As someone that is colorblind and trades on nookazon a lot, I can tell you I feel terrible when I give someone the wrong color of something. I always try my best to get the right one, but I'll still slip up sometimes.
I feel your pain it happens to me quite a lot so I had to put a thing specifically saying “ I am colourblind so if your item is the wrong colour please let me know “ doesn’t really help though I still get plenty of reviews complaining cause people never seem to read the thing TwT”
I just made my first nookazon trade yesterday, Judy was moving off my island and someone offered a million bells, then they said it was for a friend but they were the one paying so they both had to come over, I thought it was sketch but went along with it, turns out they were being completely honest, then they said they thought I might be a scammer because I didn't have any reviews but no I am just a nookazon newbie lol
Yay! I’m so glad your first trade went well!!! I was worried people would think I was a scammer too when I first started so I actually began selling somethings for free to build up my reviews before engaging in full blown trading.
It's so awkward going to someones island with another person, I had wanted to surprise my boyfriend with Diana and I brought him along to the Island so he can get her and I can pay and it was just so awkward!! I understand it looks so sketchy I kept apologizing and making sure the seller was comfortable with it
@@BubblesOnRecRoom yeah I understand. In this case, communication is key. It’s very important to send a message to the person you’re trading with to let them know eqxctly what’s going on.
I have a casino. Unfortunately there is a way to always win. Good thing I only do it with my friends for fun. (They don’t know how to win every time, so i give pretty large prizes when they do)
Having had the fake non-English (or the language used to make the deal) scam happen to me, it's even funnier when they try to use a language you actually know.
@@Babushka_Katie same, if I don't understand what someone is saying I put it through translate, although it is quite frustrating when they say long sentences since it takes longer to type out
I remember accidently giving someone the wrong color den desk giving them a black one instead of a brown one. I immediately began to panic and contacted the person. I CANT GO DOWN WITH A BAD REVIEW! Thankfully they were cool about it and I gave them a refund.
My hypothesis on the time-wasters is that they are mostly kids or youngins that don't really have full control over their phone/computer and switch. I've had a few times when my trade had to be cancelled due to them being unresponsive or just plain unreliable to the point of frustration. I understand the demographic of this game is for the general but I think it is good to have an age restriction/confirmation to have a Nookazon account to spare some of us from all this extra hassle.
@@msleatha3078 because you’re suppose to learn from your parents not some random fucker on the internet. Pretty sure that logic is how kids get kidnapped and assaulted. Your parents and the adults your parents let watch you are responsible for you. No one else.
They are not exactly scammers, but I get nervous about people who are kinda rude, you know they don't talk to you, run into your island without asking first and leave suddenly by the "-" button. I want to believe that maybe, they're kids. Idk.
No matter their age, they still need to learn some manners. At least say hi or you aren't allowed back, especially if something is missing. I forgot to add: unless I say just do whatever. Doing the greeting emotion or something is good too.
I once gave someone permission to pick my gold roses because “whatever they grow back” and they went through and picked every flower on my island. I had so many hybrids some of which I had for sale. So now I just cage people in and don’t let the explore
@@thornprick2645 yes that’s why I said I’m glad the pipes exist. You can put fences around theme and the area you want to trade in so the visitors can only stay in the area you put the pipes down. So If you have a yard sale the visitors can’t explore your island.
In a future update, they should add Copper and Booker who when you speak to them, will give you a list of past people who have been to your island and past islands you have visited and you can then report them for doing bad things. Thinking about this now, there'd be now way to prove they scammed you so it actually wouldn't work, would it.
There should be a report thread. There IS a button on the switch that can record the last 30 seconds, submitting that in the thread with a report could work
I remember my first time using Nookazon, and being a newbie on the game itself. I got an offer for a statue but I didn't know you can't grab displayed items online and she couldn't get the item. I got so scared that she might have thought I was a scammer, but she was super nice and patient, I told her to leave and come back again to get the item and I apologized a lot, but she told me it was fine and didn't leave a bad review or anything like that. It's nice that between all those scammers and rude people, genuinely nice people are there, too. :)
I’ve only been scammed once. It’s where they put Muffy for adoption saying she’s ungifted but when I got her she has an ugly instant muscle suit hanging on her wall 😭
@@aliciagarciareinoso8320 gifted villagers were given gifts of furniture / clothes and will most likely carry them over to yours when they move potentially “ruining” their houses or wardrobe depending on what they got. Ungifted weren’t ! I think it only counts for displayable items. Fruit shouldn’t count??
Once I was trading on nookazon and I accepted an offer for some item (I don't remember what it was lol) they came over, we chatted for a bit and then left. 10 minutes later they left a really long nookazon review completely in French. I don't speak french so I didn't know what it said until I put it into google translate. Luckily it was a good review but I was so confused afterwards XD
I traded somebody for a cute sofa, and after the trade they left me a review in complete Russian. They seemed like a good English speaker too, and you can tell when English is just translated into Russian. I was confused.
