    I keep seeing this router going for 200€. Been thinking about it lately, as reviews suggest it has excellent coverage. I'm also considering the Synology WRX560, but at 250€ it's a bit of a stretch. The only thing really keeping me from going into this one is the size. Seeing it on video it looks absolutely massive...

    This is great, i am struggling to pick between the ax6000 and axe16000, yhe ax6000 will suit me well now and for the next few years, but in 5 years time then axe16000 will still be doing a great job.
    I think i will get the ax6000 now and hopefully pick up the axe16000 in a few years for half the price.

    A very good and comprehensive review of this product. I experienced the same caveats as you mentioned, and after some tuning, I have got some really good network connectivity. Thank you for your time and efforts to share this with us all and for your honesty.

    How are your 2Ghz devices at home with this router? I have purchased many newer asus gaming routers and have had so many issues with the 2ghz band constantly losing devices.
    To the point that I am currently still on my Asus AC3100. I will appreciate your feedback.

    Do you need a switch or could i just plug modem to one 2.5port and the other 2.5port to my pc?

    • @Eshcole
      @Eshcole  5 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, you can do that if you want.

  • @N8x10
    @N8x10 Год назад +1

    Do I need to put my modem into bridge mode if I’m already paying for 2gig internet and my wire runs 2gig into the first port would I be able to just plug into the other 2.5 port to access my 2 gig speed? I’m looking into this if my router doesn’t work with the moca adapter.

    • @Eshcole
      @Eshcole  Год назад +1

      If you're modem is also a router then yes you would need to put it into bridge mode but if it's just a modem than you dont need to do that. Typically, if you're modem has multiple network ports on the back than it's a router as well. If all you want is more ports to use your 2gig speed then a 2.5G switch might be all you need.

    • @N8x10
      @N8x10 Год назад

      @@Eshcole I am not sure but I know my router is connected to another box thru fiber and also I have been in the market for a multi gig router as well so I bought the nighthawk raxe500 but it only had 1 2.5 alongside two (1+1) multi gig ports that only worked if your modem supported wan aggregation. When testing I moved theWAN port over to the 2.5 port it showed my internet speed at 2.5 gigs but my lans only put out 1gig from each port. I know my Frontier router has only 1 2.5 port but it also has a MoCa connection that allows for a MoCa adapter to use as a 2.5 lan/wan port. (I know this because the tech guy tried to setup for me but couldn’t figure out why frontiers MoCa adapter wasn’t corresponding w/ the router). So I ended up just buying my own MoCa adapter but still got only 1gig speed to realize my pc motherboards ethernetport only supports to max 1gig speed (due to what’s in the current market for motherboards). I’m also curious did you end up getting a pcie Ethernet card? I just got mine and when I install it today I hope it gets my 2gig speed otherwise I’m going to try one more time with the ASUS Gt-ax6000 and if that doesn’t work Ima just take the L and wait for some cash.

    • @Eshcole
      @Eshcole  Год назад

      For me, that needed 2.5GB ports for my current network the AX6000 is better. If you don't need that for yours, you can save some money and get the AX88U. I would watch more reviews specifically for that router to ensure it has all the features you want before pulling the trigger.

    is the game acceleration
    is worth it?

    • @Eshcole
      @Eshcole  Год назад

      In my experience with these kind of features, they can be helpful but not that much. The router is still awesome even without the gaming stuff but If you have issues with lag when gaming online, the real solution is troubleshooting your network to improve your internet speed. This could lead to upgrading your internet plan or network devices.
