LTB is my favorite ink brand, and I've never seen such a comprehensive swatching video of their colors, so thank you so so much!! Really appreciate your time and efforts creating this.
Aww, thank you so much Nancy! ♥ I appreciate it so much!! This was a lot of work to do, but so proud of it and happy when you all find it as a helpful resource! :) LTB are indeed so darn good, I will be inking a few of them in my October Currently Inked video soon ^_^
Indeed, it's very interesting the way they dry differently from wet. Some are lighter, more muted/unsaturated looking, others change colors slightly. It's quite nice. I love red beans, but unfortunately, I have found a new Sailor ink that writes pretty similarly but more saturated once dried that is more suitable for my tastes. But I still need to use Red Beans in a pen to experience the depths of its colors! Thanks for watching :D
It's amazing how different inks can look through a camera, in different lights. I have a number of LBT inks and some of my favourites look incredibly different in your swatches. Love seeing a big bright family!
Yeah - xD I hope people will understand from what I mentioned, that swatches will look slightly different from each camera. But I think the color was pretty accurate to what my naked eye could see vs the camera picking it up. What's different is the method of swatching - since I swatched on a tiny space, the color is more concentrated and you see less of the variation of the ink's color. I think my swatches show the more saturated version of what the inks will look coming out of pens - like Aunt Tiger - the swatch looks vibrant, but I'm sure it is a lot lighter in MF or even Fine nibs. But I'm glad you enjoyed seeing all the colors as I did! ♥
Thank you so much for this! It’s so helpful. It is very interesting how the inks cool as they dry. I don’t think I’ve noticed that behavior in inks before.
You're welcome, Kristi! Thanks for the sub, too! I don't think this drying down cooler is a new effect of inks to me, but this quality is pretty rare. Most inks either dry down darker or stay bright - which is what we see more often, but the fact that these orange red inks came down a beautiful warm tone when wet and then the color fades and becomes cooler is fascinating to me, although I still really wished the beautiful colors when wet stayed xD
You’re welcome, Rosa! I thought so too, hence why I wanted to make this so it can be a great resource on YT for everyone who are looking into some new LTB inks or those who have never heard of this brand.
YAY!! ♥That's a great ink color for a muddy green! Pairs great with a cup of tea and a journaling session xD Thank you for watching until the end when you get there!
I need a sample of bird monster to add to my updated 2nd part of this LTB ink swatching video ^_^ There's so many. I just got coastal village and outback forest, which are the light brown and sage green, and I absolutely love them both! Those kinds of greens are just amazing. Thanks for watching, Rob!
This is so informative and a fun video! I love Lennon Tool Bar inks!!! Thank you for swatching these inks 😊 one of my favorite vids you have done ✨✨✨I need the Matcha ink. Looking forward to the updated video when you get more colors 🙏
Woohoo! So happy this was one of your favorite vids from me. I definitely will need to get the rest that were out of stock since I really liked some of those ink tones. Glad we both agree on matcha being a great color!
I had to record it twice since the first one was somewhat disorganized and I deemed it a test run halfway through haha!! A long and arduous feat but one that I feel proud to share with everyone. Thank you for your kind words!! And that Tieguanyin tea is such a lovely ink and a lovely unique tea series bottle to boot!
You can support me and Atlas with my code and buy all their bottles! XD I would collect all LTB ink bottles that I loved like how I have a lot of the Iroshizuku ink bottles lol
I would love to! The only thing is, Atlas takes forever to ship and the first time I ordered from them it took 3 weeks for me to get my order. I got so impatient I said never again😅 But I love LTB, I only have Sesame Oil. 😍 And iroshizuku is one of the bestest!!!!