When I sell my amiibo card villagers, i never give set prices, I just let the buyer offer however much they want, then just take the most reasonable (and by reasonable I mean the highest 🌚) offer. But I never accept offers higher than 5 million bells bc then i feel guilty lmao
I’m sorta like that I don’t go for “extra high prices” I just go for the first offer that’s decent and around the normal amount that the villager is sold for
This is a great idea I have stitches amiibo card but he won’t really fit the theme of my island (but he is super cute and we have the same birthday 🥺) so I will keep him for a bit then sell him :)
In the Nookazon discord server, I just look up if anyone has recently posted that they were looking for the specific villager that I have moving out. Just recently had Baabara move out, so I found someone who had posted looking for her two days prior. She was one of their dreamies, and I was really happy that I could help them out!
honestly nookazon's overpriced tendencies has always bothered me. I've always tried to make my things affordable cuz I just. don't need that much money?? we're all just trying to make our islands look cute.
Not really a scammer, but there was this guy who I made a deal with. I said I’d be over shortly. While typing the dodo code in, he cancelled the offer and gave me a one star review. It was a five minute timeline between I accepted the deal and he cancelled :v Some people are really inpatient
I was trying to get a pot rack and offered 30,000 bells. I got no notification my offer had been accepted, and when I went to check Nookazon the seller had cancelled because I was unresponsive in the span of 10 minutes
@@tealleavitt182 FACTS OR YOU WAKE UP TO AN OFFER CLICK ON IT THEN SEE THE SECOND NOTIFICATION OF THEM CANCELLING TWO SECONDS LATER WITHOUT TELLING YOU WHY
@@tealleavitt182 I agree with this, people are just too impatient. They could just have another listing and wait for someone to offer while waiting for the person to come online eventually
Wrong color is possible by accident especially with things that the variants are close (think of floor lights in storage). Usually when selling stuff like this I’ll leave my gate and listing open until they can get back to their island to place and check it. When they say it’s correct then I close the listing.
Couldn’t you just place it yourself and they can confirm then you pick it back up and give it to them. Especially since I seen some people in the comments say there color blind so they can just let the person confirm it’s the right color.
I had so many trade offers declined bc I was offering too little ?? Even though I checked their wish lists and made sure the items have roughly the same worth. I really don't understand Nookazon
same thing happened to me the other day when I tried to buy the petal parasol, I offered them exactly what they asked for and they still declined my offer
I sell on there but before I did and had a mission to buy all pink items omg was it hard cause people would always say offer too low >.< I always offered 200k and 10-20 nmt . Its why I randomly have free item days or take people abunch of their wishlist items now
My favourite is when I offer the listing price and they delince because the offer is too low like...huh? Or when they get mad and leave angry reviews after I cancel bc I've been waiting a week with no response...it's nearly always grown adults too 😬
the reason prices are so high is because early on in the game there was a duplication glitch. everyone duped NMT to go to islands to find villagers, and then it turned into a currency online, afterwards it got more and more expensive and it takes quite a bit of effort to get enough miles to get one ticket (after completing most achievements) so the demand went up, and the price went up
There are still a lot of duplication glitches Nintendo hasn't patched yet, me and my friends use it to get a lot of those nook mile tickets and we usually have to keep them in a makeshift resident house
I found someone on nookazon who was getting rid of gabi but had to check on my grandpa. This was going to take about 5 hours but I wanted to her to at least know I was interested. So I put an offer in for 150 nmt tickets and told her the situation. I figured the 150 tickets would be enough to show her that I was serious and maybe make up for her having to wait. She was super sweet and patient and I ended up getting gabi!
I've only had this problem once when a girl took one of my cancer stars, I may have a bit of a organizing problem and I count EVERYTHING on my island. Everything has it's place and I always notice something different.
I have one to add: the child. This scammer will use the method used on the first one, but you’ll catch it by powering off your switch saving your bells/nmt. You’ll leave a bad review, and they will message you accusing you of being a lying cheating scammer then you get reported even though you didn’t do anything except trust the wrong person :) This is happened to me wayyyy to many times.
once I was trading a DIY for like 20,000 bells and they other person was just standing there without paying... And right before they ended the session I picked it up and got a bad review, but luckily nookazon helped me and banned them
Once I offered someone a deluxe washing machine (on their wishlist) for an item, but then I realized that I didn't have the deluxe washing machine catalogued, just the regular washing machine. I quickly messaged them and explained the mistake, and they said to come over anyways with the regular washing machine. I went to their island and they gave me the item I was trading for, and a bunch of wrapped presents containing other items from my wishlist ;-; They even left me a good review thanking me for my honesty
Helpful trip to deal with scammers! If you have the space for it: along with the 99K bells bring a bunch of 1000 bells. Instead of dropping the 99k bells drop the 1000 bells as it has the same appearance. Most scammers will force you out immediately after you drop the bells without checking the amount that's a good test of truth without costing you much.
Can't customise clothing to be the right colour! I had cases before where I wanted to buy a piece of clothing that simply wouldn't show up in my boutique, and I wanted to buy it off Nookazon, and the seller only dropped the wrong colour, which meant it didn't go with the outfit I wanted to use.
