate it 11 frozen ferrets/10.
Kinda surprised that there was no mention of the bop bag perk, the +6 armor boost is great for a tanky heavy weapons character so far imo. Really gives a nice starting boost
You should reconsider Death Wish. My Death Wish/Goat Killer Sniper shoots twice per turn, which means she kills two enemies per turn. Start her at 4 Coordination and 10 Intelligence (the criticals are how she kills with every shot) and you'll have her at 10 Coordination by level 8. At level 5, you'll be shooting twice per turn (with AP spare to reposition if your leader uses Rally) and your sniper will start deleting enemies off the field.
Something I experimented with and realised was broken in a bad way, you NEED to unequip skillbonus items before leveling that skill! Higher skill levels means higher costs for going up, and if you artificially boost your lvl with items this makes it so you are buying a high-cost level in that skill. Unequipping the items will bring the cost back down. I lost a few skillpoints to this early-on before I noticed. This is ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT on higher levels. I hope this gets changed soon.
Just a tip for anyone thinking of making a melee tank. Medical marvel is bugged right now. If you get downed out of combat, either via a trap, an environmental hazard, or damage over time carrying over after combat ends, then you can't be revived. Normally if you're downed during combat, you automatically get back up once combat ends, but if you go down out of combat, then you're fucked. The only way to revive someone with medical marvel that went down out of combat, is to use a rare and expensive (at least in early game) nitro. I'm gonna try and stick with it, and just be careful, but I just went through a very hard fight, where almost all my team went down, only for my tank to run through fire and go right back down after the fight. Now I have to load and do it all over again.
If youve a character with high mechanic skill, the auto turrets are a life saver. Ive got a mechanic, and a hacker character for robot friends, major tomcat from the prolog and an animal handler for my animal friends, and you can get the provost somewhere in the bizarre and a clone follower somewhere in colorado springs(vague to avoid spoilers) to equal
Game is looking great! My one wishlist item -- that wasn't in WL2 either -- is that Attributes were more tied into Skills. Like Intelligence giving a boost to First Aid and Weird Science, or Charisma improving Hard Ass or Kiss Ass. It's a simple system that the original Fallout games especially put to good use, and really helps increase character depth.
I have started the game to check how it was, and after a few hours and after your video and tips a will start again my definitive play trough. It was very helpful.
Umm it's sadomasochist (pronounced Say - Doh - Mass - Oh - Kist). Or as Wastelands 3 describes it; "you have a thing for pain"
Fun fact, the previous video I watched of another guy also coudnt pronounce it lol.And I did notice the "attribute" thing too, weird considering I am not a native English speaker!

You may already know this now, but the survival skill does NOT prevent encounters in the world map. Those will occur no matter how high your survival skill is - all the survival skill does is allow you to escape them IF you want, as long as your skill level is higher than the encounter level. So even if your survival skill is rank 10, you can have as many world map enounters as you want. It just allows you to skip them if you want.
Sadomasochist is pronounced "Say-doe-mass-O-kissed" it's someone who enjoys inflicting pain on themselves and others. Besides that the video is great very informative. I just installed the game and am getting ready to play. I am trying to think of character ideas for whenever I make the 2 main characters. Was thinking of doing something like from the movie "The road" like an older guy as a guardian/father figure to a younger chap. Game looks super fun.
Mechanics also allows you to DISABLE generators - like the ones that power enemy turrets. Combined with a decent sneak skill, you can go around and take out some of these turrets BEFORE combat even begins - making some fights MUCH easier
Made it to the end - definitely helpful. One thing though: everyone on the sub Reddit seems to think barter is really good, while you seem to be lukewarm on it. Apparently it’s really good.
-9% discount at max (and you don't even need max barter to reach -9% discount). For buying, alliance discount is a way more significant factor than a barter skill fodder ranger character could ever provide. So I only created a barter ranger for selling, with the occasional antique skill being proc-ed, you are looking at some decent money to give you space for consideration even at higher difficulties.
Ugh, that's true. I eventually just opt to use Lucia as my Barter in the standard team. All my rangers filled the other skills. However, if you are doing a run without using any of the barter quest option, consider only putting barter on a fodder ranger. Saves you a skill to worry about.
