'The freedom fighter' The scammer who takes your item and says that you had a free listing or that you posted for less bells, then doesn't drop anything. They'll try to stall you until the game auto saves and you can't disconnect so they can keep the item 'The thrift scammer' a scammer who comes to your island during a yard sale and steals the items on the ground, replacing it with something else. The classic “you go first” scammer 😭 I’ve been experiencing that since I was a kid doing trades on Animal Jam and MovieStarPlanet lol. Luckily I haven’t come across it using Nookazon.
I got Raymond for free or well for one of my drawings, people really like my bulletin board drawings that one of them offered me Raymond and now he lives in my island near my house
You forgot the one who pays you a million NMT on an auction for a gold watering can and the only other bid was 2 NMT and they tell you to hurry up because their switch was on 2% and they're 200 miles away from a charger and when you drop it, they take it, say thanks, and RUN!!!
Hoo boy, I’ve encountered a ‘ransom scammer.’ I was on someones island, watering flowers with my golden watering can. The host had 2 other people on her island. One for a trade with a wand (person 2) and dunno about the other, who’s the scammer. After I was done watering flowers, scammer kept begging me to give her my golden watering can to keep, over and over. I said no. Well, scammer wedged themselves between the host and person 2 who were trading items for a wand. "Too good to be True." Scammer When the game first came out, I noticed that people in the AC community were rather desperate for rose seed bags. I thought, "Hey, I have roses in the nook shop. I could get on this bandwagon." And proceeded to try and sell them. Someone said, "I'll give ya ten million for ten of each color." And I was ecstatic. They came to my island, I gave them the rose bags...and they left. I was being optimistic thinking, "Maybe they're going to get the money since ten million is a lot to carry?" But the feeling of dread and realism slowly crept in. Looking back, I was very dumb. But yeah, I'm sure I can't be the only one who fell for the "Too Good to be True" Scam... right?
I’ve encountered a scammer where I gave them the item and they even gave me some cupcakes and asked “do you want a tour” and I said Sure and then they just kicked me off in the middle of the tour and I never got my item There’s also the “Turnip scammer” where they say they have 500 bell prices but really only have like 90
I've been buttered up before. There's no way they'll ever come back there ever again. Thankfully, all she took was 2 hybrid flowers and I caught her before she took anything else. She lied and lied and denied it so much. They were the only one on my best friends list but tried to blame it on a non-existent mystery person on my island. That sucked, but I learned and my best friends list is off limits to anyone now.
I have a "friend" on my switch who constantly asks for items. I don't know them irl, but they are pretty nice. And then I restarted my island and I can't text them anymore. Idk their nookazon name or any other social media. So froggy from Hawaii, if you see this I'm sorry. I don't ignore you. I just don't get the messages anymore....
The turnip scammers that charge an outrageous fee just to get onto the island and then once you check the prices it’s actually lower than they advertised.
i know of another type of scammer that tried to scam me. I call them the "clueless" scammer. They place down the money and wait for you to place down the item, but when you hover over the money, its only 1,000-2,000 bells rather than what they promised (they promised me 100k). When you tell them about this, they will act completely clueless and even when you tell them multiple times its not the correct amount of money, they'll just take the item and head off. The alternative to this is sometimes you'll pick up your item again and tell them to pick their bells back up, end the session because it seems suspicious, and then they'll try to ban your nookazon account, saying you didnt give them "time" or "didnt inform them".
One of the scammers i frequently run into is an offshoot of the butter up scammer. I call them the UwU scammer. Basically they act really chill and wholesome to lure you into a false sense of security, complimenting your villagers, showing off their island, promising a giant tip etc. Then when they're actually ready to give you the thing they promised you, they ask for you to pay them first to prove you're not a scammer. Then they trample your flowers and leave.

The one time I went to another island, the guy was really sweet, gave me my needed vegetables and fruits, and even gave me some new furniture, all for free. Wouldn't even accept payment. But I'll consider this a lucky encounter, and stick to my own island for now.
The ‘confident scammer’ guy came for a yard sale. After filling his inventory with stuff he ran out of bounds and tried to steal some of my other stuff. i recently did a move out offer... and they "don't remember what items i had" i told them what i had and they "didn't have it in their storage or on their island" uhhhhh huhhhhh
I've only encountered one kind of scammer, who I'd like to refer to as the "honest scammer" I had moved a starter out and was looking for merry, I found someone listing her with no reviews but made an offer out of how desperate I was. I was on my way home and we were talking a bit. About how I kicked off a starter for her, and the person said to me "hey mate, i was totally gonna scam you, but you seem so nice and innocent that i would just feel bad doing that. Sorry for wasting your time" even though i didnt get merry that day, it was still funny to me
When someone makes a list of items they want in return for a touch trade, everyone I've ever met only wants one or two of them. They're not asking for all of them, they're asking for any of them that you happen to have.