Same tbh but its also bc I never see notifications from Nookazon, and I forget to check often, so I just go "hey please message me on discord, i dont see notifs often"
3:00 The weird thing about that one is that it's actually legit. With a catch however... donate real life money to the *discord community* and you have free access to the island. It does ruin the fun though since you can just grab whatever you want. I remember stuffing my pockets with royal crowns Haha.😅
I've seen some people set up a little trading stand blocking off the entrance of the island. They use the stall decoration with fences on either side right at the end of the airport dock. That way you can still interact to trade within a cute little market stall but they can't get into your actual island. Thought it was a great idea...as long as you're not trading a full inventory worth of bells or something I suppose.
it would be better if they added an actually trade window options where you both see what is being traded exactly, like you walk up and like press A to a PC or use a trade request reaction to initiate, AND you both have to okay the trade before the swap happens. no need to drop bags/items and get booted I'm so worried about being scammed that I've avoided nookazon and similar
For the first scammer all you need to do to get your money back after the scam is to completely turn off your switch. It won’t mess your stuff up and you’ll have your money back. Worked for me when I had this scam happen to me with nook mile tickets!
Wow... I legit bought nmt and bells for 5$ ended up being way more than I needed, now I legit pay people 10 nmt to water my tiny garden. How can people go on scamming ppl in a game. Real world has enough of that
I kind of accidentally scammed someone once 😹 I made a golden axe for them but accidentally dropped my own axe instead of the golden one. I didn’t even notice until they messaged me about it. Thankfully they were understanding though and it worked out fine. They came back for their golden axe and gave mine back :’)
quick tip for if you get scammed by a classic scammer press the power button to put the switch to sleep as soon as they kick you, the internet disconnects and it undoes everything. you can keep your bells :)
Don't do us like that 😅 I understand very well what you mean but some of us are just starting. How can we build our portfolios this way 😭. I only have one 5 star review so far.
I was so scared of a scammer when I wanted to get more fruits but i actually met a really nice person and if anything I think they got confused cuz i kept offering stuff. They were like "can I get like 3 nook tickets" and me having a crap load of miles was like "heck yeah! wanna have 5 instead and stars and recipes and purple flowers too? I got them by accident and dont care Take THEEEEM" and then i gave em a tour of my island before touring theirs. It was a lotta fun (also it was my first time showing my island ever so I was overly excited just to meet anyone to play with)
I always get so anxious if I mess something up or I forget to check my notifications, cuz I don’t wanna be called the time waster, I also don’t want them to be mad or take back the item 😭😭😭
I used to be an unintentional time waster. I have over 200 good reviews on nookazon- but when I would play a lot I just had a newborn and a toddler. I remember planning out trades when my babies needs were met and then randomly someone would need something and I couldn’t reply. I remember someone getting very angry at me once blowing up my discord accusing me of a scammer. Even though my nookazon bio had it known I was a mother.
I used Nookazon for the first time this year to get some extra bells and I was so nervous to let a complete stranger onto my island...but they came, dropped off the bells, and left so I was relieved, I was afraid I was going to get ripped off 😅
A fun way to make sure people aren’t scamming you with an “in boxes” scam (having you give money for a villager and they leave) is to give them a hat or very specific clothing item and have them take a screenshot of themselves in the house with the clothing.
I remember one time I let someone i met from a dodo sharing steam come over to my island and she stole all my flowers the second i put the game down to get a drink.it turns out the reason she wanted to be my best friend was to blindly steal from my Island which made me upset because she not only took advantage of my kindness but all my flowers were gone but luckily my friends gave me some new flowers.
I’ll never forget one time I needed cardboard boxes and the recycling box was empty so I went to Nookazon and I saw someone sell one cardboard box for one million bells
same happened to me! Someone made an offer on my listing and was like "just printing out the nmt for you" but they never replied to any messages after that.. That is just super frustrating and annoying
thankfully it seems like Cyrus will be able to customize the items we can't customize ourselves so hopefully the wrong color thing won't be an issue anymore.
There was this dude on nookazon who had blossom petals for sale, I offered, they accepted and they gave me an extra item was a really small thing but made my day. We gave each other a 5 star review and that was it.