I wish all developers would release games at like 5pm PDT like wasteland 3. A lot of people get off work around that time in the USA, and when I get off work today I get to go home and play Wasteland 3 instead of waiting for a midnight release when I cant play.
I have Wasteland 2, but at times it was overwhelming. Glad to see this one has changed the skill system some what. Will being looking into getting this at some point soon.
*Deathwish seems perfect for a long range sniper class...perfect! +3 A.P. = 2 shots per turn. Take out enemies long range enemies so it negates need for armour buff for sniper!*

Not sure if this is PS4 specific, but I've found that you can gain two skill points from skill books. Once you select Read, the menu stays open, select Read again and you now have increased that skill again. It doesn't work a third time, though (tried it) instead, if you have another skill book in your inventory it will use that on a third try.
Thanks for taking the time to go over all of us in such detail. Can’t wait to get my hands on the game tonight. The original wasteland was one of my favorite games of all time on the Apple Computer. This should sure bring back some amazing memories.
Thank you for the video; it is insanely useful to see this side of the game before I start because it'll save me so much time and get me into the wasteland much more quickly. Also, I was already so excited for the game (I have it pre-installed, ready to go) and this video has helped keep me going whilst I wait.
Awesome, side note, the Intelligence Skill Point modifier is applied every time you Level Up, not just the beginning, a 8 INT character have 3 extra skill points per/level than a 2 INT character. And Speed has a hidden minor Action Point bonus, that's why they listed it as a recommended AR stat.
I've had this conversation three times on other forums, with the other person claiming the same and they were wrong every time. Even the devs said it's a one time bonus. Unless this changed like a day ago.
Thank you, its my first time with Wasteland game and first time in few years to play Rpg like that so i felt bit too overwhelming at start and i was affraid that i migt mess up my charakters :)

The bonus for Sex Machine and Vicious Avenger should have been swapped. Vicious Avenger should give the bonus to speed, and Sex Machine should give the bonus to penetration.
I don't recall being able to create 2 additional characters after the prologue. I can just hire premade ones at the Rangers HQ, or pick storyline companions. 🤔
I just bought this game on steam because of the Autumn sale $14 isnt bad for the game. Wanted to say thanks for the video because I was in over my head and the video helped. Thumbs up from me.
At the start of the video your bottoming out your mic with "ph" and "pu" sounds, you should get a wind filter for your mic. Later in it's happening with even more sounds amd really ruins the sound quality.
the submachine gun perks are actually broken. rush at them, extra dmg, be in open....spray tons of rounds so even if your hit chance on them is low...many rounds will still hit and is great for taking out/last hitting an enemy in cover. put a few str on'em so they can wear the better armor and yeah, i run in with 2 melee 1 brawler 1 blader and then follow them up with smg'r to finish them off or back up dmg. Plus, the precision ability mowing down half the battle field is actually broken. the only real downside is you CHEW through ammo. BUT, i didn't have a problem switching to a new ammo weapon each time I ran out of the previous. and just made sure that no one else used that ammo. with 2 melee champs and 1 sniper and 1 energy weapon user... it's actually pretty easy to just rotate 1 ammo for a high fire/dps mid range champ.
Thanks for the guide! I'm watching a bunch of these tip videos before I start. I have been waiting for this game to go on sale and it finally went on sale on Steam for $13.19 woot! I actually bought the bundle collection for $26.26. Awesome deal. Merry Christmas to me!

In the video you mention checking out your build video but I couldn't find it on your channel. I saw a walk-through but it's only 1 part and didn't even get to point where you have 4 rangers for a group build.
Skipped vigarian blood. I have a character that's small arms, leadership, medic & those three skills go together really well with vigarian blood. Basically leadership gives you and your team a bunch of boosts whenever you heal someone, and vikarian blood whenever someone goes down you get a huge speed bonus so you can definitely get to them unless AP to pick them up. And then leadership also grants a bonus to healing itself. So you heal them extra. And then small arms because you need the AP to still do stuff, if you try to do it with like heavy weapons or whatever you just run out of AP. Anyway my medic leader always takes vigarian blood and paladin. My sniper always gets sadomasochist and raider hater, my heavy weapons person always gets toaster repair, weird science, heavy weapons and/or explosives. -that being said if you choose to not have a heavy weapons person or you choose to split them up so like have one that specializes in explosives and one that specializes in fire you can split the skills up. Or if you don't have a heavy weapons person you could have all your four snipers or something each take one so they all get some kind of energy / damage boost.