If I have someone coming to my island for something I always fence off the entrance so we have a little trading area, theres two stools we both drop stuff at the same time then hop on the stool and just scoot our way around to the other side and pick up the stuff. Honestly scammers usually run away from my island cause they see the set up lol
Here’s one that exists “The Fee” It’s the player that has a fee for the island visit as in you get there and there waiting and it’s blocked and you have to pay like 10,000 bells to enter.
The goodbye scammer as soon as you put the things down they kick you from their island this happened to me when I was trying to get a Muffy photo and it made me so mad that I had left 6000 bells on the ground
Great Video! An other scammer type is: Imagine you agreed to pay 99k bells and 10 nook miles tickets for an item. The scammer comes to your island and drops one bag of bells and 1 stack of nook miles tickets then they take the item they where suppose to take and go back to their island before you can pick up the payment. Afterwards you pick up the payment and realized that the scammer actually dropped 1k bells and 1 nook miles tickets. I hope this makes sense!
This wasn't on Nookazon, but on a live stream for a treasure island (PeaBay) and I was going to give someone 100 nmt for 1 Million bells. After I gave it to them, they dropped the bells and only gave me 200k, I complained in the chat that they didn't give me the amount, and they replied with "sowwyyy im broke:(" and i said "then why tf would you agree to give me 1 mil if you didn't have enough?"
It made absolutely no sense, but it was a good thing that I had about 1000 NMT and 75 mil bells or that would've been a huge loss for me. I was just upset that they played innocent when they knew very well what they were doing.
I've ran into a scammer on Nookazon. I was buying something expensive for a bunch of bells and went to their island. I then picked up the item after dropping the money and went home. After that the item was not in my inventory. idk what happened but it was gone.
i once got the "you go first scammer" they told me to go first ( duh ) and when I did go first, they kicked me out;-;. but thank god, my friend could get them and get my item back, a great video btw!!
I had an experience with an attempted butter-up scammer. Was running a yard sale, was only expecting a few thousand bells, I informed people there wasn’t much. Guy offers 20 NMTs and like, a million or so bells. He did pay, then complained in the review that there wasn’t much and that it was picked over (they where the second person there). I honestly feel they where trying to get me to be friends or just give them more or something?
I feel like with the item one it depends how close the colors were, if you got a dark grey potted plant instead of a black potted plant then it was more than likely an accident But if you were looking for a pink item and you get something blue then... yea... that’s sus! Still most AC players are lovely and the fact that scammers exist is something I just can’t picture even though we’ve all experienced it! ALSO loved the vid! Subbed!!!
I got scammed once by someone on a live stream chat who didn't give me the right amount of bells, and their excuse was "sowwwy im broke:(" but so far, I've never been scammed on Nookazon. The only problem I have is that some people take 2-3 days just to answer and then get upset when I say I don't want the item anymore.
my first time doing a touch trade i hadn’t really understood it completely, so, when I tried walking way with the item the owner has to trap me. i felt so bad 😩 (i did drop the item after they explained and apologized like 50 times)
I've ran into a scammer on Nookazon. I was buying something expensive for a bunch of bells and went to their island. I then picked up the item after dropping the money and went home. After that the item was not in my inventory. idk what happened but it was gone.
I've experienced the "this art is totally real" scammer I was trying to get a warrior statue on nookazon and then when the seller left my island I placed it and I realized it was fake but I did get to talk to them and they gave me the real one so I'm not sure if they were exactly a scammer
Here's a "materials required" scammer story I have I was trying to make an astrological themed room that uses a bunch of DIY's from Celeste. I was looking at listings for the Starry Garland and I saw someone making it for free if you gave them the materials to craft. I was on my way to their island, and I gave them the 10 star fragments and they went to craft it. They said that they had the DIY before I came and they didn't have it all of a sudden. They refused to give me my star fragments.
Suggestion The “leave the bells here” scammer. Basically a scammer who for example a incline they don’t show you the incline they just say. Leave the bells here I will put them in later. But then they just get bells and they don’t have an incline so they take your bells.
