The third looks at your posture, how you carry yourself. The fourth looks for consistency. The rest await for the others report.
I remember the day my Primarch, Roboute Guilliman, asked me a question about the Kriegsman. It was a mundane question, one he could have even guessed the answer to. The question itself birthed a litany of other questions and a single teared statement. "Why do they wear the masks?" I turned my head to meet his eyes and I wondered at the question, he meant it literally, he didn't know what they were, rare that my Primarch would be ignorant of anything, especially history. "They are the Death Korps of Krieg, they always wear them, their homeworld has a toxic atmosphere." My Primarch nodded, I could still see in his expression that another curiosity lingered, and then he gave words to the emotion. "They never remove them? Why? This atmosphere isn't toxic." Instead of answering I shook my head at the ground, it was a tragic tale, gifting their history any thoughts would bring most to their knees, even Space Marines. "Kriegsman believe that their war, their duty, is everlasting. They think that they need to be ready to fulfill the Emperor's will at any moment. They're not so equipped for war as they are equipped for their own death, to slow their impending doom so they might give the Emperor more use, no matter how miniscule it is, they will give it gladly. It's how their entire planet is." His eyes tracked mine and maybe he saw my internal agony, I had weathered a thousand battles, but I had never relayed the history of Krieg, the history of their heresy. "Their entire planet, is like this? Grim, inhuman, emotionless... soulless? Why?" I wanted to refuse to answer his questions, but I couldn't. "The sons of Krieg are not as you say, not soulless, they live their lives for the Emperor. I once visited Krieg, the planet was a hellscape. A hellscape devoid of the Emperor's grace and beauty, it was a place where the Emperor's Peace would be refused by its populace, they would believe that their own lives were worth less than the mercy of death. Most of these soldiers are children, sons fighting so the war their father's waged might be forgiven." The words did not strike true with the Primarch, there were still questions unanswered, a history he did not understand. So I told him of the beginning, the treachery of Krieg's highlords. The resistance that sprouted from Colonel Jurten, his cry for help that went unheard into the darkness, and then his headlong charge into the jaws of death, his faith in the Emperor alone guiding him. I told him of the war, the brutal unyielding war that never ended. The generational trenches that spread across the entirety of Krieg, the dried ocens that turned into fields of lasgun fire and artillery barrages. The genetically enhanced beasts that carried faithful soldiers into the fray of the heaviest combat, equipped to die, never to survive. "Five hundred years, Krieg fought for five hundred years in unending war. Jurten's own forces were all dead before the end of the first decade but Krieg's sons and daughters bred a new army. An army that marched over the luscious fields that once existed and left war in their wake. They finally won the war after trillions had been killed, returned to the fold, and greeted the Imperium with heavy hearts." My heart was caught in my words, it was agonizing to relay it, to say the truth. "They believe that they are the arch traitors, the betrayers, the worst of heretics, that theirs is a lineage of the unfaithful, their blood is the blood of heathens. The people of Krieg believe it is their duty to atone, for eternity, for their crimes. They produce nothing, they build nothing, but they have their sons. The sons they throw away, because traitors deserve to die. Ever since they returned to the Imperium they have given everything away freely. To them every Krieger, every child soldier they send into the boiling heat of battle, deserves only death. When they die, they only see a number lost, equipment to scavenge, a heretic dead. They will continue to atone for crimes that weren't even their own, and they will do it without question, forever. They can never be forgiven, they *know* this is as a fact. Yet I have heard them in their dying breaths, all of them, begging for the Emperor's forgiveness." I felt the tears roll down my cheeks, the faith of the lowliest Kriegsman could test that of even the hardest Astartes, their souls beget only agony. "That's not true." My Primarch spoke, overcome with grief I had somehow forgotten his presence, turning to him in his pause I could see the only tear to ever be produced by Roboute Guilliman fall from his glistening eyes. "I know my Father's heart well, they were forgiven long ago. They achieved atonement, five hundred years worth."
i would like to request for the commisar to report to his superiors for immediate retraining as he clearly failed to spot the psyker at 0:29 who is holding his gun with his mind and not his hands
The Commissar is just like: Just another day in the Korp! Every now and then even Krieg produces a Psyker and they too seek glorious redemption though service.
@@Geshiko-GuP nah, the scout detachment is 15 miles further in, this is the quartermaster and sustainment company, the commisar just finished inspecting the 25 mile walk that was the HQ battalion
@@facundomontivero2299 Kriegers look down on anyone who they deem to be too soft for their standards, and those standards usually mean being able to face death and continue charging. Unfortunately not every commissar is able to live up to their standards, hell there even cases where the kriegers execute their own commissar for suggesting a retreat when a breakthrough is possible at the cost of more bodies.
Even worse that the Kriegsmen have the lowest desertion rate and one of the highest casualty rates. Along with the fact that they all hope to die for the Emperor for repentance despite being the descendants of the Krieg loyalists who fought the successionists for 500 years. Commissars assigned to Krieg regiments say most of their job is preventing them from suicidal charges.
The commissar walks past a file of guardsmen about once per second. A single file looks to be 7 guardsmen. An hour has 3600 seconds. 3600 x 7 Thus the commissar inspected / was inspected by 25 200 guardsmen of Krieg.
I like that as well. It feels like even though the Krieg are clones, they have different templates of clones to draw from, giving some genetic variety, and height differences might also hint that some are younger or older.
I watched the whole thing and all I could think was that 40k is a dark and grim universe. It’s war torn, full of hatred, sacrifice, brutality, heroism, atrocities on a galactic scale, and more. Emperor help me, I love everything about it.
They are not immortal like the Astartes. They are not armored like the Astartes They are not Astartes. But... They will fight as hard as the Astartes, they will die gloriously just like the Astartes, and they'll do it all with nothing more than a empty lasgun, a rusty bayonet, and a damn fine shovel. They are not Astartes. They are Guardsmen. And that is more than enough.
Rusty bayonet? Bro that bayonet can cut through body armor, maybe not the armor of astartes but it will cut through any foot soldier body armor. The Kriegs guardsmen are arguably more dangerous then Astartes due to their suicidal tendencies and unbreakable moral. Yes a Astartes can rip apart a krieg guardsmen but have fun dealing with a wave of krieg guardsmen.
When you are aware of the share devastation that they bring the songs tone becomes perfect. The bleak reality of 40K is not lost on anyone who listens to it. Good choice.

