Hard knuckle biker gloves are equally efficient and universally legal. And they free your hands to draw a blade or firearm if necessary.
But ya have to put them on before a fight or wear them all the time. Grabbing this out of a pocket is much quicker.
@@Santaheckler 100% agree. It's just another convenient legal option. Especially in the situation described. It's often cold when pumping gas.
True dat
Think I would disagree the palm support in most brass/plastic knuckles is meant to redistribute force and help support bones in the hands. That said my state of Michigan needs to revise the laws, even plastic knuckles are illegal.
Yes, they're illegal because the idiot police think they're the Only ones who're allowed to be Violent.
And this gets innocent people Killed!
But they don't care.
They're worse than the "criminals" because they ARE Criminals!
😊😊
Well handled. I had a similar situation two days ago. The idiot that walked up on me was acting the same way. I told you once before that I carry a combat cane in my vehicle made of hickory from Canemaster. He backed down and walked away. I highly recommend carrying a tactical cane in your car. It is completely legal anywhere because it is considered a medical device. Your friends are lucky to have you as the sheepdog.
Thanks bro👊
Yep. Same. Gotten in habit to take everywhere. "Cold Steel City Stick" Indestructible. Vids on RUclips of it. Im gettin a Canemaster soon too, tho.
Also consider a tactical umbrella, a brilliantly covert piece of kit but not cheap
I love my cane from Canemasters.
Have you guys ever heard of pepper spray?
The hardest part about a situation like this is not getting the chance to get even. He had all the fun in the world, calling you names and trying to intimidate you, but you stood your ground. Anyone with half a brain knows you would have handled him with not much effort at all. You're an avid trainer and he was two burritos away from busting his belt buckle. Sometimes the most difficult thing in the world is not getting to swing at someone who really deserves it. Especially when you know you can win. Taking the high road is frustrating, but i applaud your actions. ✊ Stay lethal brother.
Thanks brother! And well said 💯💯Sometimes knowing that you train and knowing that you’re lethal helps to keep you calm. The loudest man in the room is not the most dangerous man. I could’ve merked him fast. His balance and equilibrium was ranked. He was just loud and hold. When I stared into his eyes he looked scattered.
@@411Outdoors I am sorry you had to go through this, but I am happy that you shared the footage. A lot of RUclipsrs talk about what to do in these situations, but few have proof to back what they say. It's always good to see someone who practices what they preach
@@viewtifuljay2531 thanks my bro
Yummy burritos
The problem with conservatives "taking the high road" is that it encourages these scumbags, who will believe they "got away with" their bad behavior and go on to take their frustrations out on weaker, less able victims. "Taking the high road" is sometimes wise, but often stupid and irresponsible.
THANK YOU my brother for doing this video! It will make me think more about my situational awareness in everyday tasks!
Glad it was helpful!
Wise words. Worth reading Tim Larkin’s “When Violence is the Answer” as this deals with de escalation in detail. That book saved me getting into trouble. There’s nothing like the possible scarcity of fuel to get folk acting up at the filling station, even here in the UK
Great suggestion! Thank you
That's a great book and I highly recommend it.
@@klawockkidd3426 yeah there’s some wisdom in there for sure, I often thought “what would Tim Larkin do?” 😀
Yeah considering the UK is falling day after day….
So sad to see a culture and a people replaced so quickly….
So so scary
London isn’t even London anymore
Who’s protecting the kids?
The women 👩??
Great video, some real life situational facts. Thank you
First time viewing of your channel, great information, useful and most of all could be lifesaving
Thank you 🙂
New to your channel, your video came up on my feed. I’m grateful. All these tips are great to remember. I was in healthcare 15 years night shift worked emergency room, ICU, CCU,Telemetry and in trauma centers... and one thing people need to learn the most is situational awareness. What I saw coming into my units...my goodness. 😢 Sad what humans do to each other. I had to get out, couldn’t do it anymore. It caused me harm working it and seeing it every day...body parts, blood, bowels, and brain tissue...gave me PTSD. Knowing your surroundings being actively aware what’s going on around you is the most important thing when you go out in public, especially with the lunatics out in the world today.
Welcome to the channel and thanks for sharing!
Amen brother right on the money. It's not always about what you carry but how you carry your self.
I really enjoy and admire the mindset and non-confrontation and non-lethal techniques you demonstrate as well as the best advice of avoidance. However, when the heat is called for, be prepared and as you say committed to do what you have to do!
