Yeah, Heroes and Shadow added an ugly decrease in speed and the future games just have you perfectly horizontal without gaining speed or momentum at all 😢

Honestly, as cool as this is, I still miss Shadow's skating animations from SA2. From Heroes and forward they became so weird and flailing compared to the gliding, actually skating-like movements from Shadow's debut.
The only thing that bugs me about this mod is the voice acting. Not to say the actors didn't do a good job, I just think Sonic's voice actor could have done a few more takes of certain lines, or maybe an original Sonic voice altogether instead of trying to imitate Ryan. The cadence just seems off, and the voice seems too deep at times. The best way I can describe it is it doesn't sound like Sonic, but a guy doing a Sonic voice, if that makes sense.
There was literally no reason to add new voice lines.
@@Rusty_Spy I agree, but it would feel weird to add new sfx and music, but leave the voices unchanged. I don't mind new voice lines being added, I just think that it maybe should have had a bit more time put in to get the perfect takes.
@@DarktheEagle it really really _really_ wouldn't. Certainly not as weird as hearing some amateur randy replacing the original voices
@@Rusty_Spy Listen, I've _been_ a voice match for a video game mod before. It's not easy, but when it's done well, it works REALLY well, like their Shadow voice.
The voices aren't my favorite, but its the victory animations, especially Shadow's that aren't doin it for me.
Great, the sound effects are much better mixed now. While the Jason Griffith Shadow impression sounds great here, I'm hoping every character will have a toggle between their original and new voices
Agreed. Hearing a Jason Griffith inspired Shadow in SA2 just feels wrong.
If they add new obstacles to every boss fight to make them tougher that'd be sweet. Sound balancing is definitely improved this update.

Putting aside problems with audio levels, remix choices, and odd changes like items in Sonic vs Shadow 2, I'm just glad that someone else out there is appreciating the Olympic Games' Crazy Gadget remix.
Yesss, huge audio improvements! City Escape looks a lot cleaner ^^ Loveee the additions to the final chase. Poor Shadow's end pose could use some love, tho, lol!! In love with this
I noticed they changed the Crazy Gadget theme to the one from the Dream Trampolining Event in Mario and Sonic 2012 Olympics; That's a cool touch!
I always wonder why they make Shadow's energy color red. The yellow makes more sense cause thats the color you see when he takes off his inhibitor rings.
But other than that nitpicking, i freaking love this. Every movement is so smooth and flows so nicely into the next. Even the voices being redone sounds great.

But i always thought that the whole reason Shadow's energy color is the same as his super form cause he has all that power available to him at all times regardless of the chaos emeralds, his inhibitor rings just regulate his power so that he doesn't pass out or die from exhaustion.
I always assumed him apparently passing out(dying actually) at the end of SA2 was due to him taking those off in an addition to the already super power boost from the emeralds. Even if the game never showed him take em off.
After Sonic X showed it, that pretty much became the explanation as to why he fell to earth and Sonic didn't.
Now mind you, thats just my own theory, A SONIC THEORY. But it makes the most sense to me.

I hope they'll add new Eggman lines in Crazy Gadget. That was one of my favorite parts in story mode.
Totally agree there, actually I wonder if I played it from story mode if there would have been lines. (Guessing not but next time I'll double check.)

I love how we have several gaming mods throughout not only Sonic, but throughout the Mario & Sonic games! In fact, I have been saying that since Sega’s contract expired with Nintendo. They should have the Mario Brothers and their friends team up with Sonic and his friends again in spin-offs.
I played it and i will say it is pretty good for what it’s going for. However i do feel as if Sonic & Shadow can start to feel way too slippery and just start to move to sides you don’t want them to. And white jungle has a part that extends the original. But it doesn’t let you go through properly. Besides that I think that this has amazing ground work and I’m excited to see the final product.
People really love adventure 2 so much i love this game too

Looks nice, but something about the quills animation looks off when Sonic is falling, it doesn't look like natural movement provoked by wind, anyways...the project looks really good, i just wish we could get some of the stages assets redone as well.
Agree, I personally prefer the original SA2 quill movements, just a little bouncing since they are, well, hard quills. I think some people likes it to be more like hair but well, even with the soft quills its better than frontiers haha

all in all looks good but the speed increase looks kinda hard and this is coming from someone that A ranked all of sonic and shadow stages, if there was an option to turn down the frame rate i'd do that

I feel like this mod would be so much more interesting if the new high-poly models were based in the stylization of the OG ones from SA2, instead of having these neutered pixar-like modern iterations. The new running animations are a complete disgrace too, and look far less interesting and with less character compared to the original ones.
I like nearly all of the additions to the gameplay, but I absolutely detest what they've done with both the models and running animations. And I'm not alone here. But alas, ultimately these are tastes we're discussing, and it's hard to formulate complete arguments that fully convince "the other side".

They didnt really fix rail trick animations
Really wish this would just be a graphic update without the animation and voice line changes. Kinda ruins the whole experience. I hate the new added animations where he jumps and the new voice lines don't fit at all
The camera in Crazy Gadget is atrocious, this hasn't fixed it.
Sonic and Shadow's running animations are pretty off looking, seems like they went skipped half of the actual running animation and went straight to the sprinting/max speed one. Sonic's voice is also notably worse than Shadow's

Bosses are definitely the adventure games weak points. Biolizard is a pretty dope boss fight. Big Foot is cool the first time you play it, but easy to cheese. Oh and egg golem is sick
I wouldn't say they were bad just very dated. They were fine for its time. The mod is dope tho. I'd just personally stick with the original music and voices.