1 charcter should invest in it for selling but for buying its not great
-9% discount at max (and you don't even need max barter to reach -9% discount). For buying, alliance discount is a way more significant factor than a barter skill fodder ranger character could ever provide. So I only created a barter ranger for selling, with the occasional antique skill being proc-ed, you are looking at some decent money to give you space for consideration even at higher difficulties.
@@CelesNihility Like nearly all skills, there are speech checks that Barter comes into as well. Barter can give alternate quest paths.
Time zones
Was still 12:30 am in the UK
A man in a video spoke to me to make a comment that I'd love to see a video about perks. This is such comment.
(awesome work!)
pretty useful thnks, was confused with the toaster skill, not disappointed in going all-in on it
I have Wasteland 2, but at times it was overwhelming. Glad to see this one has changed the skill system some what. Will being looking into getting this at some point soon.
Personally I stopped playing Wasteland 2 after about 4 hours. Wasteland 3 has me hooked, great game.
Oh, man, I have been waiting so long to play this game! Thanks for the info, mate, is gonna be really helpful for my character creation
Do I need to play the other games first
*Deathwish seems perfect for a long range sniper class...perfect! +3 A.P. = 2 shots per turn. Take out enemies long range enemies so it negates need for armour buff for sniper!*
3 ap isn't even enough to reload my sniper. Also, you will be flanked. Armor good, or get shredded by stray bullets from big guns. :)
This helped me understand not just a few perks but all of them thanks a ton.
Maybe recommend timestamps on your important bits for future reference otherwise great content my man! I just booted it up and was looking for something like this
Glad I'm subscribed to this channel.... I would have never known about this game
It needs to be on the raydar its a GEM!
@@ESOdanny gamepass gonna expose this to a fuck ton of people who wouldn't have been interested in the genre before and were weary of spending the full 60 dollars to try it out, it's just even better that the game itself has geared up to be phenomenal. I can't wait, so damn hyped for 28th!
Ruthwik Rao me
@@RuthwikRao that's how I got started on wasteland 2 because of eso the man is a legend
I have never played wasteland before but I’m counting down the clock to give it a try 👍🏻
This was very helpful. Thanks bro 👊🏽
Thank you for the video; it is insanely useful to see this side of the game before I start because it'll save me so much time and get me into the wasteland much more quickly. Also, I was already so excited for the game (I have it pre-installed, ready to go) and this video has helped keep me going whilst I wait.
Just started playing games after having it downloaded for months and man am I loving it
Awesome, side note, the Intelligence Skill Point modifier is applied every time you Level Up, not just the beginning, a 8 INT character have 3 extra skill points per/level than a 2 INT character. And Speed has a hidden minor Action Point bonus, that's why they listed it as a recommended AR stat.
Got a reference for this? all the beta info seemed to indicate INT only affecting starting skill points (unlike WL2)
Divinity original sin is bad as
Keep it up man! Great content as always.
I find this stuff never really makes sense to me till I play a little. So i have done the tutorial section twice now wandered around downtown colorado springs. Then I watched this video. And now I"m gonna restart for a 3rd play and I think i know what i want :p lol
Noticing Strength wasn't listed as a recommended attribute for Brawling. Does it only impact Melee weapons and not unnarmed?
Strength is good for all characters!
Strength does increase both hand and normal melee weapon damage. Any thing that buffs melee also buffs brawling/fist weapons
The bonus for Sex Machine and Vicious Avenger should have been swapped. Vicious Avenger should give the bonus to speed, and Sex Machine should give the bonus to penetration.
LOL
Game is 25% off on PS4 right now so I picked it up. This video was very helpful. Thank you.
I know you know that word. 😁 Haha! "Say doe mass oh kissed" Sadomasochist. Pleasure from pain.
Edit: I see this horse has been beaten.
I don't recall being able to create 2 additional characters after the prologue. I can just hire premade ones at the Rangers HQ, or pick storyline companions. 🤔
This helps me a alot, im new to this type of game and it is explained very good and understandable!
