@@MrWill830 It never stops to be. I've tried almost every high end shoes from UP, except the Souped UP that fits 99% my feet everywhere, every other are just hella painful at first. but best rubber on the market for plastic and that's what I do mostly. Souped amazing for soft sandstone in Fontainebleau also. I just bought a pair of Qubit today at street shoe size for sport climbing haha
I'm surprised they're still using some of those older style big Friends with no thumb loops. Having a thumbloop and the trigger keepers on the new BD C4's in size 4 and up makes them a joy to handle for wide cracks.
@@Govanification Wow, I didn't even notice that! I think it's because Pete is sponsored by Wild Country. I had to go to the Wild Country website to see if the bigger Friends have thumb loop, but no. Numbers 5,0 and 6,0 don't have it. Definitely an upgrade that is needed, especially for a bigger cam, as the head is heavier and makes your thumb slip easily when placing it. And the trigger keepers in BD cams are nice too. 🙂
Such a slick and solid performance as usual! Can't wait to see the new pump fest any time soon! Is there anything coming? Something like Thoughts & Prayers at Mount Evans may be?
Hey maybe someone can help me. Im doing a crack in my hometown but im having problems. What i have to do if the crack IS too wide for a handjam but too narrow for a fistjam?
Cupped hands, like a hand jam but really bridge your fingers and back of hand against the sides. Try doing that thumbs down and torque your elbow down, that will fill some space. After that you can do a "squashed" fist jam where you make your hand into a cone shape to get it in the crack sideways like a regular fist jam but it fits a bit smaller.
For normal people, the La Sportiva TC Pro is an incredible crack climbing shoe. As a matter of fact, go slightly larger and wear socks. For me, that works quite well. EDIT: I don't climb 5.13 cracks; I'm more of a 5.10 thrasher 😀
I wouldn't try it next week. But as far as i know, the army is currently installing a temporary bridge. The route is probably not going anywhere. Give it some time to get a weather change and the ground to dry a bit. But i wouldn't expect that the roads are fully open to tourists in the next couple weeks, since there is a temporary bridge between Visletto and Cevio (main road). If you're interested, there are English news on "swissinfo".
Haha that’s offwidth for ya. But poor Mari, traumatized? 🤣 Maybe you haven’t watched some of her really challenging sends. I love how you can see the effort on her face, and I’m sure she’s enjoying it a lot.
Pete, I'm sure that climbing enthusiasts - especially those who want the challenges of the more formidable climbs - learn an encyclopedic amount from your instruction. You're quite wonderful both in climbing and instructing . . . and you're easy on the eyes too. :) May God protect you, and open your spiritual eyes to the wonder of the Creator through His creation.

Mari is such a beast! She looked like she was more traumatized than excited after finishing that route. Lol
This was actually an enjoyable "ad" or "product placement". It's more of a genuine review than anything else really
Pretty honest too, as he legitimately sent all those routes using those shoes. I'd love to try some UPs some day.
@@Govanification I'd love to say me too but I tried jamming my fist for the first time today and it was horrendous lmao

Voice over from delightful Mari could have been fun for her ascent too 🤩
Such nice to have this type of treats on an unsuspecting Sunday evening 😊
THIS is the kind of Wide Boyz production we love!
Almost dropping that #6 at 14:50 made me a bit nervous 😅

Bravo Pete and Mari.
That French crack was like claustrophobia and vertigo all in one! And that catch of the gear at the top was clutch!!
I love commentary videos like these, so immersive and insightful!
Banger! You both are impressive af!
So fun to watch the different styles of crack climbing. Both are inspiring in different ways!

14:49 great reflexes!
Disappointed not to see you wallop in a huge hex in that hole. Still a great effort and great video though Pete!

@@Govanification thanksss
The green Cam was huge. 😲
good job Pete, what a magic line that. Also offwidthing is so heinous!
Somebody asked me once what crack climbing is like, I told them it was like "vertical potholeing:

I was wondering: is the crucifix still a project? Anybody knows?
Anyone that knows what brand Maris hoodie is? It looks super comfortable
imagine some climber in the 1950's seeing this haha
Is the route still accessible after recent flooding and landslide?
I am not sure, as I have not been in the area for a couple of months, hopefully someone local can provide some infomation.

That poor girl looked traumatised after that.
I thought the exact same. Not even a smile to be finished.

Nice to get all the betas 😊 . But it turned the video into a really boring 17min 😔
