Me and my 2 friends thought this would be a good idea to play with 0 knowledge of agriculture since it’s free on psn. So to cut the story short. As sombody that's driven 99% of these machines most of my working life is say these devs have got the machinics pretty spot on, a game I've always been interested in and taking a hiatus from battlefield it is a welcome change. Only 2 things I've issues with and in loading shovels the steering doesn't self center in real life and the 360 excavator is a mod but a bit clanky but a very welcome mod none the less as I've primarily driven 360s everyday for 15 years
I somehow bought all the Farming Simulators since 2011, because I always thought this was the year I was gonna get into it, but never did. Ironically, FS 2019 was free on Epic Game Store, so I grabbed it, and this time, it sticked with me! What did it is a combination of your awesome tutorials, and also the fact that the map No Man's Land was exactly what I was looking for! You start with nothing, you build everything, and create fields in the wilderness, growing more and more. This is a very rewarding experience!
Watched so much Fs 19 content and this is the first video that has told me i could sell the structures already on the farm :D Going to start a new farm with all these tips and get way ahead of my original farm in seconds haha.
FS has always fascinated me because it has so many systems in it and I'm kind of a simulator guy anyway. But it also intimidates me still because it is so complicated and detailed.
I'm posting here because vid is for beginners. Im a little past beginner now. Just wanted to add a little tip. As for grass. I dont use fields for grass. I have bought extra fields on both sides of original Felbrunn map. I deleted the field across street and turned into horse farm. With all the grass around the properties itself. I landscaped around bunches of trees with mostly woodchips. I used rock around the back of original field around cliff by street. And woodchips around the bunches of trees. So I've made it easier to cut around my properties. I use forage harvester to fill up my barn for horses. Then I wrap bail the remainder and sell to animal store. Using that green flatbed Lizard trailer it self loads. So drive by the bails they hop on. I dig your vids. In fact your the only one I subscribe to. Can't wait for 22!
i got this game free and didn’t really know anything about it but now i’m kind of hooked and i want to learn everything, your videos are a life saver dude 🤪 keep uploading
A quick tip to anyone starting. Play all the tutorials before you start a career. Itas really rudimentary, but it does give tou an idea how the controls work and a basic rundown on how to plant, grow, harvest and how to improve your crop yields. The main challenge you will encounter when you start your career after the tutorials is managing your money and making the best financial and operation streamlining decisions. That can only really be learned through trial and error. Dont invest right away into buying that fancy, expensive all in one potato harvester.
If you do more tutorials, can you have the tooltip HUD on? The menu in the corner that shows the controls. It would be really useful for players like me that get confused with the controls. Especially when you have two tools/machines on your tractor and cant remember the inputs. Great tutorial, thanks.
A big note before i forget and if he says this later in the video u can disregard this. When u are in the shop many items have a puzzle piece at the bottom. This is very important when it comes to harvesters and the headers for them. The puzzle piece tells u what equipment can be combined with. There are some different combinations u can do with some smaller equipments but especially when it comes to harvesters and headers u should use the piece that is recomended. Any regular harvester can pick up any size of header but u will find that the speed will be slowed alot if u pick a header that is to big. It may not even be able to drive up a shallow hill if used with a big header. The 2nd reson why u dont wanna use a bigger header is that the pipe on the harvester used to empty the harvested crop into a nearby trailer is made just long enough so a tractor can drive alongside the harvester as it is being empty without hitting the header. If u use a to big header the pipe will not be long enough and it will be impossable for u to drive a tractor alongside the harvester and u would be forced to reverse a trailer under the pipe making the whole thing harder. Some trailers with it´s own dolly can be VERY tricky to reverse with in the beginning. Pro tip. If u wanna park 1 of those trailers then connect it to the front end of your tractor instead. It is alot easier to get the trailer to go where u want to that way.
who else got this game for free on playstation for shits and giggles and now play it everyday and is trying to understand it so you look up a youtube video to understand how the game works
Thank you so much I just got the game and I didn’t know what tools I need to harvest and after you made this video I know what tools I need thank you so much!
I’m getting the hang of it, I merged 2 fields & made 1 big field with the Plow. Expanded the other larger field. Focusing just on soybean. Make it simple and make as much money as possible. I sold a lot of gear & im leasing the large green harvester, bought a fully upgraded JCB medium tractor. I’ll need another tractor soon to help with work load. Expanding the fleet.