I’m definitely going to play this game when it comes out!!! Great job as usual ESO!!!
I love this game as I've never played wasteland series before I restarted about 6 times to get a decent start up
I just bought this game on steam because of the Autumn sale $14 isnt bad for the game. Wanted to say thanks for the video because I was in over my head and the video helped. Thumbs up from me.
I started off with the general's hat. Plus 1 to all stats.
How do you get?
@Mcarthy Wasright okay thanks, had xboc pass so didn't get.
At the start of the video your bottoming out your mic with "ph" and "pu" sounds, you should get a wind filter for your mic. Later in it's happening with even more sounds amd really ruins the sound quality.
Yeah, the sounds are called plosives and are blunted by mic cover or "wind sock". Good suggestion.
Pop filter?
Super excited to start this weekend. Great vid man.
Great now I have to spend more money. Lol. I’ll be buying this game, it looks good. Thank you for the great vid. I look forward to more.
the submachine gun perks are actually broken. rush at them, extra dmg, be in open....spray tons of rounds so even if your hit chance on them is low...many rounds will still hit and is great for taking out/last hitting an enemy in cover. put a few str on'em so they can wear the better armor and yeah, i run in with 2 melee 1 brawler 1 blader and then follow them up with smg'r to finish them off or back up dmg. Plus, the precision ability mowing down half the battle field is actually broken. the only real downside is you CHEW through ammo. BUT, i didn't have a problem switching to a new ammo weapon each time I ran out of the previous. and just made sure that no one else used that ammo. with 2 melee champs and 1 sniper and 1 energy weapon user... it's actually pretty easy to just rotate 1 ammo for a high fire/dps mid range champ.
every time eso starts playing a new game 9 out of 10 times I'm going to buy it
same lol
I literally haven't even finished my first paythrough and I want to start a new build to explore the game from a different perspective.
awesome
Mate amazing video - and thank you for time stamping things!!
Disciple of the Metal is quite good on a character with Toaster Repair and Weird Science since you can add a Fire Damage mod to ANY weapon.
Thanks for the guide! I'm watching a bunch of these tip videos before I start. I have been waiting for this game to go on sale and it finally went on sale on Steam for $13.19 woot! I actually bought the bundle collection for $26.26. Awesome deal. Merry Christmas to me!
Serial killer is good with sniper, cos you can usually one shot someone and you don't move much. so you essentially get two goes instead of one.
You can also create characters later according to other yt'ers, so you can create characters that are specific for modding or like later creating a dedicated medic.
Great vid bro
So with the poindexter perk if you use it on created characters late game do you get the back points from levels you already got as well or does it only apply to levels you get from creation.
Great video. So many builds to make. I just downloaded the game but haven't played been itching I'll get on as soon as I get off work. In the meantime I'm watching your videos.
You really are always covering the games I have on my mind. Thanks!
Great Video Dan as always
Thanks bruv. I am actually totally newbie for Wasteland series so through your videos I could get some tips to enjoy this new one with more fun. Thanks for real / btw I like your English
In the video you mention checking out your build video but I couldn't find it on your channel. I saw a walk-through but it's only 1 part and didn't even get to point where you have 4 rangers for a group build.
Love this in depth stuff man! Can’t wait to play this game
thanks for the video man its really help
I'd like to see a video about the pearks and how to activate/use them!
Good guide! Now I create my character...thanks!
I have always found your content to be helpful and informative. I would love to see some build/s to cover different play styles.
The best video about the game .. well done!
I love your videos mate, they are always super helpful
Nice introduction video. See you at the walkthrough battle brothers
Thankyou BATTLE BROTHER!
Just found my Wasteland guru. Thanks for the tips.
Fantastic video ESO very much appreciated
Great Video! I can't wait to play this game and this video actually helped me to understand the skills.
Did they change a lot between you getting the game and release? like perks, balance itd?
Yes quite allot considering the time frame, many things were rebalenced after feedback
@@ESOdanny So did your video include this changes? becouse if not than that video will be quite useless :)
Great video!! Thank you for your help.
Love your vids ESO! I'm looking forward to your Wasteland 3 walkthrough!