Thank you for taking the time to swatch all these LTB inks, Lao! They are lovely. Three of the teas are my favourites - Sun Moon Lake, Muzha Tieguanyin, and Matcha, though like you, I think I’d prefer it if the colour stayed warm as the ink dried. I had heard some hype for Sesame Oil and was planning on purchasing it but now that I’ve seen your swatches, I’m unsure I love it as much. Aunt Tiger has more character and charm for me. Of all the LTB inks, I’m most interested in Rabbit God. I want to gift a few bottles to my LGBTQ+ students to help them get through their doctoral degrees. Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈
Yes, Warmer toned when dry makes me very happy as I can still see it as it’s very easy on the eyes that way. And that’s such a wonderful idea for your soon to be graduates! So exciting for them . I would have loved to have gotten ink gifts from my graduate studies professor, so they will definitely be very happy! I also agree with the sesame oil. It is very cool and dim in color. Will need a broader nib to show off the more saturated brown. I will see if I love it in my western medium nibs. So happy all the work with swatching has been helpful for you and others!
Thank you for the comprehensive video! I've definitely been sleeping on this brand, what an amazing array of gorgeous colours. It was also interesting to see the inks on different papers. If I had to pick a favourite based just on the swatches, I'd pick Muzha Tieguanyin Tea, love me a murky green.
Yes, I was thinkin of you when I swatched all those murky greens XD They're not my go-to, but I'm starting to appreciate and want to use them more since these LTB inks dry a bit cooler and I don't mind my greens to be cool or warm, but my reds and oranges I like them to dry slightly warm and muted. And yes, I was so shocked at how the firmament green ink behaved in iroful paper. I use Iroful sheets for penpal writing, so I will be so excited to use Firmament to write penpal letters with!
LOVEEE beautiful unique greens! ♥ xD I really want to get the rest of the green shades that I don't have here yet. So excited for when Yoseka restocks them or adds some of the newer greens into their samples list.
Eeep! Love seeing our stamp put to use 💕 Lennon Tool Bar Is amazing. I tried Sesame Oil two years ago and it’s one of the few samples that I’ve been like “I need the full bottle”. I especially love the ones that are Asian food-inspired. ☺️ I need to order me some bottles soon
Yeah!!! :D I loveeeee this ink stamp so much - I've already used up the money's worth that I spent on this stamp haha! ^_^ Matcha and Red Beans are fantastic!! :)
I'm of course partial to all of the blues, but besides them, I'm really liking Bombax Ceiba, Bitter Orange Tea, and Sunset Glow. Matcha also looks like it would match really nicely with my Le Boeuf George Washington pen, which just got a whole new lease on life after Kirk Speer fixed its scratchy misaligned tines and ground it to a Concorde nib.
I’ve never heard of that LeBoeuf pen and had to look it up. Matcha would be a lovely color to complement that pen indeed! And I’m so happy you got some wonderful nib grinds from Kirk at your nearby store the other day!! I can’t wait to try out the blues in my pens this sooner! They’re great summery and stormy colors!
Happy Pride month! 🌈Oh gosh, what a treat!! I can't wait to check out these colours. I've been back and forth between so many of their greens and brown inks, so it'll be great to see them against the only LTB ink I currently have (Sesame Oil!). Also, for anyone in Canada, Paper Plus Cloth in Toronto also sells their ink!
Ooo thank you, Alison! I’ll add that store to my list in the description box! Love that there’s at least a store in each region so there’s no customs charges for anyone ^_^ so many of their greens are totally up the alley for brown and green lovers XD I have not found a bright jewel toned green yet since they’re mostly muted and gentle colors!
I love that you swatched all of these! It is so helpful! Now I need to see which ones I want to purchase! I really want to try out Muzha Tieguanyin Tea and Firmament 💖
Everyone seems to like Muzha, and I do too! Can’t wait to ink it up. And thanks for your words, so happy to hear all the long recording and editing is well received and helpful! 🥰
@@PlanYourOneLife have you tried any that you like yet? I’m excited to use Red Beans in the new Leonardo I’ll be getting from Klarissa! 😍 also thank you for watching! Sorry I didn’t respond back when I saw this comment!
Aww, I'm so happy to hear this! Thank you, Karen. I hope you continue to enjoy my videos, let me know what kinds of stuff you like watching or are you pretty open to anything pen ink related? I like to review pens, do ink swatches, talk about pen topics, so I think I'm pretty all-around when it comes to content I release...but I know YT likes for channels to be pretty niche for them. Anyways, thank you for watching and your comments ♥
Oh their atmospheric line of inks are so interesting! But also so darn wet! Sunset glow is one I really want to try out in a pen soon. I love that they’re named after beautiful natural scenery too!