Hi Arthur! Your videos are so helpful, thank you for making them 😊 I am new to FarmSim19 and am absolutely loving it! Looked around for some useful vids to help me figure things out but yours are just so well explained. Just wanted to say thank you 😊 Happy gaming!
I just got this game and downloading it and I really needed this to get started, and being a city boy here in San Diego I don't know shit about farming/farming equipment lmao😂 thanks so much for this my bro!!
Okay first off very good tutorial I understood everything perfectly. I am just getting into this simulator and I feel confident in starting now. Thanks
Hey Arthur. I’ve really enjoyed your videos and they’ve been really helpful to guiding me through the game. I’ve followed your advice on selecting starting equipment and I’ve noticed how much easier getting your farm off the ground becomes. However, now that I’ve bought some more fields and my equipment is always in use, I’m finding myself asking “how do I continue the expansion”. Is there a chance you could make a “what next” part of the tutorials?
Just got game due to seeing most my friends on it for some time. Im on my second RL day playing. And I can tell you the silo, atleast on base game will fill and auto stop that small trailer. So I'm assuming it will know what size trailer you have and stop it at that point. The little green wagon holds 8000. Great video.
I played FS15 and have just purchased FS19 from Steam. Thank you so so much for explaining the equipment. I know a bit about farming generally since I grew up in rural southern Alberta and my Dad worked for the provincial dept of Agriculture. Secondly I only use the keyboard and mouse so I did not understand the information about the controller that you use.
I play on ps4 and have lots of questions. When should you start working with animal husbandry? I keep going with certain map and I drop it as I don't "feel" it. To make good money you need huge field for wheat or corn and if you find big enough, the field is not level enough its usually on a hill or going down. Plus then there is not enough free flat space for house and placeables.
Nice video thanks for the upload i even picked up a few new hints I've subscribed and look forward to more you do a great job on explaining how the game works very easy to understand and follow and again thanks for the info
Arthur, you have explained some areas I wasn't sure about but !! I was on a contract and I hit a key on my keyboard and I was sent into my pickup truck back at my farm! How can I switch back to the harvester I was working in??? There must be a key comb for this???
I want to learn this game so bad. I tried going in blind with no farming knowledge and on the hard mode where you have very little money and no land or equipment bc I usually like a challenge and figuring out things, but oh man lol.. I bought a bunch of stuff that I couldn't even use yet and just failed. Even listening to the start of your video about tractors is well beyond my manly knowledge and made me feel like I should be playing with Barbie dolls instead. I will learn though bc it just seems so relaxing and satisfying to learn and play.
there are "open pasture" mods on the PC version for all animals. They are available in the mod hub, so yes there. You could fertilize with just manure and slurry to avoid chemicals. You could also weed using a pull behind mechanical weeder to avoid spraying chemical weed killer, so organic farming is somewhat possible
Hey Arthur, brand new to the Farming Sim series, just got it from psn. I was just wondering If there's a beginner's checklist before I jump into career mode and fail. I would very much appreciate it. Also, love your videos man!
Tatras are not Russian trucks.Far from it.They are Czech trucks.Today Tatras are using DAF cabins, but the chassis uses a so called "Tatra conception" which was proven to be one of the best solutions for offroad vehicles. Most manufacturers, both Russian,or American, are using the Tatra Conception.Unforunately, Tatra doesnt get enough recogniction even though its the 3rd oldest vehicle manufacturer in the world, as Czech Republic is a very small country.
Would it be wise for me to sell all of my tractors and harvester when I start a new game? I've played this for a few days and I'm confident enough that I would like to reapply what I learned on a fresh save. Selling my three tractors and harvester so I can buy one better medium tractor and one better harvester seems wise but I'm not 100% sure.
@@Bawtysquid16940 Vs leasing? Yeah, I was able to buy a premium heavy tractor andn a premium medium tractor. This only matters if you're trying to not use loans. It's way easier to start off on the farm manager and just get a loan to buy everything you need.
is it okay to use the same type of fertilizer when you are taking two stage of fertilization? for instance: I will use solid fertilizer for first stage and the to the second stage of growing or is it I must use two different type of fertilizer like solid in the first stage and liquid in the second stage.
From the game standpoint, yes. If you are trying to play it "like real life" then no. But the game will allow you to do it, and it does count. The game does some silly stuff, like you can put down lime on growing plants, and manure. Doing both in real life would kill the crops. They have to be put down before crops are planted in real life.