You absolutely have to be prepared to respond👍
Thanks for sharing ---simple enough but required when a threat surfaces--- interesting review of plastic Knuckles. There is a method of folding a Newspaper to make a Knuck which is very strong too.
Honestly I'm just glad you made it safe back to your family & friends really enjoy your vids too very informative Stay Safe my man!!!!
Thanks, you too!🙂
Some people aren't here to evolve. They are here to show you what it looks like if you don't.
All one has to is call their bluff with words first.
I am in Canada, and I legally purchased a knuckle duster made entirely from G10, and in my options that material is amazing for this type of device.
Move out of Canada. Become a us citizen.
I first saw a martial artist/self defense trainer talk about them. He did like a 2 second clip showing him demolishing a watermelon with a hook using this product. Man, what an equalizer for smaller people against bigger bad guys.
😂💯
You're dead on with your recommendation for sizing. I've got two sets from NMK. I wear a size 18 ring and an XL glove, but a large set of those knucks are perfect for my hands. I LIKE 'UM!
@@101st_AB awesome!
😮 just half the power behind it is devastating. A good tool to have to make the person rethink.
💯💯
Vehicles never know if or when will have some goof pop up. EDC is a first step in keeping aware the idea today might be that day. In my car have a 2.0 oz pepper spray gas station sold ones are 0.75oz so huge difference in size.-.can reach much farther and for other person not gonna be happy. Additionally have a kubaton along as has look of non weapon,,but will hurt. Nice video to remind us keep alert and have as many options as you can availble.
Great advice that I will take. Thank you. Very nice handling that situation.
Excellent commentary, you explained some of the details of the knuckles in a way that totally makes sense and educated me so thank you.
Very welcome! Thanks for watching
As for myself , I am disabled with a rare medical disorder , therefor I can not run, nor can I fight , being 5/9 150 I would not stand a chance in hell going hand to hand , sometimes I walk with a cane , so there for I carry a gun for self protection . Im not going to live in fear and become hermit , because of these savage 2 legged beasts that infect society. I carry a SS P-250 17 rd with 1 hot in the chamber and 2 spare 21 rd mags of 124 gr JHP , as you know 2 legged savage animals attack not only one tp one , but in packs , just like rabid animals, I have right to self protection , its just a simple fact .
my martial arts teacher encountered a man smoking @ the gas pump. My teacher was pumping gas and had his kids in the car. He determined the cigarette was a danger during pumping gas. He asked the fool to put the cigarette out. The smoker refused and approached Cory. When he got within striking distance, Cory smacked his ear with a cupped hand. The pressure wave into the man's ear dropped him. It was quick and effective.
NICE!
I watched ur vid. And bought a set directly after. Thanks for the link. 🤟
Glad I could help!
I think you handled it well. You did not get hurt and you were not forced to hurt anyone else. I also like your after action/ incident review where you thought about what you did right and what you might have changed.
That’s important in terms of avoiding the situation altogether or possibly improving the outcome of a situation in the future a lot of younger people don’t seem to do that.
Excellent advice all around .
I have really bumped up my situation awareness
Everywhere I go.
And have been teaching some of my younger friends as well
Great review of your experience and your philosophy of own behavior if encounter such is VERY accurately constructive! All the best from Europe!
Thank you!
Thank you very much for the lessons it's well worth having the knowledge.
Great breakdown. Especially good summary notes at the end.
I am a new subscriber. LONG TIME carrier of plastic knuckles. You don't wanna get hit with it. Good jab technique, BTW. Practice with the left.
Nice job, Daniel. Thank you. This one is a "keeper!" (shared it with my teenage son)
Awesome! Thank you!
Excellent......Best channel on youtube for rational self defense and gear. Thank you. Your saving lives! I'm wondering if I should wear these over gloves.
Thank you, my friend! You could experiment and see what’s most practical for you
Great video, appreciate it
Good job my friend you did exactly what you should have done, you handled it calmly and perfectly. And when you said it took the cops 10 minutes to get there it goes to show you, you can never rely on the cops to save your life, you can only rely on yourself and your own instincts. Great video my brother and again thanks for being one of the few who make videos with alternative weapons. God bless and stay safe.
