Last Sunday night I was released from the Murray medical center. I’m 55 years old. I got the word from the doctor that I had aortic valve stenosis earlier this summer. This necessitated open-heart surgery on August 13. Literally, I went from a runner to a patient in the hospital. This was a hard thing for me. Physically speaking, but later, I learned that both emotionally and mentally this would be the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced. I went into this with faith in modern medicine, and with a prayer that the Savior would be close, and that his angels would watch over me. Through the scriptures, personal prayer, attendance in the temple, and pondering deeply, I felt spiritually prepared for what is really one of my great fears. I come out with full gratitude for doctors and nurses. Grateful to be given the gift of life again. I am recovering really well and back on my feet. I now walk 2 miles daily and will work back toward running again. I am most grateful for the Savior. I have a firm testimony of the power that comes thru the Spirit when seeking personal revelation when facing trials. Gene Needham Logan, Utah
Has Faith taken on the role of a waiter? Has receiving a tip or blessings become the only thing that keeps your faith alive? Since servers give excellent service, it has been common for them to receive tips; this is no longer a gesture of gratitude for their dedication; rather, it is now expected. Without expecting anything else, not even favors, we should have confidence in the Heavenly Father and his plan. Seek out time and discussion with Heavenly Father each day.

Amen. 😊 Even if it's just sitting quietly for 10 minutes or watching/listening to a Come Follow Me video by active saints. 🤍