I did an auction earlier today for 10 NMTs and got a lot of bids, the one I thought would win was a 300k bid if I remember correctly and all of a sudden I get one for 90 MILLION and I'm like okay wow that's a lot. They win the auction obviously and I message them and I messaged them multiple times and warned them that if they didnt message me in 48 hours I'm reporting them and that (me giving them the benefit of the doubt and thought they made a typo, I have a couple times and explained to people and it was fine) we could work something out if they didnt mean to and I have yet to get a response. Needless to say I'm pissed and probably gonna report them. I have screenshots and everything
@@PlutoPupp Yeah and they gave me a 4 digit dodo code instead of a 5 digit and the code was 1111 and they said "I'm on way over now" like why would you give me a code and proceed to say you're on your way over? I reported them because I kept trying to get an actual answer out of this and I was up for changing the price and they gave me a 1 star review but cause i reported them the 1 star review didnt mess up my 90 5 star review record and I gave them a one star back and it actually changed their average 💀👀 they said in the review I threatened them but I was extremely civil and I just told them that if they dont give me an actual in game dodo code and stop trying to give me the run around I will report them for scamming and not following through with auction. That's literally all I said 😂
I panicked when reading the flowers one, because I once picked up some flowers next to the item I was actually meant to pick up, I droppes it back but to this day I'm ashamed I messed up ngl
I had one nookazon trade where I offered to craft a mushroom item (I forget the specific one) where they had to bring the required items. Well they stopped by and didn't have the items. They said they just started playing, but wanted them. In the end, I had materials so I just made it myself and gave it to them. It wasn't a scam at all, it was all fair. But I didn't really do crafting ones after that just in case it would happen again (I have severe social anxiety and a fear of people.) The person was very nice though and we followed each other. I did have this one person who was like clearly a kid! And they came to my island, trade went well, then they asked for some turnips (I had em out cause I have ADHD and need to remember by putting them out on my island) and they asked for some to give to their friend for their birthday. I said no and they were like "why not?" Well they toured my island and then at the end tried to give me the slip, grabbed one batch, and left. They then said that they hid them (even tho I saw them the entire time and they did not.) I left a poor review and then they tried to poorly review ME by making up even more than what happened. I got it all resolved, but it was just annoying. The worst was it was slightly triggering as A: I have severe OCD B: I have severe social anxiety and C: my brothers used to do that stuff to me a lot and it triggered some bad memories. That was about when I cut off from Nookazon. That you couldn't advocate for BLM or say ACAB in your profiles and they were pretty against BLM so I did not want to support them at all. r/nofeeAC is much better and I find other better experiences elsewhere. Ultimately I stopped trading due to the severe anxiety I have and how it takes a toll on me, but I give away stuff for free (duplicate DIYs and recipes, some items I have, villager posters, if I ever get spare villager photos then those too) occasionally. People give me gifts ranging from a few bells to 100 nook miles tickets to some golden nuggets. I never ask for it, they just give it to me and it makes me feel so happy. People can be so nice on ACNH :) those NMT helped me with villager hunting on my new island!
I traded with a person who spoke French yesterday. I just used google translate the entire time lol. The person was really nice and after looking around my island and seeing I was at the beginning, they even brought over some more things! Honestly one of the nicest people I’ve met
I think one my least favorite scammers are the ones who act SUPER nice to you. My friend ALMOST got scammed one time, trying to get a villager in boxes. But however when she reaches the island the scammer there acts all nice towards her, and stuff like that. But then she kindly asks if she can put her bells down first and then she would show her the villager. But my friend looked at her map and...the villager wasn’t even there. She asked why and the scammer immediately left the game. She almost got scammed but she luckily got herself out of it!
tl;dr, dock diving theif broke the pure trust i had for the community and now my entire island is fenced off... i had gotten really into nookazon months ago, but i had a scammer that made me just quit animal crossing for a while.. I set up a boxed in shop right in front of my airport, and I had a random item listed that i was giving away for free cause i didnt need it and wondered if someone else might. i made the mistake of doing multiple trades at once, while listening to music.....big mistake.. i couldnt even hear the splash.... it took me some time to realize- they never left! i started to feel uneasy, then, i SEE THAT LITTLE THIEF RUNNING IN THE DISTANCE BEHIND MY HOUSE. made my stomach twist, half from shock, cause the community had been so overwhelmingly possitive until then, but also.. because i knew i had left out a crap ton of gifts on my beach i was planning to give the a friend. rare and expensive stuff they really wanted, and they were already REALLY looking forward to getting.. I shut down the session right away, thankfully the other person i was trying to trade with was so understanding... but that other player... had swapped into a wetsuit... jumped off the airport docks... and stole as much as they could from my friends gift pile.... NINTENDO? HELLO? WHY CAN PEOPLE JUMP OFF THE DOCKS? like what?!?! at the very least, they should only let friends do that... what a joke... anyway i quit animal crossing after that until now cause uUHHhh... new update.... ;w;
Oh yikes... I didn't see this one here, but something happened to me recently that left a really bad taste in my mouth: someone made a listing for 3 of the same item and i made an offer based on that quantity. Then the seller accepted it, and changed the trade to only one item ( I didn't even know we could do that?) and only traded 1 item with me. When i went back to verify if i misread the trade (i open everything in different tabs), the tab of the listing was still saying "3 items" and the tab of the trade said "1 item". The history said that they accepted the trade, then cancelled and accepted again. The result is that i overpaid for 1 item and stood there confused. i felt i couldn't even complain about it, bc I'd probably be told that "WELL the listing said 1 item, didn't it? :)" so. yeah, I'm thinking i might've been scammed there
I feel really bad because one time I went to someones items who was crafting star items with materials required. I asked for moon instead of moon chair because I was nervous and only noticed when I placed it. I have literally never felt worse because I gave them the wrong about of materials.
Dude, those discord server people are all from the Nookemon Network server. The admins are rude and will ban you for no reason, as well as the giveaway runners scam the hell out of you every time they run big giveaways. The treasure islands cost $10-$20 as well. 😂
i was looking for a treasure island and i found one of those on nookazon. it was my first time but it was actually free and genuine. also it wasent "1000 GIOVEAWAYS A DAY!!!!!! WIN BIG!!!" it was just like a advertizment. we also did the trade tho
During the George Floyd protests last year the mods would leave up racist posts and then delete the posts telling those people to not be racist because of “politics”.