Thank you!🫡
Love you sales pitch for the knuckles using the big drunk guy
Hahaha I don’t care if anybody buys these dang things. I bought these myself, and “no metal knucks” don’t pay me a penny. Just for future reference the way to know somebody is selling something is if they give you a discount code and a special link.
Very good example of the Three tools we have.. Brains, Hands and then Self Defense Tools.... Always keep a cool tool but stern. Im a slender build man and these things are very important.
I have found that the restrooms at truck stops are the most dangerous. Be aware!
Daniel, your composure in that situation was stellar! And the advise given in this video, "priceless'", dead on the money!!! Definitely, need to order a pair of plastic knucks!!! GOT IT!!! They're a "really good" deal..
You’ll love them!
Great video many thanks .
Thank you!
God bless you and yours
You as well!
Great video. A lot of sound advice. 👍🇺🇸
You’re doing a great job, thanks for the advice.
Stuff like that will happen more and more when the economy tanks.
Truth!
Months away
Thanks for the video.
I'm a little paranoid about putting my fingers into any kind of ring or hole. Besides not being trained on karambit, they make me nervous because most are made to be used with a finger in a hole. I'm guessing that I will never consider knuckles for anything other than a fidget gadget to be kept at home.
Assuming I wanted to get these, the sizing issue would worry me. I took a year or so of Krav Maga. For that, I had to get MMA gloves, and the instructor found that XXL was the best size for me. I have a pair of winter gloves in XL. Generally, I get work gloves in L, but the fingers are too big for me. If I wanted the fingers to fit, I'd get work gloves in a M, but sometimes I can't get my hand in a M glove. I bought glove liners last year. I forget whether I got M or S, but that size worked well because they stretch around my hands. I have no idea what that would mean in this model of plastic knuckles.
Interesting story and I’m glad you were able to deal with it effectively, well done. The question that comes to mind for me is that when you are armed with a firearm, doesn’t that make you extremely hesitant to deal with a threat like that with any kind of hand to hand combat? After all, that would open you up to possibly having your gun taken away from you.
One of my favorite channels
Thanks for watching!
Your confederate flag is gross
Your Situational awareness was on point
Thank you!
Good advice. I've survived a few where i've actually been cut etc & in many places you almost have to wait till they attempt to attack you 1st & yiu can only get em 1 time. If you poke em, pew pew em etc more than once or chase them down once they disengage then its not self defense in the eyes of the law.
Very true
sadly nowa days you do have to let them make the 1st move before you can physically defend yourself which can give them the edge if you can't react fast enough
Like the history of these defensive alternatives so subscribed. Enjoy your channel and commentary.
Thanks so much!
I wish I could show a picture , the knoucks I have are for left and right hand, and they are actually made to be warn with a square "boxer" fist, they ard shaped very unique and the finger holes large for pointer finger, to smallest for little finger
Where did you get them from?
Brass knuckles are illegal in my state. PA. But I found a slingshot on Amazon years ago with the fork screwing onto the Brass knuckles. I had to purchase it. It's set up as a slingshot but I don't play with it much anymore.
Good video, I hit the gym very hard, I'm not an imposing figure but you can tell that I'm not unfit, a tad on the thin side. In the streets, you have to be prepared to kill, it's just reality. In Ohio, we can carry pretty much anything, the combat mindset must be rediscovered after our culture tries to subdue it in our earlier years, our bodies have gotten soft due to the industrial revolution and the rise of white collar careers. Luckily I avoid trouble despite living in Ohio, a crappy flyover state that's cheap, one of its few good points. Remain vigilant.
Good video and thanks for the takeaway comments at the end.
Part of metal knuckles is the added weight to the punch
I had a homeless guy try to sneak up behind me at a gas station asking me if I could fill his truck. I caught him and faced him before he got too close and he stopped in his tracks before he asked me. I told him, "sorry bro, I can't." Then I was about to get in my truck when I noticed he kept standing there in a stance like he was going to bum rush me when I turned around. I faced him again and gave him that "don't mess with me" look. Then he said something to me like, "watch your back" or something before he walked away.
Just subscribed after seeing this video. Watched a few others.
I am a big fan of knives. I think they are great tools for many situations. Amazon boxes and packages might be the most frequent use but camping is better.
I'm a passifist by choice and was bullied as a kid so i had many fights as a kid. Only lost a few of them and I stopped fist fights when i was 14. I still believe in fighting back but believe in the mental before physical. I have friends that CC and believe in 2A but choose not to carry. I've asked them what do you do if you run out of ammo or get jammed up. One of them has been taking MMA and martial arts classes for a few years. Very happy for him.
