    WOW, makes fishing in England look a bit tame! Having the shark take the tuna reminds me of Hemmingway's " The Old Man And The Sea"!

    Nice work do you anchor up when you find them or just drift?

      @@YAWK_YAWK do you see your target fish on the sounder when you find the bait or do you just assume they are there somewhere?
      I recently fished the port for the first time, saw heaps of bait but no fish.

      @@markwhiting8259 Yeah you will normally see the Mackerel at the back of the bait. If the bait is tight it means its being harassed. If its fluffy, the big fish are not feeding. What sounder do you have?

    @YAWK_YAWK Great Video. Loved seeing you hook up on those tuna and Mackerel. it looked like the rod was reasonable light as well?

      yea the light one was 5-8kg, 7 foot 3. Same rod that i use in the passage for jew, snapper, and tailor.

      @@jamielamont2026 you can definitely land them on 15lb braid as long as you have at least 40lb leader for mackerel. Only need about 20lb for the tuna. My lightest setup, outside of the passage has a light rod although its coupled with a 5000 size reel with 24lb braid.

    I can never find mackerel in the bay, any tips? I launch from south side though.

      Thanks for watching! You need to find the bait on the sounder. Dont follow the crowd, and find your own ground. Heaps of good ground down there.

    is this near the shipping channel?

    • @YAWK_YAWK
      @YAWK_YAWK  5 месяцев назад +1

      Close to. Although, as you know shipping channels run all throughout the bay, so a ship's always gonna be in the shot even if I'm far away.

      Just had a look at your Vids, they are great! My first boat was a tuff tender when I was 9 or 10 years old, had a 6hp, used to get soaking wet. Looks like those spray chines make a massive difference.