I have the full bottle of aunt tiger because I love Tigers lol. I had it in a mf sailor and the color was light but still legible and beautiful. Another bottle I have is Aunt Chair which is a muted sage green that I adoore😍
@@wolfie1393 I could have sworn I responded to your comment! Did yt delete or am I just old! lol thank you for watching and sharing your experiences! I just got some more of the rest of the inks from yoseka and I really love coastal village and the sage green forest one, which might be similar to aunt chair. Sadly aunt chair was still sold out 🥹
I’m nothing if not biased to murky greens and blurples, so my favourites are Muzha tieguanyin tea and hydrangea. Intrigued by aunt tiger and sunset glow though…
@@waahtever I got so many ink samples now from them for this video and I can’t find the time to try them all in my pens quite yet, but the muzha tieguanyin tea is one that I am eager to try first among the rest of them! I just hope aunt Tiger isn’t too light as that’s one I want to use in a pen too. Great choices! 😍
Papier Plume has a very similar Red Beans &Rice to this Red Beans which I love too! Okay, I know I’ll enjoy watching you swatch all of these. Thank you! ☺️ I think I’d like a bottle of Qiancong or Asagi, Jimmy is also gorgeous but reminds me a lot of bleu azure by Herbin, which I love and have a bottle of, so that’s a no even though it’s beautiful!
Thank you so much for watching - and if you watched the whole thing (through all the ads and all LoL), I truly appreciate it! Red beans and Rice is such an interesting name - really lovely shades of red, brown, and pink in that ink! And just an FYI - I just learned that Qiancong and Asagi are the same ink! Since I had Asagi for over a year now, the ink may have dried up a bit hence the darker color. So if you get Asagi, just know it will be exactly like Qiancong in my swatch xD
@@KenchanKrafts I sure did watch it ALL! Wow, how interesting about those two inks, I have noticed that samples got darker on me, so your bottle stayed the same and the sample darkened, right? Crazy! I am on the hunt for a bottle of Kobe Hydrangea (got a sample from Lorelei), hopefully I’ll be able to get it from yoseka at some point and then I’ll also have to get a bottle of LTB, also got a sample of aunt chair from Lorelei and that’s gorgeous too! Happy writing!
Nice video Lao. You helped us see and appreciate this colors better. It is hard to see the true color of these inks just by looking at the swatches from Atlas in their website, the colors change radically just from one picture to another of the same ink. You helped me to pick my 3 favorites and I already ordered my first one (Sesame Oil), 2 more to follow latter 😊
Hey Manny!! ♥ Thank you for those kind words - I'm so happy this video helped show the colors of the ink better. I really wanted to see a wider range of shading of the ink because most of the time from a fountain pen, you get a slightly lighter shade than the brightest swatch on the paper. But the Iroful paper was able to show off some of the lighter tones so people can be prepared to expect the range of light to dark tones they could get from all nibs.
@@KenchanKrafts yea, you are right, once in the pen, inks will show up a bit different while writing, but it is still very useful to see in in swatches like you did here and with better light, so we can have a better ideo of what to expect from an ink.
A lovely video…. It’s probably a good thing that I can’t get these inks 🤪 I love so many of them but I’m in a blue mood at the moment as I just took delivery of the Nouveau Bleu Estie which is beautiful 💙
xD but you can get them from Stilo e Stile - unless it does cost more to get it there, too haha! Nouveau Bleu Estie would go SOO well with Hobe or Hehuan Blue ;) 💙
I have put in an order for a few of these … I also have a couple other Lennon tool bar inks not shown here. Atlas’s 15% off with codes is nicely used today
Yes!! Father’s Day weekend 15% is awesome!! Best time to stock up before the next 15% sales! These inks are a great investment next to the pilot inks! Thanks for supporting the Atlas Affiliates! 😍
Not sure if you knew this but Qiancong and Asagi are actually the same ink! For some reason Yoseka uses Japanese names for their Indigo Color series (for example, Tiegan is named "Tetsukon" on their site). The sample probably looks a bit darker because you mentioned you've had it for a long time.
