Same my hair is literally so damaged because my mom permed my hair when I was young and thought me “straight hair is better” but I’m going to learn how to take care of my hair, let it grow out and cut it.
That middle part can be tricky, right? Glad I could help with that last piece of the puzzle! Keep rocking those locks, and always remember - the details make the difference! 👌🏽
Absolutely, every hair type matters and is beautiful in its unique way! When it comes to 4C hair, experiencing some frizz is totally normal. It’s a natural characteristic of 4C hair to have a more coily and frizzy texture. That being said, if you’re looking to reduce frizz, you might want to explore moisturizing products that can help nourish your hair and enhance its natural texture. Incorporating a good leave-in conditioner and sealing in moisture with oils can sometimes make a big difference. You might try products from Prose, Mielle, or Bounce Curl for tailored solutions. And remember, it’s all about what makes you feel great! There are no rules to this; it’s all about personal preference and embracing what you’ve got. Keep rocking your 4C hair, my friend!

I dry my hair right after applying products, using a diffuser on low heat. This method gives you curls that can last a couple of days, so it’s not just for dinner outings.

While I have a natural curl pattern, I enhance and define them using my specific routine. It's not just a wake-up-and-go kinda vibe, but the results are worth the effort. 3. **Leave-In**: Absolutely! PLEASE READ‼️‼️‼️ My mom has 2b hair so she didn't do much to it growing up. Her dad passed when she was 11 and the black side of the family stopped coming around. Her mother being white with pin straight hair didn't know how to take care of black hair. This resulted in lots of perms and now her hair is past the point of return in thickness, also doesn't grow past her shoulders. My sister (14) has 4c hair and I've been trying for years to get her interested in taking care of it since my mom never did anything past oil or moisturizer and puffs as a kid. She HATES detangling which is the biggest reason she won't do anything to her hair. We've tried undercuts (at my sister's suggestion) so there was less to manage, my moms friend used to do it for free in braids till she moved, and so they tried locks to be more low maintenance (My sister hated them tho and it took me a week to get them out fully.) Now she just keeps it short but still with no product so it's always so dry. She's finally giving small interest in doing something to it. I'm so determined to make a hair routine with good products for her hair so any info I can get will help.
I did this for my little sister with 4c hair. I’ve only got a white mom so I had to learn myself. Wash and go with leave in conditioner and eco styler gel (she loves this one). High puff with finger coils for defined curls. Box braids with added hair (if she doesn’t feel like doing her hair for a while). Slicked back low puff with edges done. Sectioned off finger coils with box parts (loves this one and you can put jewelry on the ends). Sometimes we add hair color wax to her hair to make it a different color. While you’re still learning box braids would be the easiest. With proper care you can make them last about 3-4 months. I’d also play around with high puffs. You can add color, jewelry, defined curls, or afros. It can be really versatile. Search up Fulani inspired high puffs and some very cute ideas and tutorials will show up. I really hope this helps! Best of luck ❤
If you have extra dry hair you can condition and do leave in. Especially with dry prone hair, it's better to do both because the conditioner still preps the hair. I usually do conditioner and leave in or deep conditioner/mask and then leave in. My hair stays moisturized for the week.
My hair gets really tangled very easily. I also have 4C so how often do you detangle your hair? And also how are you refreshing the curls in the morning when you go to school/work? Bc mine will look very dry
detangle every time you restyle your hair, refreshing is as simple as just picking and pulling ur hair out gently with ur hands until its in the shape you want. if your hair drys out too easily make sure to buy a satin bonnet and wear it every time you go to bed
It's gonna take time. Lots of it. Have him ash his hair beforehand and have use use conditioner. Once his hair is fully dry, spray some leaven-in on it or mist preferably detangler. Be very generous with the amount, but make sure npt to absolutely soak his hair. Next, with a wide tooth comb, start with the ends and work your way to the root. It will take a while, and it will be uncomfortable for him, but shirt of cutting it or going to see a professional- this is the way
Great question! Typically, you would leave in styling products to do their magic and help shape and hold your hairstyle throughout the day. However, you’ll definitely want to wash them out eventually to prevent build-up and maintain a healthy scalp and hair. I’d recommend washing your hair with a good cleansing shampoo at least once a week or every other week depending on your hair type and the amount of product you use.