Situational awareness, staying calm and being able to think your way through tough situations is best and doesn't always require a physical response.
I live in a nice but diverse area in VA and know not everyone is well intentioned but i never assume the best about strangers or situations.
Thanks for the story and the perspectives.
Great video and sage advice
Thanks for your time, and opinios. Stay safe.
Some excellent info my man...I usually carry a force multiplier, blade, spray and marker. Different situations call for different solutions 🫡
This is a great video. I have liked some of your video's including this one. I have also subscribed to your channel.
Interesting legal note: In Alaska, plastic knuckles fit the legal definition for "metal knuckles," which are prohibited. It's not logical, and Alaska is generally quite permissive. But it illustrates just how confusing these laws can be.
My friend Best thing about as you explained no shirt guy you Got Video Prove Your Encounter! A Plus
Thanks my friend 🙂👍
I have a pare of brass nuckles that that I pulled off the hand of a guy who tried to punch me at a party a year after I graduated highschool CO 2000. I got my first job bouncing in bars my 11 grade year in high school. I was recruited by a cook who watched me brake up a fight in another bar that I dishwashed at in 98. I always gravitated to violence. I never hurt anyone more than I needed to be safe from an attack. When I see a person with brass nuckles. I don’t discount their ability to get violent but I do see them as someone with minimal experience engaging in violence. As I do with a person who carries a butterfly knife. Good review though.
Self-defense is never fun. Idk, they won't let me post my story. Service to say I empathize and sympathize.
With any type of knuckles you don't need to be throwing with full force.. light quick punches will work very effectively.. if thrown with full force will definitely land you in prison for murder or maiming for sure...
That’s a very excellent point. Thank you.👍
Well handled situation my friend. There's always some dickhead who has to harsh your mellow by getting all up in your grill. Even in the middle of nowhere. I'm always looking for escape routes, wherever I am . The younger me, would have had some. So many idiots on drugs with blades in the UK, its not worth the risk. Another great video. 👍🏼
Thanks so much! 🙂
Great advice at the end of video 👍
Well done!!
I think also slapjacks and batons are legal in Canada. Believe it or not short barelled shotguns are legal in Canada.
Love your videos bro
Thanks for watching!🙂
Great advice. In Britain any kind of knuckles are illegal to OWN let alone carry. We are a castrated society here. Only the bad guys carry anything. We are not allowed by LAW to carry anything at all for the purpose of self defence. Even pepper spray is considered a firearm! It’s just crazy. If a woman fought off an attacker at night with pepper spray in Britain SHE would be charged with carrying an offensive weapon. This is why I love America. Never give up your rights.
What about walking canes? They can be effective in self defense if used properly. Many people due to injury or age need to use them for mobility. AFAIK legal to carry across the USA
Nice skills with them there knucks. Dope channel my brother.
Thanks my friend! Cheers
I'm sure they're good, but I just can't justify spending $30 on plastic knuckles...
I understand 👍
Enjoy the videos. Problem is, most attackers are going to bushwhack you from behind. You will never see them and certainly not have time to draw any sort of weapon. Buddy system and a dog help with that immensely.
EXCELLENT VIDEO!! Great choice. I was a General Instructor in the Police Academy and I specialized in Use of Force...You did well!!!
Thank you brother 🙂there was a lot on the line for sure. He obviously wasn’t willing to cross the line to come to where i was. I definitely wasn’t going to let him draw me into his game.

You did precisely what a man is supposed to. Ignorant people would have engaged with him over words even though he was drunk and they do it because it makes them feel tough. Also when using dusters, you aim for the nose, ears, and collar bones. Never put your hand near anyone’s mouth or eyes. They could have a disease, you get cut and get some of their infected blood 🩸 in that wound and you have their disease.
Thank you!
The way I use them is to hold them in my hand the way you do, but I never jab or throw straight punches with them. I use them at close range striking in shorter, tighter swings using more of a hook to the temple or jaw. Or a diagonal uppercut to the chin and right below the nose. I turn my fist into a hammer by knocking the brass knuckles into my target sideways and putting my hip and upper body behind it.
My main concern would be the difficulty of transitioning from the knucks to a handgun.