Oh my God, I knew something was fishy in the air!!!!! And that they looked way too similar lol! Thank you for the clarification. I now know I love the color and ended up getting the full bottle lol!!
@@ordinarynights1224 😍😂 if any ink bottles are worth collecting, it is LTB! They’re such great and lovely muted colors but very wet flowing. They’re the muted and dusty ink line akin to iroshizuku. All the inks behave relatively the same.
@@KenchanKrafts No problem at all! In fact, you just inkabled me to order Qiancong because I love how it looks in your swatch. I was always worried it would be too pale to be legible but it looks lovely!
@@ordinarynights1224 indeed, we’ll love it!! It’s gorgeous, but about what I said about my first experience with asagi, I didn’t test it in enough pens, but also another color probably fit better in the pen I was going for at the time. So I hope Qiancong meets your expectations!
Love the video. I love ink swatching videos and seeing all the ink colors and properties, great color palette. I only have Sesame Oil and love the color, it took about a year for me to get it. I finally bought it from Atlas, it's been sold out at Yoseka so long... I been interested in these colors since I seen them on Yoseka's online store and never knew there were so many.
Hi Tina! Thank you so much for your comment! Glad you enjoyed this swatching video - I'll do more swatching videos of ink brands in the future where I have a ton of them :D There really are SO many LTB inks! I like to think of them as the more abundant version of Pilot Iroshizuku because the inks behave very well from pens like Pilot's ink, but with a bunch more variety. I'll have to find a pen that will show off sesame oil's properties the best since it dried down a bit too light for my liking. I want that lovely saturated color in my swatch xD
@@KenchanKrafts Currently, I have about 165 ink samples and bottles in my collection. I have Sesame Oil in my Franklin-Christoph Model 46 Cathedral pen to see how it behaves in the pen with an EF SIG nib... I'm hoping the ink will shade well...
You’re welcome, Deb! Hope you found some interesting inks here you’d like to try out! :) And don’t forget to use my discount code to save on these lovely inks at Atlas if you decide in the future you want a bottle of these inks. Atlas is a lovely store if you haven’t heard of the store. Lovely people as well!
Love the 3 teals (Asagi, Jimmy, Home) and am not opposed to the 2 olive-y greens, Madagascar Almond & Healthy, but dang those charcoal grey inks on the right side…they all look sooooo similar. Close up you can see the variances but Wow! Great comprehensive list. I love doing stuff like this and even more interesting seeing others do it. Well done Lao. Thanks for the Google sheet too! 😊 Also, even tho it can be more expensive to buy samples, comparatively, I find when I get the bottle (cept for BPC inks) I just don’t use as much. So get the sample, see if I really, really, REALLY like it and only then might i be persuaded to get a bottle of it 😆
Exactly! I think the samples are more economical AND frugal as I KNOW I do not have the means to finish a full bottle BY MYSELF anytime soon. And the bottles take up more space if I were to only buy bottles, so that would be wasteful space and money in the long run. Thank you for popping in and watching my video, Grace! So lovely to see you enjoying my ink videos (which I do not have a lot of yet, but will hopefully do more!) Yes, the charcoal inks at the end...I feel crappy having bought so many but LTB has way too many of those shades to begin with! WHY!! Pilot only has 2 grey shades lol!! So I most likely will be giving these charcoal inks away since I personally don't use greys.
@@KenchanKrafts Like you, Lao, I like having a couple grey inks on hand…Diamine Earl Grey being a big fave (actually ended up getting a bottle of). I like a couple of the LTB greys but would prolly get one of the greens 1st.
Excellent video, your attention to detail is admirable. I have Red Beans & Sesame Oil and love them both very much. I'm thinking about getting Wenshan Pouchong Tea and Sun Moon Lake Ruby Tea. Btw aside from your affiliate discount, Atlas' prices are several dollars less than Yoseka's.