Found this while looking up the song... Enough of obedience from those who are bound! I’m sick of seeing false cohesion all around. I’m tired of the heartless stare of those Who are far too stupid to look ahead. Their shirts turning brown, their scarves once were red. We’re shackled together by one chain And forced to pursue the same aim. Shackled together by one chain, We’re forced to pursue the same… We've got plenty of land that we can't civilize, While the greatness of the State is built on duress and lies. You dare not say in public what’s been said in private. Mediocrity rules, personality’s devalued. And whatever I do, I always keep in mind that We are shackled together by one chain And forced to pursue the same aim. Shackled together by one chain, We’re forced to pursue the same… Some will always find a god and pray. Some will work hard on idling away. Beggars keep singing the praises of those, Who are to be blamed for social woes. Here you can play any instrument, But an outro is all you will get. When the doorbell rings you have no clue If they are just coming by or coming for you. Here with wasted years all our hopes are nourished. Here the one who is tired is the one who’s accomplished. You have seen glitterati, you have been to the slum, But you still can’t tell the cream from the scum. What you can tell, however, is that they are all numb And shackled together by one chain And forced to pursue the same aim. We are shackled together by one chain, Forced to pursue the same…
@@советскийкиви Is it? The song predates the fall of the USSR and seems to be a critique of systems like collective responsibility and the fear that came with the Soviet system - e.g. "I look for a [welcoming/compassionate] hand but only get an elbow [strike/hard nudge, as though pushing someone away]". The line "Где выше голов находится зад" seems to refer to people grovelling/cowering, while "Одни слова для кухонь, другие - для улиц" seems to refer to the difference between public truth versus private truth - a phenomenon that was true throughout the USSR, possibly before, but remains true today. I am not a Russian speaker, but I *do* know this song. Am I mistaken in parsing these lines, and the overall piece? Edit: The tragedy of this song seems *particularly* appropriate in the way Krieg continues in the Imperium. A masterful choice by Gurke.
@@kadepearson2181 This I know! Which is one of the reasons they are my favorite Imperial Regiments, they put the fear of the Emporer into the commissars!
Plot Twist: The one actually being inspected is the Commissar. "Suffer not the soldier who flees before war. Worse yet, suffer not he who fails to lead them to it."
God. This is just good. All the little details, like the soldiers being different heights, how the commissar looks like he is moving naturally, and the music fits super well too. One of the best things you've done yet.

