This is Superb stuff! I Love Silat! I'm a Kenpoman and am working towards my Black Belt! I see this and am inspired to get into Silat! Currently we're in the beginning of the Corona Virus lockdown and containment quarantine in the Seattle area in Washington State, U.S.A. So going and attending classes is halted for the foreseeable future. This completely fires me up and makes me want to train! You guys move and flow like I want to achieve! I Love it! I can only imagine it must've been a Blast to work with Cecep Arif Rahman! Great Video, my friends! I'll be sharing this with friends of mine later this evening! 👍💪😎 Full Salute, ~Danny.
im a fan of YOURs i come to Singapore often, im a fan of hard arts , not a much as kung fu or soft styles... maybe you can change my mind as to practical aplication
As far as i know the original purpose of silat is ..make the opponent paralyse or killing without breaking a sweat or using as small and less moves as possible so it does not intent for showing off.. like if you fight a silat master you did not know what happened and realize that you are already in pain and laying on the ground. I learn it once, it sooo pain full because it recognise which part of your neuron system that inflict pain and paralyse you. So if you againts a silat masters there are three option 1. Dont get any closer, put a distance. 2. Run. 3. Beg for a mercy. Good luck guys.
Because they(Southeast Asia) weren't disrupted by a cultural revolution and banning of martial arts including devolving of practicality by not focusing on sparring/practical application. These are the things which have affected Chinese martial arts in the past century. Kung Fu has declined ever since the early 1900s. They focus on looking good, performance, staying healthy and lose focus on the original intention of martial arts... to be effective in combat/warfare/self-defense, to maim, defend/protect & kill.

it's funny that practical kungfu(silat) are grow well outside china. Silat came from kungfu but the ways they teach are more practical than original