Yes indeed!! It’s $17 at Atlas right now and $24 at Yoseka. Plus Atlas is working their way to having ALL the possible offerings from LTB, which I so appreciate them for doing that! Red Beans just looks so rich and lovely! I’ll need to use it in a wet pen pairing to see that lovely rich color as I think drier pens might make the ink look more cool and unsaturated. But so happy to hear you have two of the same full bottles as me! We seem to have similar tastes lol!
I have a few of these on a wish list. I really like Red Beans, Sun moon lake ruby tea, Sesame Oil, Firmament.... Okay there are a lot of good colors lol. I have one LTB ink called i-a-koo which is a green. Thank you for doing this video and showing all the beautiful colors. At Atlas I was torn between i-a-koo and Firmament.
I don’t think Yoseka had any samples of I-a-koo left, which is such a lovely muted green! I really wanted to try out that one, so if you love it, I know I would too! I like my warmer colors to be warm, but a green I’m good with all tones cool and warm. They indeed have way too many great colors lol
What an amazing resource video. Of course a few will jump onto my to buy list 😆 I also think Sherry might be a good match for a Leonardo 1/1 I have that has been so tough to match
Thanks, Olivia! And ooo, what is that exclusively unique 1/1 Leonardo? XD Did you get it exclusively done or was it a one off from somewhere? Sherry is such a beautiful peachy pink color to use! I hope you enjoy the combo if you get it :)
I picked up the one of one when I was in Italy. Casa Della Stilografica seem to get these pens from Leonardo. They had an ebonite one of one when I was there and I snapped it up.
@@oliviatrelles That's so awesome! I have a friend that just went to Stilografica recently and it was next to a Jollibee xD not sure if that was the same store if you don't recall that restaurant next to it. I want to go to Stilo and Casa della Stilografica someday when I go to Italy. :)
I was in Italy in February and this store is in Florence. I wa so focused on pens there could have been a unicorn convention next to it and I wouldn’t have noticed 🤣 Florence only has a few stores, Rome for sure has the most. In Lucca there is an excellent store as well. Honestly I could go back to Italy just to visit small pens shops and be thrilled!

I forgot to mention - I love LTB inks and can't get enough of them! I think I have around 31 bottles - and possibly more to come...
I remember getting a wonderful Macha ice cream cone at a temple complex in Kyoto.
That’s so awesome, Tom! Memories like that stay with you XD one day I’ll make a memory like that, too in Japan!
Never heard of this brand, thanks for the introduction.
This video is soooooooooo helpful! 😍 But also evil...because now I'm going to go buy too many Lennon Tool Bar inks.
@@snarkywordsworth 🤪😜😋😛 you already know! That’s how I roll hehe! I’m a helpful little devil!😈
Also, even tho it can be more expensive to buy samples, comparatively, I find when I get the bottle (cept for BPC inks) I just don’t use as much.
@@KenchanKrafts It is a beautiful green. I too like greens warm or cool.
Hello Lao, so much work done! I can’t pick a fav- it would be at least 5.
haven’t tried any LTB yet- I need to find samples 😊
Did you put some inks in pens- you mentioned that they are on a cool tone color scale.
Yes, if you look closer at the LTB on the Fox stamp, that is bitter orange tea with my Aurora fine nib! You can compare it with the swatch. :)
Oh my! Bitter Orange Tea looks really nice, as do Successful and Hydrangea 🍊🍵💙👏💜
Also, I really like the styrofoam (?) sample holder. Did it come with your order at Yoseka, or did you buy it separately; if so, where please? 🙏
Hi Basta! Yes that tray came with the yoseka order! If you get about 16 or more samples, they come with the styrofoam tray 🥰 well, mine is a 7x6
@@KenchanKrafts 🙏👍
We def want to swatch it :33 they all look so beautifullll
Haha! I meant that you wouldn’t have to buy all of them to swatch like me lol but maybe some of you do want to do that, too! If so, I welcome you to go for it and have fun with me. Swatching is so fun and relaxing! Thanks for watching and enjoying it ^_^
@@KenchanKrafts i was kidding but yes, def would love to have a big swatch party. but, I dont think we can do it like you, you do it soo well.
