Vocal Coach Reacts! Gary Valenciano (Gary V)! Spain (Chick Corea)! Live on the Wish Bus!
Gary's like fine wine. He gets better with age... If only we could all age so gracefully like him.
You will be amazed by his ballad songs i will be here/ the warrior is a child on the wish bus also, check it out! He is Mr. Pure Energy of the Philippines because he is also a very good dancer
Gary V. , no more double shot of espresso for you! 🤣 The multi-talented singer-songwriter, dancer, musician, actor, music producer and TV host....one of the legends and a vocal athlete in the Philippines. Watching and enjoying your reactions from Dubai.
I can't imagine him on a double espresso! You'd have to pin him down until it passed through his system!
Yeah he's a total perfirmer and everything😍😍😍
Yeah he's a total perfirmer and everything😍😍😍
He is an actor, singer, plays percussion and a very good dancer. And owns a talent management. He has a Puerto Rican blood.
Owen Reyes and a composer, don’t ever forget that 😂
That's why he is MR. PURE ENERGY ... He is our Michael Jackson, so you must see how he dances... Thanks thanks :)
He's moving too much while singing, because he usually singing while dancing. A Mr. Pure energy from Phil.
that's NOT scat singing - it's a LEGIT JAZZ piece - entitled SPAIN.
that's NOT an Adlib part - it's a regular chorus part of the song....
Spain was popularized by Al Jareau
Because he usuaLLy DANCE when he performs his own songs. He is known in our country as "Mr. Energy" a totaL performer
Yeah
have a research
he's a dancer! he's an actor! he's a musician who knows a lot like a lot of instruments!! he is the one and only mister pure energy of the Philippines!! truly making Filipinos proud over the years....
Thanks for reacting to Gary V. One of the best male singers in the Philippines.
He is the Michael Jackson of the Phil. Way back mid 80's , this man is a good dancer, singer, host and actor . He's now more or less 60yrs old during that performance in wish bus. Gary V. arrange his own songs and do the work of a sound engineer. This man is full of talent and energy and we are proud of him as Filipino. 🇵🇭👌👍
56 now
Wow the wife of mr Gary v. Is waching ur reaction sir yup he’s 56 bcoz I’m older 2 yrs kay Gary v
Thank you for reacting to Gary V's rendition of Spain. I love both Gary V and Chick Corea so this is such a treat for me.
He is reinterpreting Spain by Chic Corea and Al Jeaureau both jazz kings of my early 60-70's. He is scatting and beat boxing. Way far from R&B Barry it's a jazz Barry 😂 Gary is a great Philippine/Puerto Rican entertainer. He also has a large Christian following.
Hahaha Jazz Barry! Love it!
"Spain" was composed by Joaquin Rodrigo in 1939 with a long history of instrumental adaptations until keyboard genius Chick Corea wrote the jazz fusion lyrics in 1971 and released the album "Light As A Feather" with Corea (Rhodes electric piano), Flora Purim (vocals and percussion), Stanley Clarke (bass), Airto Moreira (drums), and Joe Farrell (flute), and made it a jazz standard by 1973.
"Spain" was recorded in several versions, by Corea himself as well as by other artists, including a flamenco version by Paco de Lucia, Al Di Meola and John McLaughlin in the 1980s, and a progressive bluegrass version by Bela Fleck in 1979. Corea also performed it as a duo with Japanese pianist Hiromi Uehara.
The phenomenal ensemble Manhattan Transfer also did their own version that captured the attention of those who were not really into jazz.
The Light as a Feather version of "Spain" received two Grammy nominations, for Best Instrumental Arrangement and for Best Instrumental Jazz Performance by a Group. In 2001, Corea was awarded the Best Instrumental Arrangement Grammy for "Spain for Sextet and Orchestra".
Al Jarreau came into the picture much later when Chick Corea corroborated with him and with Artie Marten to rewrite the song into jazz fusion, and Jarreau made this popular during his world tour in an album titled "I Can Recall" in 1980. Improvisation is most notable in jazz so listen to how Al Jarreau attacks it with his own scat. facebook.com/AlJarreauOfficial/videos/1022121694523395/
In my humble opinion, Gary Valenciano's cover is far more challenging than that of Al Jarreau because he scatted all the instrumental parts while Jarreau did not.
@@julesdevera8359 to be precised, it's Concerto Aranjuez(a concerto for clsssical guitar" not "Spain"! It is the 2nd movement of the concerto, which you can here in the beginning of "Spain"
N.J. Qualls Thank you for addressing the Al Jarreau issue that is so blatant here...
@@khaalis9385 It's not just the Jarreau influence that is "blatant" (rather harsh word there), because besides Purim and Varga he also mixes in Richard Merck and the percussive scats of Ursula Dudziak (check out "Future Talk")
Thanks for reacting to the 54 year old Gary V.
58 no?
Omg...Gary V is very famous in the Philippines. Love this artist SO MUCH. He is raw energy and a real performer. Ive seen him in person and watched one of his concerts at the front row seats. He sounds and looks great LIVE Versatile and full of energy. Hopefully you get to watch him LIVE.
I've seen Gary in several of his concerts, and he is just as full of energy at present as he was in his early thirties. I think he is now in is late fifties or early sixties. JUST PURE ENERGY!!!
He is know as, “Mr. Pure Energy” in the Philippines. He’s one of Philippine’s pride in the music industry.
Gary V. is not just a singer. His a composer too and a great dancer as well.
He is in this business for between 30-35 years. He is a good dancer too. He used to dance Michael Jackson. I used to follow his concert when he was younger. He is a composer, dancer, singer and music producer. He grew up in the Philippines. His mother is a Puerto Rican and a filipino father.
38 years
you have NO idea how multi talented this man is 😂
He is the "Mr. Pure Energy" of the Philippines... A great Dancer, A great Singer... One of the Biggest name here in our Country...
Mr. Gary Valenciano is an icon here in the Philippines. He is called Mr. Pure Energy and total performer. He has outlived his juvenile diabetes
and later his recent heart operation. He is truly a man of God. He is
also a dancer, musical producer, coach, arranger and composer.
Ahahaha, yep, he kinda uses his whole body when he sings. He also dances well, so dubbed as the Philippines' Mr. Pure Energy. Oh, and he sings really really angelic and holy gospel songs. Will make every hair in your body stand.
On a side note, check out how people imitates him. LOL!
Music composition is by Chick Correa a legendary jazz keyboardist and composer. Lyrics were written later by
Al Jarreau/Artie Maren. Gary V. is. a Mentor to Katrina Velarde. I believe he was influential in her scatting. He is super talented.
Wrong.