Didn't run into any myself, but I also quit using Nookazon because I would do trades for exactly the items they wanted plus some more and they started rejecting them. It was like they wanted a Legendary pokemon for a pidgey.
2 weeks ago I got subtle scammed, the trade went smooth then they picked up my flowers and pumpkins, shaked my trees, and even took some dropped items I had while I was closing my gates. Ever since that situation I've put fences around where I trade (basically the front) to still have a nookazon trader come in but wont roam around my WHOLE island taking stuff.
Tbh, that's why I always expect them to give me the item first before I ever cough with any bells or items I want to give them afterwards and make sure the trade's on my Island. I remember one person trading with me told me that they end up getting scammed not that many trades ago and that somebody skunked them out of a 70,000 Bells. My word of advice is to always be weary and make sure you give them a little bit of bells first, ask for the item, and when they give it to you, give em the rest. This is just to make sure the trade is not fishy and if you end up getting skunked out of any item, at least it won't be as hefty of an amount as if you would a full trade imo. It sucks people do this but unfortunately that's the internet and people in general.
I'm not sure how time wasting is scamming, nothing was taken. It's just inconvenient Also, like you mentioned, over-charging is kinda a culture on NZ. Look if I have something in-demand I'm gonna capitalize on it. Island renovation ain't cheap especially when you need items to trade for other items and need bells to buy the expensive crap on NZ in the first place. It's a self-perpetuating cycle. Does it suck sometimes? Yeah. But I can't ever fault someone for knowing their item's worth. It's hard out here in these AC streets. Word.
Thank you for saying this. This video didn’t take into account how many hours of time traveling it took me to collect those seasonal diys, items, or materials so others don’t have to do any of that work themselves. A big reason people charge so much is because of demand and time spent acquiring it in the first place. Seasonal diys will always be priced higher just before and during that season. Not to mention the profit a person can make for selling those crafted items. Popular/new items will cost mote for the same reason. I ask for offers of nmt or wishlist items. I will always take the highest one or the one that has the item I value most in trade. If I spent 10hrs time traveling to find extra glow in the dark stickers, the trade needs to be worth 10hrs of my time.
@@MiyaMam948 So long as you don’t set a price, then you’re just accepting the best offer. The buyers are the ones hiking it up because that is what having that item is worth to them. Another way I make bells/nmt is cataloging. I put in the work of collecting every 2.0 furniture set. You pay me to catalog them all and order them for yourself. 500,000 bells is a good price for the ability to do that. If you don’t want to pay, then keep grinding away and find items organically. Do your own time traveling. “I don’t want to ruin my island by time traveling’ is something I hear often. I have a 5 star island and I time travel a lot. It isn’t going to ruin everything. Those weeds and overgrown flowers are just more bells in your pocket.
My very first trade.. I accidentally gave someone the wrong color washer… it was green and they wanted blue. It looked blue in the moonlight so that’s what I listed it as. The person was very understanding and I offered to give them their bells back, but they said no. I still feel bad and it’s been over a year now.. That’s the day I learned to double check the color via Nook Shopping.
I had someone scam me I wanna say it was on accident cause they left a great review since I still crafted it anyways with my materials. I was essentially crafting any recipes I had free if folks bought their own materials, accepting any tips or lack there of anyone had to share, It was actually really positive overall but I had someone show up with none of the stuff wanting something kinda rare that lucked out I happened to have cherry blossoms to spare. Think it was a misunderstanding and not a scam, but yeah...
for the wrong colour one it’s great that you can customise it and if u can’t do it normally u can get Cyrus to do it in the new update. I’m just saying Nintendo did a good job on that
Idk how people could scam in AC. The closest I’ve ever gotten was grabbing a bunch of fruit off of trees on a island tour thing and when I got to the entrance I felt terrible and dropped all of the fruit.
I’ve only used Nookazon a few times for when I’ve found high priced villagers on hunts so I’m not super familiar with scams. I was selling Raymond and someone offered like 400 more tickets than what I had asked for. I figured it had to have been some sort of scam so I sold him to the person that offered the amount I had asked for. Curious if this is something people do to scam others or not.
Big oof.. people can offer more on nookazon, it's not a store, it's a bargaining website. I mean you have a right to only take what you asked for, but you really screwed yourself out of someone who probably REALLY wanted him and was just trying to be nice..
@@fredericksaxton9782 well obviously but someone offering that much more than what I asked for seemed pretty sketchy to me. it’s not like there was a lack of raymond’s for sale on nookazon, they could get him from someone else.
8:45 I did some simple math, the price for 25 nook mile tickets is 250.000. Since each nook mile ticket is worth 10.000 bells, multiply by 25 you get 250.000. What world do we live in that makes us pay 1.already500.000 bells for 25 nook mile tickets. Don't trust over chargers, I guess that was pretty obvious already.