@@KingBawzthe1st that’s a Lucius pattern No.98 lasgun which was the Kriegmens standard lasgun, not sure on the actual deep lore behind it but it’s a single shot lasgun that has a light trigger (from what I’ve heard and read) and it’s mainly just used as a spear with a shooting capability.
@@gunterweismann9799 I believe it's used that way less because of its capabilities and more because of the Krieg's... affinity with getting in the enemy's face. Other than that, from the lore I know off my head, it sacrifices the rate of fire of other lasgun patterns for a harder punch, with it's main issue being overheating problems. As you can imagine, give a Krieger an overheated lasgun with a bayonet and a foe within charging distance and... well, the bayonet becomes a lot more useful.
@@randombrit4504 the heavier beam does help when dealing with things like Sandbags though so it makes sense. Krieg also uses volley fire instead of independent fire when they can manage it, so having semiauto lasguns that hit harder and have a very light trigger pull is good

His eyes tracked mine and maybe he saw my internal agony, I had weathered a thousand battles, but I had never relayed the history of Krieg, the history of their heresy.

The line "Где выше голов находится зад" seems to refer to people grovelling/cowering, while "Одни слова для кухонь, другие - для улиц" seems to refer to the difference between public truth versus private truth - a phenomenon that was true throughout the USSR, possibly before, but remains true today.

This attack is not intended to succeed and instead tells the command staff which sections of the enemy line should be allocated more bombardment. This is in an effort to preserve more valuable troops, such as grenadiers and engineers.
@@ImperialCommissarRikart Yup, that sounds about right for Kriegers.
@@ImperialCommissarRikart1) thats not what a probing assault is, a probing assault is one where they probe KNOWN enemy positions for specific weak spots, by attacking them. not unknown enemy positions. and it isn't specifically used for finding positions to get more bombardment. its purely for identifiying specific weak points quickly in a section of the line reconnaissance indicated was weaker as a whole. such an assault is infact useually almost immediately followed up elite troops like grenadiers to assault the enemy weakspots (before the enemy can fix the flaw), useually on the same day. the example given in the siege of vraks has the plan call for grenadiers to come in on the 2nd wave on the first day.
2) krieg doesn't use conscripts in the lore, at all. all their troops see years of brutal training and then combat (against specifically trained 'genelost') before they are shipped off world. and their officers lead from the front, they never send troops into battle purely over vox communications. the example given in vraks has the lower officers dieing with their men, and the higher officers directly watching over the assaults and identifying the weakspots their own eyes...
3) nowhere does it say krieg uses this tactic often, infact it specifically says they prefure to use small scale probing raids over an extended period of time. and only use probing assaults when time is short, most often as a result of non-krieg superiors trying to rush them (infact that is the only time we see ever see krieger's use a probing assault)

there are 19 572 soldiers ready to die for the emperor
That seems about right. As IG regiments typically number in the tens of thousands.
bearly a scouting force
Damn right we are about to die for the emperor

I love how each Kriegsman has a slight variation in height or their positioning is slightly off to give it a more authentic feeling
This just fills me with dread for some reason, especially when the commissar turns his head.
After walking for an hour he realizes he only inspected 3% of the troops that have lined up
Some of the krieg soldiers watch the Commisar as he walks past, like they turn their head. Very nice
love how this version has it synced to the footsteps unlike the other one i saw yesterday
Lyrics/текст песни:
Russian langauage/
English langauge/английский язык:
Chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one aim.
Chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one…
Here collective guilt smears like a petrol
I am taking someone’s hand, but I'm sensing an elbow
I am looking for an eye, but I'm feeling a gaze
In the place where the ass is on top of the heads
A red sunrise precedes a pink sunset.
Chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one aim.
Chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one…
Here joints are sapless and the space is enormous
Here groups crumpled together to build columns(of soldiers)
There are some words for kitchens and another for streets
Here the eagles were dumped to make room for the chickens
And I keep in line, even kissing.
Chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one aim.
Chained up...
You can believe in the absence of faith
You can do the absence of deed
The poor are praying, praying to
The fact that their poverty is guaranteed
You can play a trombone, but just in your head
Yet whatever you do you will play a retreat
And if there are those who will come to you
There will be those who will come after you
Here women are searching, but find only senility
Here fatigue is considered as the measure of work
Here are no villains in parlors of leather
Here the first looks similar to the last
And maybe they are not less exhausted than the last
Being chained up by one chain.
Bound together by one aim.
Chained up...
(I had to correct the translation into English a lot, because I found nothing that was 100% correct.I can´t guarantee you will understand everything, because the way of expressing ourselves differs in the Russian and English language.Enjoy.Hope my work paid off.)
Thats...sad and powerful
The Commissar delivers once more! Forward, men! Fix your bayonets and sharpen your shovels, for we shall march in static formation towards the enemy pillboxes to this music!
Mate... the Krieg gonna bonk you for that, they want to charge at the enemies
@@henrycooper3431 Whatever needs to be done, they will do
@@brotherhoodofsteelsoldier1356 they want to charge gloriously out tho, not standing and moving slowly toward