Thank you for reacting to Gary V, a great soul, singer and dancer ❣️👍💜
Mr. Pure Energy. I love him cause he can literally deliver the emotion of every song he sings.
You really are a voice coach, a voice coach who's got a lot of talents (in singing) as much as the ones you're reacting to! Among the others who are reacting to a lot of singers' performances, you are one of the few who's got the right to say something about these performances and this is the reason why i just subscribed to your channel! Ah Gary V! The pure energy man in Philippines despite his age (50+ y/o) and his physical illness and he gives all the glory to God for this! He would have been dancing already singing that song if he was on a dance floor :)
Dubbed as the Michael Jackson of the Philippines. He really is an awesome and very animated singer. Please react to Gary V's Warrior Is A Child also at the Wish Bus..
Garry V always sings a song to express not to impress!
The man, the myth, the legend of the Philippines in singing.
I laughed out lout at your expression after the “But that’s not all!” I love watching your reaction while enjoying Gary, myself.

Mr. Gary V. is easily one of the most amazing and influential singers in the country. He's a cancer survivor. He's 55 years old but he can still sing and dance gracefully. That's why he's called Mr. Pure Energy here in the Philippines.
Also, your reactions are all amazing. Keep it up, Sam. I actually learn new things from you. Thank you.

Would you believe it that this Mr. Gary V. is already 50+ years old. And yet can sing that kind of song. Lol
Also, the reason why there's so much energy in his performance is because he's called Pure Energy in the Philippines. He is an energetic dancer and singer.

I usually love Gary V doin his original ballads but here he is treading on Al Jarreau's territory and Al Jarreau still owns this song.
This guy goes with 70/80s jazz and skat like peanut butter and jelly. Salt and pepper. Bread and butter....... your Barry Manilow comparison was so accurate I had to laugh.
That's Gary's signature move when he's singing 😊
Ok one of the best reactions to this ever! I love it so much I have been all over the YOUTube Watching different reactions to the same song cause the song just cheers me up and the reactions cheer me up even more. Thank you 🙏 ❤
He's really like that. He's a dancer also aside from being a singer. That's why HE is called the Pure Energy of the Philippines. And its His way of singing.

Gary V. or Mr. Pure Energy in his prime is an excellent dancer & moves like a Michael Jackson while singing. His Jazzy, bluesy style make it easier for him as he is a good drummer & a pianist, the reason for why his time is perfect... Thank you for finally reacting to him.
You should see him sing and dance.
Saw him perform years ago and he's so good..

Mr. Pure Energy Gary V.
He is still so good now..but i think he was so much better vocally during his prime..
Voice dynamic olympics. Great!
FYI: This is an original song by the late Al Jarreau. That’s how the song should be sung. Gary V is the only other singer who can nail that song.
Elaine Garces it’s not an Al Jarreau original. Chick Corea was the composer and original performer way back 1971 though it was instrumental. Jarreau performed the vocal version in 1980.
Wrong. Fake news.
if you noticed, Al Jarreau was NOT even mentioned in any of the credits. Why not?

He is not the mj of phil. He is gary v, once again he is gary v, HE IS GARY V!!!
The accuracy! Why not? He has been singing that song for years (to show off how good his vocals and ears are probably 😋). The difficulty with staccato notes is that is so easy to hear a misstep (he did not).
Gary V is the one of the Famous singer in the Philippines❤️
Not some singers can do scatting... but he can.
#ProudPinoyHere
#AlotofThanksforReactingToPinoySingers

Classic Al Jarreau (RIP) stylin'. He was a staple in my home growing up as my father was a jazz musician.