Sorry about that - its for FS17 but still relevant to 19 ruclips.net/video/rY9RRY3BSDU/видео.html - also the how to feed your cows guide for FS 19 covers all of the same material here - ruclips.net/video/AXrzEW6KZ24/видео.html - last but not least - my field care video is here - ruclips.net/video/0g-AfKYhJyY/видео.html
Hey Arthur, I consider myself a seasoned player on Farming Simulator, but I do belive you do not need to plough a field after harvesting Soybean or Sunflower. The game has never asked me to plough again after harvesting them crops. Still a good video, just learning the history and what the equipment do in real life. Looking forward to the next video
So are these expensive machines that can do multiple things realistic or are they just gamey mechanics to help reduce the amount of times you have to drive over a field with different equipment? No knowledge of agriculture.
100 percent real - I had the exact same question when I started playing these games (back in FS15). There are some mod machines out there that aren't real, but the machines in game are all (except lizard brand stuff) real item made by real companies. Pretty cool stuff eh?
@@kingarthursims yeah, that is cool. Some really clever technology they've managed to bring into a system nearly as old as man. And the size of some of these machines, too. Great feats of modern engineering.
Hi, I’m new to the game and I have a couple questions. After you harvest the field what are the next steps? Do I plow the field, then cultivate it, then plant seed, then fertilize the crops? And also what are the differences between seeders and planters?
Mods allow you to expand the game (maps especially). They don't usually add anything new, but can fill gaps - like there aren't a lot of mid size harvesters in the base game, but there are many mid sized harvester mods to pick from.
My gf bought me this game and I've been stuck trying to understand the tutorial for 2 days and now I can actually start playing the game. If you haven't explained the logging in a video yet please do I'd like to learn everything about this game.
I need to do some testing with the logging - when the game first came out it was a mess (like worse than FS17) so we bypassed it. Maybe its been updated since then.
When needing to plow after harvest..... you first said corn, taters, sugar beets, sugar cane...... then you said corn, taters, SOY BEANS, and sugar cane.... can you confirm which is correct? I planted soybeans last night, wondering if i now need to buy a plow... thank you
Great videos. I bought FS 17 a while ago, found it too confusing to get into. Then I found your videos, and have been exploring for the last few days. So - will buy FS 19 now! I like that fertilizer/herbicide/lime mod, the blue container. What's it called. so I can find it in the mod shop? Thx
Ok, so its called the replenishment container. Its a mod in your modhub. If your on PC you can also look it up in on the mod pages at www.farming-simulator.com. Once you have installed the mod and added it to your map (dang, I Need to make a tutorial lol) it will be in the shop under Miscellaneous, along with the vehicle shop and tractor washer.
@@kingarthursims Thx - found it, Installed it before restarting saved game, found it under Placeables/Miscellaneous, then dropped it to a nice spot on the farm.
Hi friend, Got this for PS4, took a little time to understand with your help. Just one thing if you could help me with plowing and fertilizing the crop, without destroying it. Specially plowing(weed) from crop, did fertilizing by hiring. Thanks
You cannot plow crops - that will kill them - For fertilizing and weeding, use a sprayer - spray herbicide for weeds. BE SURE TO USE CARE WHEELS or you WILL destroy your crops. Smaller tractors (some mediums and most small tractors) can fit care wheels.
I ended up just starting an entirely new game. Took me a little while to figure out the fertilizer trailer I bought takes the solid fertilizer, not the liquid version. That and I also burned through money on shit I didn't need -3-
So I started playing this tonight as PS4 it’s free, I have a harvester which is full of wheat I have also a tractor with trailer (trailer has a cover over the top)when approaching the harvester as the hose thing has already come out as I hired a worker to harvest the wheat, but it’s not releasing the wheat into the trailer please help because I have tried everything! Your video was awesome thank you - Em from UK
If you go to the header, in the shop menu, you will see a puzzle piece symbol - next to this will be listed the harvester models that the header is compatible with like "Niva 330" or "MF1420". Hope that helps!
stand next to the pressure washer and press down the left joystick - that will activate it. Then press a to spray it. for the tool box, make sure to park in the marked off area and then press the left joystick to activate the repair screen.
