The album was recorded at Urchin studio in London. It has the lustre, depth and sonic clarity which only a fully equipped modern studio with a great acoustic can bring to bear. Plus the time for the orchestra to stretch out in space and recording time. This recording promises to be the one which sets the standard for any other ukulele orchestra recordings. There are old and new popular songs, obscure but choice oldies, twisted covers and mash ups, and the inimitable jollity, joy and exuberance of the orchestra's celebrated style; from hard rocking classics to moody ballads via a confluence of Woodstock and New Orleans Mardi Gras.

Not lucky but an extremely hard working talented ensemble ...first 29 years they did over 300 concerts each year from village halls to festivals and world renown stages...started as a bit of fun, i guess they are lucky doing something they love ... (they must hugely miss live performances). As a fan we have got lucky and massively grateful for the treasure trove of musical video gems released during the pandemic ...13 original covers during isolation + 5 concerts (with c40 more covers), plus + several more musical gems + plus 26 other video tutorials, documentaries and other ukulele inspired videos, plus five online pay to view concerts.
lol i repeated myself... the 5 concerts with 40 more unique covers is the same as the five online pay to view concerts...i just doubly grateful i guess... ....Realising, despite the 26 albums the Ukes are very much a live ensemble I do wonder how many other musicians have been half as busy during lockdown

@@UkuleleOrchestra Hi Zoe, I was coming to see you perform in Cambridge at the Corn Exchange with my fellow Ukist's in the MUGS, that's March Ukulele Group, we are an all ability group, and definitely just do it for fun, though our wonderful leader Sally is a professional musician and teacher, and I have learned so much from her, we had our first in person meet last Monday, it was so wonderful to see my friends and play together again, we have been doing Zoom sessions every Monday since the first Lockdown, but it's just not the same, as and when you are able to come my way again I plan to be there, Covid restrictions permitting of course, keep up the wonderful work my friends, you are all very special people and you don't know how much you mean to all of us Love and best wishes to you and yours, keep safe Julie
Hold on - this amazing orchestra has been going for 29 YEARS and I have only just heard of them!!!! At least one good thing came from this pandemic!

Love this group. Talented, hard working and still don’t take it too seriously. They add so much enthusiasm, enjoyment and humor in their performances!

The weird irony is Tiny Tim looked _less_ freaky as he got older and his health declined. Dude was a virtuoso on the ukulele though. I think that's why other musicians (including the Beatles) respected him so much.

Beforehand had anyone asked me to listen to a bunch of people playing a ukulele I would have just looked at them strangely and said "oh hell no!" But after discovering these guys if I was asked that same question the answer would definitely be an emphatic "Oh hell yes!!!"

Happy father's Day everyone
Though it's not the ideal way, I'm still thrilled to see all of you in the same frame. Just waiting for the dastardly virus to scoot and for the live gigs to begin again. Thanks for sharing the stills. All of you are legends and I have immense respect for the effort, creativity and consistency you have and continue to have to establish the ukulele as a part of mainstream music and not have it hanging in the fringes to be played at parties because "guitars couldn't be brought along". So many pictures of Kitty; as an ardent fan, it's still so tough to come to terms with the loss.
I wish to see you all perform live soon (live through multiple zoom windows doesn't count in my book). Get your jabs. Stay safe from the Delta variant. Take care. Love from India❤️🙏!

If I ever become Supreme Potentate of the World, no full symphony orchestra will satisfy me, thus I shall have the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain play for me. Between UOGB and "Braddah" Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole, I really want to learn to play the ‘ukulele, but I must overcome my stupid-fingers… and being too old to learn…