I’d use the knuckles on my non dominate hand, and have my dominate one free to reach for the firearm.
Good job, good advice
Thanks bro!
Excellent advice.
Felony felony felony , concealed deadly weapon = potential / probably prison time if used with bodily injury. Facial impact with brass knuckles, likely to result in disfiguring injury . Which piles on a giant civil suit for damages potentially in the millions . A jury of “ normal “ citizens, will be abhorred by an individual using brass knuckles. And award injured party justice and in civil suit - millions . Having said the above . I must say your channel is very spot on . Very very detailed info on what you cover 👍🏼. Also you’re so knowledgeable, that you often mention facts and nuances , that not many people would know about . 😊. Ps some states stack on charges , when you’re involved in a crime ….and you have a weapon on you . Weather you use it or not , take it out or not . Many States are very ontop of stuff . 😮
I appreciate you sharing my friend! Self-defense and the weapons game is very dangerous world for sure. I wished it was as simple as defending ourselves.
I will state again , you’re very very knowledgeable in aspects NOBODY knows / would mention 👍🏼. I know lol. Here’s couple of tidbits of interesting nature . Maybe do a segment on the co2 bean bag Billy clubs - shoots bean bag ( like I’m explaining to u what they are ! Lmfao ) . I have a few co Billie’s , they way back and oddly enough they are more legal in most states . The other is how bout a segment on “ come alongs” .. only cause the various designs and mechanisms are so cool over lots of historical years . Twisty wrists grabbers used a lot in 1800s early 1900s by law folks . You know all about them I’m sure . Not a weapon , but close . Maybe Sap gloves , don’t know if you did that , cause I’m new . I’ve had sap gloves beautiful black supple deerskin , for most of my life .teens to 60 ! I’ve never ever ever had anyone notice them. Now that a self defense weapon personified 👍🏼. The black sap baseball hat 🧢 Shomer T. Omg so cool .same never ever ever had someone notice my baseball hat was a very dangerous weapon . The stealth 🥷 hat and such just amped up the overall effectiveness 500 % lol thanks I will check out your other videos and bust your chops if I see something …ha
Here in Commiefornia, even those are illegal. Guess I gotta keep my roll of quarters still
Adults going out door to door looking for treats and snooping around the same time, you wonder if they will hit on houses that has something they want. Anyone including children should not cover their face with a mask or a diaper. A knuckle sandwich might cure the sick for a little while.❤ it’s only the healthy that can hold back darkness.
Excellent advise
The knucks hurt from just punching into the palm of the other hand or to the thigh on the same side, the pain experienced by a knuck-punched offender..... Oh my!
A plastic knuckle duster is ok. But I've switched to a tactical whip. Those things hurt like crazy, strike at a distance, and leave your hands free to grasp and palm strike. Tactical whips are good for a knife encounter, you hit at a distance where they can't effectively use a knife or fists when you are farther away. and a whip is fast. You get in multiple hits in seconds.
Got mine from a flea market glad to learn subscription incoming 🙌.
I am looking into this product because I'm taking my son to a concert in the summer and I know security will be heavy with metal detectors etc. I normally ccw a Pew Pew and knife every day so going to an event like this where I have zero additional tools makes me a little nervous. Thinking I could squirrel this away on me somewhere and sneak it in so I at least have a little advantage in a self defense situation.
I have knives made of carbon fiber and plastics that are extremely strong for this reason. The rare cases where i absolutely cant be armed like normally i find it absolutely necessary.
In Germany the term is not linked to the material and they are illegal anyhow from which material they are made of. Saps/Blackjacks are also illegal.
If you couldn't afford or get one of these you could make a piece of homemade Micarta using layers of an old pair of Levi's and wood glue. Let it dry for two days then clamp it down and drill the holes with a spade bit. Then cut it to shape with a jig saw with a metal cutting blade, and sand. Could be cut out with points on it.
I have EDC'ed a set of delrin knuckledusters for nearly a decade. If I must throw a punch, I am not breaking my hand again for anyone. It takes a long time to heal hand injuries. Ask yourself, can I go without my hands(s) for 4 to 6 weeks?
Delrin is easy to shape yourself, and it doesn't trigger metal detectors. Also, if you are concerned about the "legality" of delrin knuckledusters, just ditch 'em and make another set later.
Disposable knuckledusters.
I've learned you can't reason with unreasonable people.
One of the first things I 3D printed was knucks...