I had situations where I had to pay for 150k but this girl when she took all the money tells me that she only got 70k and she wants the rest? emmmm what? I gave you 150k, then she gave me 3 stars for paying her half. and if I hadn't thought then maybe I would have earned her more than the contract was, what a scam
A tip that helped me is, if you see them doing the "🤔💭" animation that means its a certain trade then, and you can trust them and give them payment or item
Once I had this friend named snowy I think I didn’t invite her I was just chatting with my other friend and then she got her shovel and stole all my golden roses and other random flowers and put her stuff by it because her pockets where full and I could see her standing by the beach and she was like “iT wAsN’t mE :c”
I had one today drop 100,000 instead of 1,000,000 and ran away. They waited for me to write a poor review and then messaged me to meet them at thier island and give me the bells. Then the scammer reported me because i wrote a poor review. Even though i wrote it before she tried to make it right. So she would have got away with it if I didnt leave a poor review. I got bullied by her to change the review and also a nookazon moderator to remove the review. Unbelievable.
Omg this was so far 2 of my worst trade's recently! They give a free incline and pay me with bells of 1,000 end up giving me 3,000 bells. When I told them It was more they left. And then had the audacity to leave a review saying they gave me 239,000 bells and I was asking for more. And the 2 one is the one that you trade the item and they just tour your island without you asking. Even when you have all items and Diy scattered around the island!
i used to use stars as lanters. someone I invited from a server to see my garden stole all the stars and left and I was so sad bc it took so long to find a shooting star day to get them you know?
This never happened to me but you can put the review scammer where the trade goes fine but even if you were as nice as you could be they would give you a 1star review and say that you scammed her when in reality she really didn't
A scammer I saw was the *super nice one* they would trick and say I’ll give you this but you have to give me your stuff first… I saw this happen to my friend. The person was so sweet until she gave her all the stuff then didn’t give her the stuff she was giving for extra and didn’t give her any of her stuff at all…
I'm sure it's not a scam but it always rubs me the wrong way when I trade on nookazon and say I'm selling for 1 million bells but the user gives me 10 99,000 bags. I'm always to socially awkward to tell them that 10 99,000 bell bags does not equal 1 million. So in the end I don't get the full worth of an item.
Got 10M bells for Raymond a few days ago. The buyer had to make 3 trips to get me all the bells, but took Raymond on their 1st visit. My trust issues were fuming! But everything turned out great. Except for the part where they hinted that my outfit was bad ... I liked my outfit
Has anyone ever met a half and half scammer? I was on nookazon the other day looking for Chevre and this girl wanted 50 nmt and 500,000 for her, thats the average so i put 1,000,000 and 50 nmt. Well i went to look at her reviews and she had half good reviews, and half bade reviews. Villagers and more pricey items were bad reviews and things like iron and clay and things that dont sell for as much she had 5 stars and they were preaching about how good and amazing she was. I didnt end up trading with her because when i got there i looked at her map and she didnt even have her but that is what i personally call the Half and Half Scammer. Be safe on nookazon please!
My type of scammer: the one that doesn't reply after a auction even though they are online, even after multiple days Otherwise known as the The Ignore Messages Scammer
Ya forgot about the "clueless one" this is the only trade scam ive experienced, so the trade is going fine then you ask them where the rest of the items are, they'll make a bad excuse then youll continue on ( the one i got was i used 1 nmt and im not comfortable dropping the rest of the 99 ) then once you start getting mad because they took the item/villager without giving the full amount they are confused why your so mad lmao
When I have any villager move out, I'll list them fpr Offers O ly Nook Miles tickets. Someone once gave me 1t0 for Voc because Vic was their dream villager.
Last week I spent about three days browsing nookazon to find a black rattan lamp to match the rest of my house. I find a listing and pay 30k bells for it, I get the lamp and put it in my house only to see that…it’s grey. I don’t even know if I was scammed or if it was just an honest mistake. I would’ve let it slide if I wasn’t in so much distress about the ever so slight difference between the black and grey lamps. So I try again, but this time I pay 35k, and again, it’s grey. 30 minutes if unnecessary distress later I try one more time, payed 50k bells, and finally, miraculously, I get the right color 😤
i didn't see the shark, the simple details is that if you sell, lets say a stack of gold nuggets for 100k, they will eventually converse you into under selling for 50k, they also love finding people who under sell products for their prices, they are sharks, they bite as soon as possible and want to get more than what they payed for.