Once I was offering a ironwood drawer with materials required for free and the person showed up with the wrong type of wood and not enough iron nuggets so I got some of mine for them, crafted the drawer and before giving it to them I told them to not do that again because it was really rude. After picking up the drawer the proceeded to shake my money tree (which was there just for decoration) and I kicked them out of the island. On the nookazon chat I asked wtf was that and they replied “I needed the bells” AHHHHHHHHH
I’ve not been scammed but had to tell a newbie that no one will buy 15 iron for 8 NMTs. I was polite and they were polite too so it was a nice positive interaction 😊
I just started using Nookazon, haven't been scammed yet but I'm dreading it. The last person I traded with came to my island wearing a black devil outfit!, I was like "oh shit", but it worked out.
Idk if this is a scam but I once had to pay 40,000 bells to a girl with a touch trade item(dolly) and it turns out that item's actual price is 4,000 bells in the catalog. Felt upset after that :/
I’ve never come across a scammer on Nookazon, but I always wait until they have the thought bubble before I start dropping items, or I wait for them to drop before I drop.
Common sense helps. Check the reviews of that person. Close your island so they can't walk all over the place. If you visit be ready to hit the power button. It will disconnect you without saving. You usually are fine by following basic rules.
Nookazon might have a translation feature in the chat. This would explain how I'm able to chat with people from Russia or Japan no problem but don't understand a thing they're saying in-game
People who overcharge are the worst!!! I always give extra gifts from people's wish lists because I remember how hard it was in the beginning to get anything from people without clearing your inventory!
Please do me a favor: just ask someone if the item color was a mix-up. Having been sent a very detailed murder threat by one person because I gave them the wrong color of a customizable item, I promise you I will give you the right color if you ask... and I can also promise you that I'll tell the mods if you threatened to rip me apart with a broken beer bottle and eat my lungs, and the mods will not give a crap if I gave you a blue iron bench instead of a green one, they have a very low tolerance for this kind of thing.
How to prevent them from getting away with it while they are in your island and trying to leave or trying to kick you out from theirs before trading their part: press the power button on the top of your switch it interrupts the connection and if it's been less than 5 minutes won't save whatever happened. You will either be back in your island with your items or have your guest sent forcibly back without the items they stile from you .
Honestly common sense will protect you from all scammer. Look at the reviews of the person and watch out for suspicious behavior. Immediately kick the person if something happens. If you visit him disconnect from the internet so the game can't save. Again common sense
2:31 Best tip is to swallow your pride and fence a small area off near the entrance and put a shelf in front of the little fenced off walkway. That way, they can’t go anywhere else in your island! It can be a little tedious but trust me, it’s worth it
I had a scammer come to my island and stole dozens and dozens of start fragments, large star fragments, and zodiac fragments and disappear. Didn’t realize they had done it until later in
did i miss any types of scammers? reply to let me know!

Hi
Overpriced touch trades
Love your videos! ❤️
U forgot the SUS scammer 😦
As someone that is colorblind and trades on nookazon a lot, I can tell you I feel terrible when I give someone the wrong color of something. I always try my best to get the right one, but I'll still slip up sometimes.
OOF that must be painful
I always have to have my fiancé confirm colors for me, its a nuisance tbh 😅
@Tyler Phillips It sadly doesn't have a colorblind feature but you get so use to it at some point it doesn't bother some 😊
This is why i dont care about colour. An item is an item to me
I feel your pain it happens to me quite a lot so I had to put a thing specifically saying “ I am colourblind so if your item is the wrong colour please let me know “ doesn’t really help though I still get plenty of reviews complaining cause people never seem to read the thing TwT”

I understand the demographic of this game is for the general but I think it is good to have an age restriction/confirmation to have a Nookazon account to spare some of us from all this extra hassle.
tbh I feel like nookazon just takes long in general- It takes like 30+ minutes for a rug on nookazon 💀
Kids probably if not already put their age older than they are. So I don’t think this would work
@@nickoffscript yeah but to be fair most people dont want to wait especially when the offer was just made
yeah that feels unfair and ageist.
Doing the greeting emotion or something is good too.
a good amount of them r prob kids, but there's likely also adults there too. rude either way, tho
Eh, some people are probably just really socially awkward. I do that a lot, but I do type a little "hi" into the chat
I once gave someone permission to pick my gold roses because “whatever they grow back” and they went through and picked every flower on my island. I had so many hybrids some of which I had for sale. So now I just cage people in and don’t let the explore

@@AMBER-uo8ny ohhh I get it thanks!!!
Omg this EXACT thing happened with someone I was trading with. I just left and came back so they could drop the item :)
I’ve only been scammed once. It’s where they put Muffy for adoption saying she’s ungifted but when I got her she has an ugly instant muscle suit hanging on her wall 😭

Bilingual type beat lmao that’s happened to me too
Ah ive had a few of these but mostly it’s people who don’t speak English well and are using translate to type
Same.
It was a five minute timeline between I accepted the deal and he cancelled :v
Some people are really inpatient
I was trying to get a pot rack and offered 30,000 bells. I got no notification my offer had been accepted, and when I went to check Nookazon the seller had cancelled because I was unresponsive in the span of 10 minutes

Especially since I seen some people in the comments say there color blind so they can just let the person confirm it’s the right color.

