You'll like the 600 to Riseley too. New route bolted onto the old Tiger 7 route has some of the newest buses in town. Also revived after being axed in 2016 122 Reading to Watlington across the tops of the Chiltern Hills, you can then get the hourly 11 into Oxford which makes a nice journey.
Welcome to Reading! The lion route will have 8 new buses (E400city) in just a few weeks time. They will replace the current E400 as they are quite unreliable sometimes, often broken down. 1 of them (bus 214) even caught on fire just last month and it's not on the list anymore...
! Hehehe! Mad Busman (your friendly jovial Reading nickname) is finally in town! 😊Check out X40, 800 / 850 (catch a double decker if you can!). All Reading routes have something of interest, but most interesting in Reading I think are 15 to Theale, 16, 33, Caversham routes 22, 23, 24, 25, enjoy feeling lost in Woodley on the 13/14. Also check out the Jet Black 1, Lime 2, Leopard 3. Come down one day when they are running the open top 17! I know lots of other scenic routes around here :)
Reading won their bus improvement plan bid, so that might be why they are getting new buses now. A few years ago we had shiny new buses on all the main routes, but they kept being vandalised or mistreated - the new 17 buses (which were amongst the nicest in the UK) were immediately trashed (I can see why Stagecoach, Arriva and First don't bother), plus of course much lower usage during Covid so since then they tended to refurbish or buy second hand rather than replace with new buses nowadays.
Guess What They Got A New Lion Bus In Reading Did You Try It.
Can you possibly do Lion 4 both ways.
Sure
Great ride happy new year Paul in Kent
Thanks. Happy new year.
Lovely livery and one of the nicest interiors I've seen very tidy too
Nice ride - Nostagia for growing up 50, 60 years ago - bike rides Reading to Wokingham (and by SR train) to Martin's Swim Pool .
Wish that can bring back some memories for you🥳
