Thank you guys so much for taking the time to make this video. I'm going in for my interview tomorrow and suspecting that they'll separate us because we do have a big age difference, some of the other minor red flags you mentioned. Nothing major thankfully. So it was really reassuring that you spoke specifically to that. I've been watching a bunch of videos and I think by the grace of God we'll be fine 😌

Nice Information. It would be very good of you to let us know regarding filing I-751, the USCIS mentioned to give federal and state tax return . Tax accountant gave the tax return client file which include all.Should we submit the client tax return file given by tax accountant or should we submit the tax return receipt from IRS ? Moreover IRS has not state tax return and how to get state tax return ? Lastly two Money orders separate for biometrics & form or one money order for togetherMaam ?
Hello, @samarpanacademy3813, Glad this is helpful! Regarding the tax filings, in our experience, USCIS likes to see transcripts from the IRS as proof that taxes were not only prepared, but actually filed. However, they will also accept copies of prepared tax documents, but may provide less weight than they would to a transcript. Regarding fees, it is important to verify how and what amount to submit to avoid rejected filings. We recommend looking them up using USCIS’s fee calculator, which you can find here: www.uscis.gov/feecalculator. Please note that separate biometrics fees are no longer required as of April 1, 2024.
@@jlw.immigrationlaw Thank you so much and well noted, one last question we do have my wife opened the uscis account for me when I was abroad to file the case from USA and she didn't get USCIS online account number option despite reseting password and opening. Now while filing I-751 the option of USCIS online account number box should be left blank or N/A at this time. We would be obliged to get this answer ?
@@samarpanacademy3813 Hello, In our experience, finding the USCIS account number can be very challenging. If a client has a USCIS account but does not know the number, we write “Unknown” in the field for that number. If they do not have an account, we write “N/A.” Hope that is helpful!
Quick question: If the beneficiary had a social security when he went to school in an American university thru government exchange program (more than 40 years ago), he went back home and now , as the beneficiary in an I-130 parent petitions does he have to provide this old social security number in both I-130 and /or I-485?
Hi, Chari, This does happen sometimes as part of USCIS investigations; however, I have only ever heard of this happening in cases where fraud is suspected, perhaps because the petitioner has already filed for multiple prior spouses or there is some other red flag in the case.
Hello Ms. Gates! Thank you for the very informative video on I130 and I485 adjustment of status interview. I have an approved I-140 EB2 NIW being processed under Consular Processing in India. I am currently living and employed in Singapore, and hence during my forthcoming visa interview I am concerned about getting a confirmed letter of employment in the US. How critical is it? If I am unable to get a confirmed employment letter, can I show some informal communication (email, chat transcripts) with US employers on potential future employment after I get my greencard?
Hello, Saumitra, In my experience, having an employer letter is important. However, I definitely recommend that you ask this question of the attorney assisting with your NIW case!
I want to know how about if the petitioner is died because our petition denied because my father died our petition priority date is aug 1998 F1 what happened now about the petition mam? I want to know

Hi, Roselle, In a situation involving separation, I would definitely recommend visiting with a trusted attorney before the appointment, and potentially hiring someone to represent you if you can. A separation can be fatal to an adjustment of status case, though it doesn’t have to be. It is a complex situation that deserves careful attention and handling. We would be happy to consult with you and help you understand your options if you would like. Please do not hesitate to reach out at jlw.law.
Hi. We submitted 2 forms (I-130 and I-485) at the same time. We had a marriage interview 2 months ago. Form I-130 was approved. But we have not received the green card yet. How quickly did you receive your green card? How long can it take to get a green card?
Hi my situation is same as above but I got approved form I-130 like 3 days after interview. One month down still nothing letter stated interview was complete account being review. I am so confused. I had DACA prior he stated he was missing part my package so obviously he had requested it that’s why he couldn’t make decision on that time being.
Hello, While we can’t provide advice about a specific case in this forum, generally speaking, family members who are born or acquired after the I-130 is filed may be eligible for “following-to-join” benefits, which would allow them to immigrate based on the same I-130 petition as the principal beneficiary, or within a few months of the principal beneficiary becoming a U.S. resident.
Hi, Chari, This is a great question. Some USCIS officers will not be concerned about a large age gap, others may decide to separate you and your spouse during the interview. If you are separated, you will both be asked a series of personal questions and expected to answer them the same way - for example, “Where did you spend the holidays last year?” or “Did your spouse shower this morning?” In my experience, sometimes couples make mistakes in answering these questions or don’t answer them completely uniformly - this does not automatically mean the case will be denied, so long as there is a reasonable explanation. For example, one of my clients said “Yes” when asked if her husband had showered that morning, and her husband said “No.” Upon further questioning, it turned out that the husband usually showered in the morning, but that particular morning he had taken his shower the night before in order to be ready to leave early for the USCIS interview. His wife was already asleep when he showered, so she didn’t realize what had happened. The key is to be prepared to share honestly and request a supervisor if the officer is behaving unprofessionally or asking questions that make you too uncomfortable to answer. Hope this helps!
Hii can you please tell me. If my marriage completed more than 2 years of my marriage at the time of my I-485 interview. Will i get a 10 years Green card?
Ok so i dont get it ?? If a couple is filing legit..... Why in the heck would anybody be so nervous and not be able to answer questions and especially why would the officer even deny a case if no lies or false info was submitted??
People could be nervous because the officer is intimidating or due to language barriers, maybe the applicant is not fluent in english. The officer doesn't know whether the information given by the applicant is true, therefore the applicant must prove that their marriage is sincere and "bona fide".

Many applicants do not have a SSN, that should not be a problem. You can simply let the officer know that you have not gotten your SSN yet.
