  • In this video I give the Warbonnet Blackbird XLC Hammock an in depth overview, along with the Warbonnet Superfly, and the Warbonnet Wooki Underquilt.
Thats right, we have an almost exclusively Warbonnet Hammock sleeping system, and we love it!
This video will describe all of the pieces we use in our entire system, including all the different modifications we did to our Warbonnet Superfly rainfly's.
Just a quick edit. The Bearbutt Tree straps have 20 loops per strap, not 10. My apologies.

Overall we cannot find a single thing we dont like about our Warbonnet Blackbird hammocks. They are extremely well made and expertly engineered to be exactly what every camper in every style would need. From backpacking to car camping, and even canoe or kayak camping. These hammocks really are perfect.
I hope our setup inspires you to make some of your own modifications to your existing setup.
Until the next one, Thanks for watching! Happy Paddling!

Double layer also gives ya extra protection from mosquitos in warmer weather when you don’t need an underquilt. I love my XLC lightweight double

I have the Warbonnet Blackbird XLC with their Superfly tarp. It's a great hammoc setup. I chose the buckle and web suspension. It's a bit heavier than a whoopie sling suspension, but the ease of use is worth the tiny extra bit of weigh. No need to buy additional tree straps.

I've seen the buckle suspension, we like the ones we got from Amazon for now but we may invest in something like that later on. What ridgeline did you get for the superfly? Or did you make your own?

@@backyardkayakingcamping8778 I'm not using a ridgeline for my Superfly. I clip small Cam Jams directly to the rings on the tarp. Quick setup and easily adjustable

Nicely done. Thank you for keeping it short and relevant! I’ve had my Warbonnet Blackbird XLC for about three years now and have slept in it probably 50 times. I absolutely love it. The shelf is the handiest feature but there are so many more features to the blackbird that it’s hard to describe them all. I also have the wookiee under quilt and I wished I had bought it right from the start instead of trying to stay warm in my north face sleeping bag without it. It takes hammock camping to a whole new level and in my opinion is definitely the best under quilt on the market, especially the way it is sewn in to material that makes it quick attach to the hammock without a bunch of repositioning once you are in the hammock. My next purchase will be the super fly tarp. I have worn out my ENO tarp. Thanks again, great video

Ive had a warbonnet tarp for years, but I could really use a hammock upgrade. This looks really nice! New subscriber here from the FB page.

Thanks! We did enormous research before we purchased our setup. Both me and the wife sport the same Blackbird XLC, however hers is in charcoal and forest green (so she can "hide".) I'm waiting for an excuse to get a winter topcover in snowcamo. The idea for the shock cord and guy lines actually came from another RUclipsr - Terry Hikes. And of course the legend Shug.

Thank you! After such a long period of time with them there really isn't anything I would want different out of a hammock setup, only upgrades to handle different conditions.

You mentioned you got Superfly tarps, but the one in the video you show at 5m45s is a Mountainfly (shorter doors). I know bc I have that version.

Thanks for that! I hadn't noticed, we got them for Christmas and had asked for the superfly (because of Florida rains) and didn't even notice they were different. I may have to do an updated review video. 🤔

Hey yall! Thanks for watching! We really love our setup and hope you find some useful info in there as well. Just a fix, BearButt tree straps have 20 loops per 10ft strap and I had mentioned having the superfly tarps, they are mountainfly tarps. Happy Paddling!

Check out the Warbonnet El Dorado. Same as the XLT but without the shelf. Shelf was decent but I didn't love it. Save some weight and use a ridgeline organizer.

We might look into that but honestly we were looking at a one and done purchase with these and so far I'm very happy with it.