same thing happened to me the other day when I tried to buy the petal parasol, I offered them exactly what they asked for and they still declined my offer
lol same I offered 80k for 3 orange hyacinths and they declined bc it was too low like honey no it's not.
Or when they get mad and leave angry reviews after I cancel bc I've been waiting a week with no response...it's nearly always grown adults too 😬
the reason prices are so high is because early on in the game there was a duplication glitch. everyone duped NMT to go to islands to find villagers, and then it turned into a currency online, afterwards it got more and more expensive and it takes quite a bit of effort to get enough miles to get one ticket (after completing most achievements) so the demand went up, and the price went up
genuine question but what are you supposed to do when you’ve completed all nook mile achievements? nook miles+ ones barely give you anything
@@avaaa_m02 you're done, you can buy tickets online or the items online but things like recipes and apps you'll just have to grind hard for

That's happened to me as well, they took heart crystals then denied it when i kNEW they were gone lol
I like to decorate with these as well but get worried about them being stolen
I have one to add: the child.
This scammer will use the method used on the first one, but you’ll catch it by powering off your switch saving your bells/nmt. You’ll leave a bad review, and they will message you accusing you of being a lying cheating scammer then you get reported even though you didn’t do anything except trust the wrong person :)
This is happened to me wayyyy to many times.
wah wah, i tried to scam this person except they blocked my scam, but they are the bad guys, ban them now with no explanation nesseceary
once I was trading a DIY for like 20,000 bells and they other person was just standing there without paying...
I went to their island and they gave me the item I was trading for, and a bunch of wrapped presents containing other items from my wishlist ;-; They even left me a good review thanking me for my honesty
aw that's so sweet 🥺
Aww!
Smart idea
the wrong colour scam won't be a problem after the 2.0 update, since you'll be able to customize those special items with reese and cyrus
I used Nookazon during my school year but I was always burnt out and tired from the offers so I think some people might think I'm the time waster 😖

Same here.
I dont play Animal crossing but I can't believe people scam others in a wholesome game like this.
It could be the same 12 year old playing Call of Duty that's trading you right now. You never know.
3:00 The weird thing about that one is that it's actually legit. With a catch however... donate real life money to the *discord community* and you have free access to the island. It does ruin the fun though since you can just grab whatever you want. I remember stuffing my pockets with royal crowns Haha.😅
Today I was able to snag 800 nmt in an hour that's the equivelant of 4 Raymond's on nookazon
Wait, but isn't it illegal to charge real life money for items per nintendo's rules?
Thank GOD we can customize more items at Reese and Cyrus's van in harv's island. I know it wasn't a thing before but now we can do it.
"i used my sister's island to scam myself"
That's just beautiful
I've seen some people set up a little trading stand blocking off the entrance of the island. They use the stall decoration with fences on either side right at the end of the airport dock. That way you can still interact to trade within a cute little market stall but they can't get into your actual island. Thought it was a great idea...as long as you're not trading a full inventory worth of bells or something I suppose.
it would be better if they added an actually trade window options where you both see what is being traded exactly, like you walk up and like press A to a PC or use a trade request reaction to initiate, AND you both have to okay the trade before the swap happens. no need to drop bags/items and get booted
I'm so worried about being scammed that I've avoided nookazon and similar
That’s a good idea and safe
For the first scammer all you need to do to get your money back after the scam is to completely turn off your switch. It won’t mess your stuff up and you’ll have your money back. Worked for me when I had this scam happen to me with nook mile tickets!
I just dont trust it when they give something in a gift bag. If anything i would try to check before they leave.

This is why I only trade with people with 5 star reviews on nookazon oof
Don't do us like that 😅
I understand very well what you mean but some of us are just starting.
It was a lotta fun (also it was my first time showing my island ever so I was overly excited just to meet anyone to play with)
If the item is catalogue-able, check your nook shopping app for the item you were trading (make sure it’s correct) for before they leave.
I always get so anxious if I mess something up or I forget to check my notifications, cuz I don’t wanna be called the time waster, I also don’t want them to be mad or take back the item 😭😭😭
As someone who buys/sells a lot of mystery grab bags, that one specifically speaks to me 😂 my biggest pet peeve.
I used Nookazon for the first time this year to get some extra bells and I was so nervous to let a complete stranger onto my island...but they came, dropped off the bells, and left so I was relieved, I was afraid I was going to get ripped off 😅
Its very nerve wracking lol.
A fun way to make sure people aren’t scamming you with an “in boxes” scam (having you give money for a villager and they leave) is to give them a hat or very specific clothing item and have them take a screenshot of themselves in the house with the clothing.
Thats a good idea
Imagine feeling the need to scam someone on animal crossing 🙄
I remember one time I let someone i met from a dodo sharing steam come over to my island and she stole all my flowers the second i put the game down to get a drink.it turns out the reason she wanted to be my best friend was to blindly steal from my Island which made me upset because she not only took advantage of my kindness but all my flowers were gone but luckily my friends gave me some new flowers.
I’ll never forget one time I needed cardboard boxes and the recycling box was empty so I went to Nookazon and I saw someone sell one cardboard box for one million bells
I remember one day I ordered butch and kept saying they weren’t home and I never heard from them again
same happened to me!

