  • This is the story of how I found out I got colon / rectal cancer at age 36. Kinda weird talking about your bum on RUclips, butt here goes.
Btw, I'm creating these videos to provide some insights into the cancer treatment journey, especially for young adults who may have been recently diagnosed. If that's you, let me know if there is anything you'd like me to cover in future videos.

I hope everything goes well for you with the colonoscopy and your journey throughout this. 2 years ago I had my colonoscopy and 6 weeks ago had an ilonoscopy.
Like your husband, my cancer spread to my liver and have just found out I’ll be on chemo for the rest of my many years. A kick in the guts.
I wish you strength to the both of you, put in one hell of a fight 👍🇦🇺

@@claudianeymour63 thank you 🙏 update- I have went thru 6 rounds of chemo and 5 1/2 weeks of radiation. Just had surgery Dec 27 to remove the mass tumor. They sent me home after 7 days but something didn’t feel right so I went back to the hospital, the stitches didn’t hold and I spent the next 6 weeks in the hospital with a mini vac up my rectum, yes it was painful. I’m home now recovering ❤️‍🩹

Joel thank you for sharing your story, you’re very brave! I hope you’re doing better now and beat this thing! I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon cancer five and a half years ago and am considered cured at this point! When I was diagnosed it had already metastasized to my liver. Had surgeries, and 18 months worth of chemo and radiation here I am years later. I too did not fit the typical profile, I was very active, plant based diet, intermittent fasting, exercised no family history but I got it anyway. That’s why colonoscopies are so important at younger than typical ages. Here I am a survivor years later from advanced stage colon cancer, no bag, a partially brand new liver and a new outlook on life. You started talking about having to tell your mom which was very sad because I too had to tell my mom and it is so emotional. If I can beat this others can beat it as well! I will say though at the same time as the colon cancer I also had Non Hodgkin’s Splenic Marginal Zone lymphoma which is also Stage 4 and this type of lymphoma is incurable, but it’s doable and I’ve lived with it for years with not even having to do treatment yet so I’m good. You just have to move forward and enjoy life as much as possible! I went back to school to become a medic and am a volunteer first responder so that I can help others! Good luck!!

Turn to Jesus He loves you very much, He is the God of miracles, i was ill for a long time, but the doctors couldn't really help me, i don't blame them there was only so much that they could of done for me, Then Jesus gave me a miracle and healed me, God has done amazing things in my life and in the life's of people i know and love, He can do the same for you and yours, When you need Him call on Him, The bible tells us in Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, He is the God of comfort and will be there for you when you call on Him, God saved someone i love from an illness leading to death, There is nothing impossible to God, Its as simple as accepting Jesus, and Trusting Him for your Salvation, He is the healer of the body and Saviour of our souls, And if you truly seek Him Jesus will answer you, i know this because He answered me when i called out to Him, Take care

@@jesussaves1827 Have you ever had cancer? Why do you assume I don’t rely on God and Jesus Christ in my life? I’m still here after an only 8 % chance of survival six years later living a full life. If you weren’t so busy preaching to people you might realize that someone could not go through such severe and usually fatal diseases without total faith and reliance on God through Jesus. Perhaps since we are in total agreement concerning the love and healing powers of God you should move along to other RUclips video comments because at this point you are preaching to the choir. Good day, and God bless.

I had the exact same cancer. I am struggling so hard with being able to leave my house. It’s been 6 months since my stomach reversal and I still can barely leave my house. I eat as clean as someone could eat and I still struggle with chronic constipation. I’m desperate for some help from others who went through rectal cancer. I do not have a rectum anymore.

Doing great! No signs of cancer but I am always having scans / colonoscopies. My next colonoscopy is scheduled for mid February (2021) and will provide an update after that.

My wife had stage III colon cancer also. She found it during a routine colonoscopy which is given after attaining age 50. There were no symptoms.
The cancer was resected and she followed up with six months of FOLFOX chemotherapy. It's been six years now and no evidence of cancer, so she is considered cured.
I hope your experience is successful as well.

I will pray for you Elliot. When we we pray we are telling the Lord what is on our mind and in our heart. When we read His word, the Bible, we are letting Him speak to us. It’s a package deal. The only way to have a healthy relationship is to let both parties speak. Do you have a Bible? I recommend an NIV (New International Version)
or the NKJV (NEW King James Version [written in today’s language]). Lord be with you. I will be praying.

Lucky for those who have money and or insurance to pay for treatments, many people fall through the cracks, i.e. not enough money to pay for insurance and too much money to qualify for any low income help.

I've had chronic abdominal pain & mucusy stools (sorry) for nearly 2 years. 2 years is quite long to go unexamined so I'm definitely worried. I have an appointment in several months. Part of me has a fear that it is cancer & it'll be too late to treat it. I know it's probably irrational but I'm not a very healthy person.

Mucus in stool is actually pretty normal. Lots of people have that. Much more likely it’s ibs or something of that nature