The “I forgot” scammer Once I was trying to trade a villager off my island, and the scammer came, I was telling them to drop everything first before I’d let them in, and they said ok. They went into the villager’s house and went they came out they said they forgot to bring the money. And then I realized it was a scam! So I immediately put my switch to sleep, which restarted everything, and they didn’t get that villager off :0
I got Raymond 100% for free, No nook mile tickets no nothing, All that happened was one of my old villagers Marcie moved out which I was fine with since she wasn’t really one of my favorites but in any case a few days later I see that Raymond just so happened to randomly move himself in- here’s the big kicker though I didn’t even really want him at the time- I just kinda kept him since I grew attached to him eventually and to make people jealous lol
One time this girl wanted to visit my island so I said alright and opened my island gate. Then she tricked me by buttering me up by pretending to be my friend. As Soon as I best friended her... she took all my flowers and completely destroyed my island. It hurts..
Oof. I told someone else this but as soon as I get a new switch and my island back I could definitely help you as I don’t play animal crossing that much anymore.
Yeah that's why I don't do art or statue trades with people unless they have all 5 stars, no accusations of being a scammer and at least over 20 reviews from trading
a contine of the villager betrayer but after they dm u acting like they didnt know what happend and say that they promise once the villager is i boxed they will give it to u....then ghost u..forever
Yeah, pretty sure I've come across a "butter up" scammer. They seemed pretty chill so I bestfriended them, and then they immediately started cutting down my bamboo trees. So anyway. Don't bestfriend people the first time you trade with them, I guess. Lesson learned.
My worst experience on nookazon there was this guy who placed an offer on something then not even 5 mins later canceled it saying that I'm unresponsive then made the offer for the same amount right afterwards. It kind of made me a little upset by him doing that but I accepted the offer because it was higher then usual. Then he had me wait for 45 mins to come to my island and kept sending me a message saying that he would be there soon and even called me impatient. It was all for some art work and he even at one point said to me, this better not be fake because I feel like you're a scammer and I don't trust you. I was like you know this artwork doesn't have a fake version right? And I have like 700 reviews all good sooo I should have just canceled the trade with him being so rude but I didn't because of the offer. When he finally arrived he only dropped 10nmt when he offered 40. I asked where the other 30 was and he said that he wasn't going to give it to me because I was being so rude to him. Which I wasn't I was being like super nice even though he was making me really mad. I just kicked him off my island after that. IDK if anyone else has experienced this but it was just all very frustrating

I had moved a starter out and was looking for merry, I found someone listing her with no reviews but made an offer out of how desperate I was.
Here’s one that exists
“The Fee”
It’s the player that has a fee for the island visit as in you get there and there waiting and it’s blocked and you have to pay like 10,000 bells to enter.
I feel like with the item one it depends how close the colors were, if you got a dark grey potted plant instead of a black potted plant then it was more than likely an accident
But if you were looking for a pink item and you get something blue then... yea...
The only problem I have is that some people take 2-3 days just to answer and then get upset when I say I don't want the item anymore.
my first time doing a touch trade i hadn’t really understood it completely, so, when I tried walking way with the item the owner has to trap me. i felt so bad 😩 (i did drop the item after they explained and apologized like 50 times)
omg you made us sound like we buying animal slaves... kinda scary how addictive this game is
animal trafficing for raymond baby
I've ran into a scammer on Nookazon. I was buying something expensive for a bunch of bells and went to their island. I then picked up the item after dropping the money and went home. After that the item was not in my inventory. idk what happened but it was gone.
i got scammed by the "you go first" scammer
good thing it was a spooky tree which i had a diy recipe for
I've experienced the "this art is totally real" scammer I was trying to get a warrior statue on nookazon and then when the seller left my island I placed it and I realized it was fake but I did get to talk to them and they gave me the real one so I'm not sure if they were exactly a scammer
Here's a "materials required" scammer story I have
I was trying to make an astrological themed room that uses a bunch of DIY's from Celeste.
I had Ramon once on a nmt island I thought wow he’s ugly.
at 4:01 what pants is the mario hat person wearing?
There’s the one who takes advice of the fact you have to pay in installments, get one installment out of your, the CLOSE THE ISLAND
This never happened to me but you can put the review scammer where the trade goes fine but even if you were as nice as you could be they would give you a 1star review and say that you scammed her when in reality she really didn't
I gave someone 8 mil and 30 nmt for Raymond yesterday, legit dont regret it he was my dreamie ever since I started the game
A scammer I saw was the *super nice one* they would trick and say I’ll give you this but you have to give me your stuff first… I saw this happen to my friend. The person was so sweet until she gave her all the stuff then didn’t give her the stuff she was giving for extra and didn’t give her any of her stuff at all…
As soon as I seen admiral in their wish list, on to the next
I’m so glad we have the customization llama so we don’t have to go through all of these touch trade shenanigans anymore.
That first one, doest that list of items means that you can trade ANY of those items for the item you want?
0:27 wait is froggy on a ad?