7 guardsmen in each row, for every 5 rows of guardsmen, there are 2 Chimera APCs(?), so every 35 guardsmen merits 2 Chimera APCs. Every 13 rows of Chimera APCs merit a tower, which is 91 rows of guardsmen. In between every tower is 26(28 maybe) Chimera APs, and 637 guardsmen(644 maybe).
I thought those were Chimera APCs, not Leman Russ armour? Low turret, slightly offcenter, no sponsons, light armour over the tracks. I think this is a mechanized regiment, not a combined-arms unit.
@@Shadesight i would like to add that the turret main gun dont look like that of the Leman Russ

Came back to this after 7-8 months ago, and this is all that's going through my head: "Your as beautiful as the day I lost you"
Unironically great to listen to for both exercising and sleep
Beautiful song, the video is really calming too

The Emperor is in the details. I like how every Kriegsman's size is different. Good job, I love it!
Great work. I especially love the details, how it's not like the exactly same row of soldiers and background over and over again, but rather you can see the difference in the height of the soldiers and the plumes of smoke!
Holy shot he did it
Emperor approved
This is so fucking badass. I love the eery music, gives it a way more dramatic and real vibe than Death Korps of Krieg.
My favorite part of the song is here; 2:53 and is the best part of the song!
"May in death I earn repentance for the sin of my birth."
This is one of the ways to put me in a trance

Man, I just heard the news. I always liked your work mate, I hope GW changes their mind.
Commissar : We lost over 300,000,00 men in the first wave!
Krieg officer : *Acceptable losses*
I just love that one Kreigsman that turns his head to look at the commisar.
Wait a minute... lack of discipline... MUST BE A HERETIC SPY!
I like to think that every guardsman he nods to was an old friend. One he'll never see again
@@themaidenlesswretch7819 That's some sad stuff. Knowing that they probably served in numerous battles and surviving the horrors of war.
That's actually really nice for Kriegsmen.
The one that watched the Commissar was looking for heresy
@@C0ldD1rective That was you, wasn't it Hans?

this is a comfort video now. I honestly can't begin to say how relaxing this is
This was waaay more detailed than it needed to be. Love it
Это просто идеально , это шедевр. Спасибо вам большое за ваш труд !
Now time for a 10 hour version
There's something both beautiful and tragic about the Death Korps.
8:21 Some Krieg move their heads to look at the commissar, and the commissar looks back at them.
Nice touch withe the guardsman not standing in the same line straight line 😉👌 very nice
Finally we get a better representation of numbers. But this is still only scouting force
I love how you varied the height of the troopers, now everyone would be the same height.
Wounder, why the occasional guardsmen would dare, lock eyes with the commissar... reminding him he's on their territory? Company commander for that section?
Brilliantly done, would love to have seen an odd formation of Grenadiers thrown in that all looked him in the eye as he went past, 'Veterans privilege' as it where XD
"why the guardsmen would "dare lock eyes with the commissar""? because the commissariat coward is being inspected.
The one soldier that makes and maintains eye contact with the Commissar to show he too is being inspected.
Okay I have to say this, I absolutely love the detail that there are soldiers of different heights in the formation.
The 115th commissar welcomes all for the suicide charges
“X01, High commissar, the 88th siege army is ready for inspection, they’ll be heading to Vrax, should only loose about a 16th of them, at most.
“Ah, wonderful, I’ll give them a look over.”
Welcome back, Kriegsmen! Glad to see you after the reveal show
Thanks for doing this man! I've been waiting for a good long while!
I hope this won't get taken down....it's rather stimulating to sleep to.
Comissar: By the Emperor, my feet is killing me. And I'm not even at the damn Battlefield yet!
deserving a medal.
Kommissar: **Orders a retreat**
Krieg guardsmen: You know the rules and so do I NOW SAY GOODBYE
Kommissar: what guardsmen
The Krieg Regiment: **eyes glowing red**
Commisar! what does retreat mean?
A strategical positioning of troops
That commissar looks like he’s having the time of his life with the subtle movements he’s making.
Being a Commissar for Krieg would truly be something else.
I love the random size variations, a simple yet glamarous touch.