Hi I am new to the game. in my game in new farmer it says corn is about 950 and canola is around 1300. Just wondering why would anyone plant corn when the prices are so much higher for canola plus you need a special header to harvest it? just curious thanks
Its all about volume - You get way more corn from an Acre than you do canola, so they end up being really close in actual sales price. For example - 1 acre gives us 1000 corn and 600 canola, so no matter what you still only make 900 bucks off of either. Hope that makes sense :)
@@kingarthursims makes a lot more sense now thx! Also can I use any header for a harvester or if I want a bigger header do I also need to get a bigger harvester? I currently have the default for new farmer mode.
Wait, you actually have to buy seeds?? I just thought they were just magically 'there' in the seeder! I literally haven't brought any seeds at all in my game yet but I've been planting Canola for the last 2 days straight. Where have those seeds been coming from? Is that costing me loads of money? My farm is staring to run at a loss (Although I assumed that's because I've leased loads of equipment that is constantly being used) (yes, I am another "It Was Free on Playstation Plus Noob" lol)
Best to buy seeds at the shop and then transport them home. Or you could get the replenish trailer mod and buy them from that. Its cheaper than letting the workers buy them - like literally 1/2 the cost.
@@kingarthursims Thanks for the reply. I have started buying seeds from the shop now, and turned off the 'worker refill' options. Thanks to another of your videos I also discovered the small flatbed trailer which has been really helpful for moving them around. Now all I need to do is figure out how to transport huge amounts of fertilizer and herbicide lol. I have downloaded a mod for a proper truck flatbed trailer, but filling that thing up manually with a forklift is very time consuming!
How do you load the header onto the trailer is there a correct way round to approaching the trailer I tried both sides without success. I just subscribed thx for the beginners tips.
You need to have it attached to the harvester first, then approach the trailer from the side and detach the header. It should automatically attach to the trailer.
It gets messy for sure - Michael is right, you just have to keep trying until you get it right. The Claas pack is nice because the Claas headers auto snap onto the trailers once you couple to the trailer.

Kieran Straughton I have no clue what the fuck I’m doing. The boys are trying to go wild in it though.
There is a mod that allows more people in the trucks - not sure if its PC only

Ah, but the payoff is good. Its a huge game with tons of different ways of doing things and a huge mod community to make it that much better.
@@kingarthursims yea thanks for the guide helped a ton.
There is a LOT to it - watch through the Tutorials - they will help you get started.
Can we simulate organic farming? What about cattle? Can you let them out to pasture?
there are "open pasture" mods on the PC version for all animals.
PS+ Gang where you at?
Not here.
@@agentcodydanks I didn't reply to you
just started 17, how do i get front loaders for my front loader capable tractors. I only see a couple vehicle specific ones in the store?
Tatras are not Russian trucks.Far from it.They are Czech trucks.Today Tatras are using DAF cabins, but the chassis uses a so called "Tatra conception" which was proven to be one of the best solutions for offroad vehicles. Most manufacturers, both Russian,or American, are using the Tatra Conception.Unforunately, Tatra doesnt get enough recogniction even though its the 3rd oldest vehicle manufacturer in the world, as Czech Republic is a very small country.
Tatra is stronk - I love seeing them in the Dakkar Rally. Such a cool truck!
Upgrade the tractors instead of buying new tractors its only around 45k and 250hp is enough for small-medium fields
True that - New tractors come when you have to go to larger equipment.
this is a good video but the ASMR is beautiful
lol - my dogs ate my mic filter
Would it be wise for me to sell all of my tractors and harvester when I start a new game? I've played this for a few days and I'm confident enough that I would like to reapply what I learned on a fresh save. Selling my three tractors and harvester so I can buy one better medium tractor and one better harvester seems wise but I'm not 100% sure.
send it
@@hondasociety7950 I actually watched some more of your videos. Told me everything I wanted to know. Thanks.
Did you end up buying new ?
@@Bawtysquid16940 Vs leasing? Yeah, I was able to buy a premium heavy tractor andn a premium medium tractor. This only matters if you're trying to not use loans. It's way easier to start off on the farm manager and just get a loan to buy everything you need.
Nope ! Yeah I made a new save on farming manger and it is way easier to get top tier equipment
thank you so much very informative i would have deleted this game if not for your videos thank you again
Glad to hear it and you are welcome!
is it okay to use the same type of fertilizer when you are taking two stage of fertilization?
for instance: I will use solid fertilizer for first stage and the to the second stage of growing or is it I must use two different type of fertilizer like solid in the first stage and liquid in the second stage.
@@kingarthursims Okay noted! Thanks for the tip!