So glad I luckily have yet to come across someone when I'm buying or selling an item on nookazon.
For my first ever trade, I thought I got scammed. No, it turns out there was an internet problem lol.
There’s one that makes false trade promises and take a lot of expensive stuff that u sell for cheap
My type of scammer: the one that doesn't reply after a auction even though they are online, even after multiple days
Otherwise known as the
The Ignore Messages Scammer
Ya forgot about the "clueless one" this is the only trade scam ive experienced, so the trade is going fine then you ask them where the rest of the items are, they'll make a bad excuse then youll continue on ( the one i got was i used 1 nmt and im not comfortable dropping the rest of the 99 ) then once you start getting mad because they took the item/villager without giving the full amount they are confused why your so mad lmao
If the player I was trading suddenly just stood there I would instantly pick up my bells
I had raymond on my original island but reset it lol. I knew he was liked but didn't know it was obsessive like 😂
i didn't see the shark, the simple details is that if you sell, lets say a stack of gold nuggets for 100k, they will eventually converse you into under selling for 50k, they also love finding people who under sell products for their prices, they are sharks, they bite as soon as possible and want to get more than what they payed for.
The “I forgot” scammer
Once I was trying to trade a villager off my island, and the scammer came,
I was telling them to drop everything first before I’d let them in, and they said ok. They went into the villager’s house and went they came out they said they forgot to bring the money. And then I realized it was a scam! So I immediately put my switch to sleep, which restarted everything, and they didn’t get that villager off :0
once on nookazon, this person said thy would be avalible to trade tomorrow. they kept saying this for like 3 days, they cancled my offer.
5:42 And thats why I insist of dropping parallel.
i place a barrier around the area where they come in so they cant ruin anything
also when i trade we drop at the same time
I got Raymond 100% for free, No nook mile tickets no nothing, All that happened was one of my old villagers Marcie moved out which I was fine with since she wasn’t really one of my favorites but in any case a few days later I see that Raymond just so happened to randomly move himself in- here’s the big kicker though I didn’t even really want him at the time- I just kinda kept him since I grew attached to him eventually and to make people jealous lol
Trust traders: they ALWAYS tell tou to go first. Then you give them ur items and they say they will give u the items. But when u do, they leave
4:56 wouldn't a BLUE racecar bed be better for BLUEbear lol
One time this girl wanted to visit my island so I said alright and opened my island gate. Then she tricked me by buttering me up by pretending to be my friend. As Soon as I best friended her... she took all my flowers and completely destroyed my island. It hurts..
Oof. I told someone else this but as soon as I get a new switch and my island back I could definitely help you as I don’t play animal crossing that much anymore.
@@classy_cramorant9405 I would love to play with you. I'm gonna sub to your channel
@@Amelia_Daughter_Of_Rosalina Well I don’t release videos.
@@classy_cramorant9405 do you want my friend code
@@Amelia_Daughter_Of_Rosalina It’s gonna be like months before I get a new switch. So uhhhh I will remind myself when that happens.
the touch trade thing, and they art is totally real have happened to me multiple times :-)
Yeah that's why I don't do art or statue trades with people unless they have all 5 stars, no accusations of being a scammer and at least over 20 reviews from trading
With the new squeeze side walk you can combat the you go first very easily
The "Gold scammer." Could be one I don't know
a contine of the villager betrayer but after they dm u acting like they didnt know what happend and say that they promise once the villager is i boxed they will give it to u....then ghost u..forever
Yeah, pretty sure I've come across a "butter up" scammer. They seemed pretty chill so I bestfriended them, and then they immediately started cutting down my bamboo trees.
So anyway. Don't bestfriend people the first time you trade with them, I guess. Lesson learned.
about the color one have them place the item down and dont do it in the plaza or else they have an exuse and can scam you
I try to give extra then some times they wanna friend me but I do not shovel their island 🏝
So many people get scammed but I've done over 400 trades and haven't run in to any yet. Hope it stays that way
My worst experience on nookazon there was this guy who placed an offer on something then not even 5 mins later canceled it saying that I'm unresponsive then made the offer for the same amount right afterwards. And I have like 700 reviews all good sooo
I should have just canceled the trade with him being so rude but I didn't because of the offer. When he finally arrived he only dropped 10nmt when he offered 40. I asked where the other 30 was and he said that he wasn't going to give it to me because I was being so rude to him. Which I wasn't I was being like super nice even though he was making me really mad. I just kicked him off my island after that.
IDK if anyone else has experienced this but it was just all very frustrating
idk what to call this but the scammer that says you didnt bring something they didnt request