The mush items were literally so hard to get on nookazon BECAUSE they were overpriced.
She almost got scammed but she luckily got herself out of it!

i had gotten really into nookazon months ago, but i had a scammer that made me just quit animal crossing for a while.. I set up a boxed in shop right in front of my airport, and I had a random item listed that i was giving away for free cause i didnt need it and wondered if someone else might. i made the mistake of doing multiple trades at once, while listening to music.....big mistake.. i couldnt even hear the splash.... it took me some time to realize- they never left! i started to feel uneasy, then, i SEE THAT LITTLE THIEF RUNNING IN THE DISTANCE BEHIND MY HOUSE. made my stomach twist, half from shock, cause the community had been so overwhelmingly possitive until then, but also.. because i knew i had left out a crap ton of gifts on my beach i was planning to give the a friend. rare and expensive stuff they really wanted, and they were already REALLY looking forward to getting.. I shut down the session right away, thankfully the other person i was trying to trade with was so understanding... but that other player... had swapped into a wetsuit... jumped off the airport docks... and stole as much as they could from my friends gift pile.... NINTENDO? HELLO? WHY CAN PEOPLE JUMP OFF THE DOCKS? like what?!?! at the very least, they should only let friends do that... what a joke... anyway i quit animal crossing after that until now cause uUHHhh... new update.... ;w;

@@georgia3112 I remember that I believe, it was absolutely horrible. They kicked/banned anyone who said anything about it too. So sad
Didn't run into any myself, but I also quit using Nookazon because I would do trades for exactly the items they wanted plus some more and they started rejecting them.
It was like they wanted a Legendary pokemon for a pidgey.
Nothing could describe how much scammer type #2 happens, and it’s ALWAYS my gold and blue roses x)
The audacity of some people...
I alway put a fence up at my entrance when I invite strangers that I don’t trust, just to be safe. Sorry about your roses ☹️
this is off topic, but ur pfp gives me nostalgia
It gives me joy that the Tanaka Commodities theme is used for Nookazon. That's amazing!
I'm not sure how time wasting is scamming, nothing was taken. It's just inconvenient
Also, like you mentioned, over-charging is kinda a culture on NZ.
@@abagfullofcats4247 Preach! 🙌
I agree with enemy everything you said, get your NMTs and bells, Capitalist Queen
The “I’m poor and I need bells!”
Just no-
for the wrong colour one it’s great that you can customise it and if u can’t do it normally u can get Cyrus to do it in the new update. I’m just saying Nintendo did a good job on that
With the 2.0 update including Cyrus, I think the recolor problem will no longer be a problem
AC community is so fun, i wish i had money to buy the game, i love those videos, thanks for making them
Idk how people could scam in AC.
Nah, he just probably really wanted Raymond. Just dig a row of holes in front of a villager’s house next time they’re in boxes
Big oof.. people can offer more on nookazon, it's not a store, it's a bargaining website.
I’ve done between 70-80 trades on Nookazon, and at most I’ve probably encountered a time waster. I guess I’m super fortunate lol.
The nmt prices were due to how day 1-100 a nmt was worth 100k due to an duplication bug
You should do a part two and do the "Materials Required" scammer!
@@marili_patchuki THE AUDACITY
I’ve not been scammed but had to tell a newbie that no one will buy 15 iron for 8 NMTs. I was polite and they were polite too so it was a nice positive interaction 😊
I just started using Nookazon, haven't been scammed yet but I'm dreading it. The last person I traded with came to my island wearing a black devil outfit!, I was like "oh shit", but it worked out.
Reasons why when i trade or sell off Nookazon i block off my island AT ALL TIMES.
Idk if this is a scam but I once had to pay 40,000 bells to a girl with a touch trade item(dolly) and it turns out that item's actual price is 4,000 bells in the catalog. Felt upset after that :/
i had to pay 175k for a touch trade on s deluxe washer
@@eimear7584 now that is a for sure scam wth?!?! Sorry that happened 😵
@@detny5811 Ik I regret doing it now but I was desperate to get for a build
I’ve never come across a scammer on Nookazon, but I always wait until they have the thought bubble before I start dropping items, or I wait for them to drop before I drop.
Common sense helps. Check the reviews of that person. Close your island so they can't walk all over the place. If you visit be ready to hit the power button. It will disconnect you without saving. You usually are fine by following basic rules.
I UHM... I PAYED FOR THE TREASURE ISLAND
WITH IRL MONEY....
HELP-
The free ones are rare but they do exist! Mostly on discord and twitch.
"you have been completely and utterly finessed" made me laugh
I saw a over pricier 120 nmt for 12,000,000 bells though on eBay 2,400 was like $4
Nookazon might have a translation feature in the chat. This would explain how I'm able to chat with people from Russia or Japan no problem but don't understand a thing they're saying in-game
6:55 someone did that to me :(
People who overcharge are the worst!!!
It can be a little tedious but trust me, it’s worth it
Lol I literally got scammed twice a day before this vid came out😂
I had a scammer come to my island and stole dozens and dozens of start fragments, large star fragments, and zodiac fragments and disappear. Didn’t realize they had done it until later in