Great video, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Where is video mentioned at @22:10
Sorry about that - its for FS17 but still relevant to 19 ruclips.net/video/rY9RRY3BSDU/видео.html - also the how to feed your cows guide for FS 19 covers all of the same material here - ruclips.net/video/AXrzEW6KZ24/видео.html - last but not least - my field care video is here - ruclips.net/video/0g-AfKYhJyY/видео.html
@@kingarthursims that's awesome bud thanks ! 👌🏻
Did I say soybean? Oops - Yeah, definitely not after soybean - I think you do after sunflowers though.
@@kingarthursims not even sunflower. Just corn... I'm 99% sure on that. I'll check for you and let you know bud
I've got just the video for you - ruclips.net/video/0g-AfKYhJyY/видео.html
Do you find it easier using a controller vs mouse and keyboard?
Yes - I use an xbox controller 99 percent of the time.
How do you have your camera that far from tractor
Hey bud. On the first map there is an area with a junky metal fence and old junk. Is there a way to clear this stuff up? Thanks
I don't believe so - there is an editor out there, but its a real pain to use.
@@kingarthursims ty
And do you need those additions for anything special?
Mods allow you to expand the game (maps especially). They don't usually add anything new, but can fill gaps - like there aren't a lot of mid size harvesters in the base game, but there are many mid sized harvester mods to pick from.
I have a field with corn, does anyone know if theres a way to plow and plant corn at the same time? thanks!
You are a great help Thanks
Glad to hear that!
Hello , i have the 2015..... is good idea change for this? Thanks!
yes - VERY many improvements between 15 and 19.
@@kingarthursims Thanks!
Do you have to plow the fields after a cotton harvest?
Nope - Corn, Sunflower, Potato, and Sugar Beets require plowing.
I just Purchase this game!
When needing to plow after harvest..... you first said corn, taters, sugar beets, sugar cane...... then you said corn, taters, SOY BEANS, and sugar cane.... can you confirm which is correct? I planted soybeans last night, wondering if i now need to buy a plow... thank you
Not Soy Beans - Corn, Taters, Sugar Beets, sugar cane.
Aloha Arthur. I am unable to hire a worker and the seeder is not seeding. i have tried two different tractors. What could I be doing wrong?
did you cultivate the field first? Lets try that - be sure to watch the next video in this series. I have tips on growing crops.
Just about every field in Kentucky always has the semis sitting on the field
When I want to get into FS again, I watch Arthur Chapman haha
Hehe - glad to hear it.
Hi friend,
Got this for PS4, took a little time to understand with your help.
That and I also burned through money on shit I didn't need -3-
Hopefully this is helping!
Are all mods in such the same if you don't have the premium in the Platinum Edition I have the base Edition that has none of them does that matter
The mod hub has the same mods in all versions - The Platinum edition is a DLC that adds Claas equipment to the game.
Great Job!!! as always Art....
Please make a lot of these I’m trying to learn a lot!
if it helps here is my playlist - ruclips.net/p/PLHOIp7_VO933rgcNllE8w8brxqACMVSZh
What is the best controller to use?
xbox 360 controllers work perfectly and are preset so I recommend those.
Uncover the trailer?
What controller do you use for the game?
Xbox One controller, just regular. I bought a bluetooth dongle and connect using that, instead of wired.
I really like your explanation.
Glad it was helpful!
How do you know if your harvester has enough power for a bigger header? There is not a horse power label on the header menu. Love the videos!
If you go to the header, in the shop menu, you will see a puzzle piece symbol - next to this will be listed the harvester models that the header is compatible with like "Niva 330" or "MF1420". Hope that helps!
Can anyone tell me how to get in the tractor ? On ps4
Square
Anyone down to play ?
Dude play the tutorial.
Suddenly all the Welshmen were paying attention 22:26
Oh Behave lol
How can I use my pressure washer and tool box I have tried for a month and no luck.
stand next to the pressure washer and press down the left joystick - that will activate it.
Hey great vid mate keep it up just got it and didn't understand what the hell I was doing 😂😂
Glad I could help
Wait, you actually have to buy seeds?? I just thought they were just magically 'there' in the seeder! I literally haven't brought any seeds at all in my game yet but I've been planting Canola for the last 2 days straight. Where have those seeds been coming from? Is that costing me loads of money? My farm is staring to run at a loss (Although I assumed that's because I've leased loads of equipment that is constantly being used)
(yes, I am another "It Was Free on Playstation Plus Noob" lol)
