Thank you! More highlights, less dark hair dye. Thanks for watching 😊

I like the highlights! I used to dye my hair years ago, but I had to stop because I was having issues with the hair dye too. It's good you're having fun with it.

Hi Mia, oh no, I hope mine doesn't continue to be irritated regardless of going lighter. I worry I created a beast by going dark. I'm curious, did your hairdresser ever try the sweet & low or did you ever try an antihistamine prior? Neither worked for me, but my hairdresser said that the sweet & low definitely works for some people. I thought maybe I debunked that "fix". Looking at your profile picture, your hair color looks beautiful and natural. If mine look like that, I would feel much better about not dying it. But I think I'm much grayer.. I have never not colored it, so I don't know but I'm sure growing out my natural color will be really hard for me. Oh, the joys of getting older! But it is a blessing to even grow old, so I have to look at it that way. Thank you for watching. 😘

@NonnasCleanGetaway thank you - you're so sweet to say that. It took a drastic cut and a couple years to get my hair to my natural color after years of coloring. My issue with the dye was that it just started washing out within a few days of coloring. My hair dresser said my hair cuticle was damaged, maybe from bad hair dye or a reaction to it. She did recommend antihistamines but not sweet n low. I decided to just start over, I cut my hair to a pixie cut and kept it that style until all colored hair was cut out. It took about 6 months. Then I just let my hair grow. The grey is coming in more and more, but I prefer it to the battle I was having with hair dye. I could just never get the color right, I think, because I was probably allergic to it or not using the right brand for me.
I think your color turned out really nice. You look like actress, Jeanne Tripplehorn, with this color. I hope the reaction you had to the dye is over. Does your hairdresser do the test with dyes to see if you're allergic? Mine never did, and I think it would have prevented a lot of trouble if she had.
I hope you have a great day!

@@miareynolds8761Why we think it's the darker color is because we're using the same brand of hair color but I believe a level 6, whereas before I believe we were using a level eight. I'm not 100% on the numbers but I do know it is the same brand. (I just copied this from google - Many permanent and some semi-permanent hair dyes contain a chemical called paraphenylenediamine (PPD), which is a known irritant and allergen. Darker coloured dyes contain higher level of PPD. PPD is the cause of most reactions to hair dye). So now my big worry is, did I make a minor allergy that I didn't even notice a bigger allergy? And if I did, I may do what you did and do a really short cut until all the color grows out. But not to sound too vain, I'm not sure if I'm ready for my natural hair color yet. I feel like now that I've entered my 50s that would just be a big slap in the face. 😂 I believe my mom, at about my age, had the same problem that you had to where her hair wouldn't hold onto the color. I'll have to ask her about that. I have an aloe vera plant in the backyard so I am tempted to cut a leaf off and rub it all over my scalp. The reaction is still not as bad as the second time but it's definitely still screaming at me. Thank you for such a nice compliment! Jeanne Triplehorn is beautiful! A few years ago, my husband did a Netflix series called 'Away' with Hilary Swank. So of course our family's watched the series the night it was released; he and I kept getting texts to say I look like her. That was such a nice compliment as well! It's interesting to see how other people see you. 😊 I will have to mention Jeanne to him.
I hope you have a wonderful day! ❤
