If you have Two Step verification you'll notice that the "allow less secure app" option isn't available. to get around that use the same method in this video the only difference is you have to generate an app password for windows here's a link to quickly get there security.google.com/settings/security/apppasswords here you can generate an app password for outlook and it will give you a password you can use on the Outlook Software. copy that password and paste in in the password column of your email setup

its not wroking i have getting same error Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP): The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
I just went to Google account login. Did forgot password. They send a passcode as long as you have another e-mail on record and just changed my password. Problem solved
Go to login Gmail REMOTELY thru the WEBSITE. Then it will ask you for your password. If your password doesn't work, it will ask you for your last know password. Enter that and it will take you to change password. Change your password and REMEMBER it. Then go back to your regular e-mail and where it pops up, put in your NEW password. It should then work.

I found that if two step verification is enabled you have to get an application specific password to allow less secure app access. Suddenly Outlook 2013 became less secure when I changed my Google password. Good video. helped me in the right direction.

I had a struggle because my computer didn't have the icons you used, but with your thorough explanations I eventually found my way to my Outlook folder where I muddled my way until I identified the section where I was able to enable imap. Gmail is now sending and receiving once again and no more annoying pop up boxes

I like how this takes you through the setup, although a long way for the fix. The setting in google profile is the quick fix, but again this helps you set up everything. WIth Google updates the menus are slightly different in the Sign in & security, but easy to figure out.

Outdated Google version makes it difficult to follow instructions as the pages and steps outlined do not talk to current version. Great tutorial up to the point of solving the pop-up issue in Outlook -username and password issue. Might be time to do another vid as I couldn't even locate what was required to fix the problem. I have googled on how to set up Gmail on outlook 2016 though it didn't give me any workaround on how to fix the error message but you nailed it and I am now able to use outlook.

Outdated Google version makes it difficult to follow instructions as the pages and steps outlined do not talk to current version. Great tutorial up to the point of solving the pop-up issue in Outlook -username and password issue. Might be time to do another vid as I couldn't even locate what was required to fix the problem.
