    Hi, I'm the creator of the Crum Drum!
    Lovely to hear your thoughts on it! 🙂

      Hi. It's a great machine, love it. 👍🏻

      It sounds so good, gathered with a surprisingly wide in sonic scope. It truly deserves continuation, MIDI cc would take this a long way pared with an vst editor (memory etc) It is so good that I truly hope we see a mk2 revision with a stereo aux out and memory storage, midi in and volume pot for each Instrument! &try to keep the form factor ;) ..Congratulations it sounds amazing!!

      hi any plans for a eurorack version?

    • @AlbertNystrom
      @AlbertNystrom 9 месяцев назад

      @@earlsfield no, not currently. It has eurorack compatible Clock in and out though! So it won't fit in your rack, but it will be able to sync with it :)

      I tried to buy one but I guess I'm going to look for an app and make do with my drum brute. It has a random generator.

    Can I make a suggestion that I sincerely hope is seen as constructive (as it's intended)? Start with a demo. Open with something that tells us what it can sound like. Not everything it can do, that's the detail that comes later. But maybe 15s of the "best" thing you get out of it to get us hooked.
    Thanks for the video, I've not heard of this kit before, and I'm looking forward to learning about it from you.

      Hi.
      Funnily enough, I was going to start with a demo as I've seen pros do this, but decided against it. I will definitely try this on my next review though 👍🏻
      Thanks for the advice.

    I love this thing. Hopefully they’ll still be a available in a few months. I just have zero time to build and play with it now with a newborn human…

    Bummed that I missed the first batch. But really looking forward to having this one. I prefer random beats and super simple UIs. So, this little thing is perfect. Gonna sync it up with a DFAM and go to beat heaven!

      I prefer random beats too, which makes for more interesting music. Sounds like a winner with the DFAM.

    Can I output this to a regular DJ kit like TRAKTOR KONTROL S2. That is probably a stupid question but I am new to this world

      The only way to know is to try it, if not this is great to use as a standalone drum machine 👌🏻

    I wish that one day every video trying to introduce the sonic capabilities of a sound device will be in Line Out quality and not a "Room Recording of a loudspeaker in a room". It makes the device no justice

    • @SaturdayMusicMachines
      @SaturdayMusicMachines  11 месяцев назад

      Is that a compliment or a criticism?

    • @SaturdayMusicMachines
      @SaturdayMusicMachines  11 месяцев назад

      I use an audio interface to capture the sound from a synth albeit a cheap one, but I'm still learning the trade so to speak. I used to record from a speaker about 2 years ago (see my earlier vids for a comparison). 👍🏻

    • @saardean4481
      @saardean4481 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@SaturdayMusicMachines So this is how the Crum Drum sounds recorded into an interface?
      As to the second part of your answer.
      Ain't nothing wrong with learning and progressing. You are doing it right. God knows how much I have to learn.
      Let`s stay healthy above all first

    • @SaturdayMusicMachines
      @SaturdayMusicMachines  11 месяцев назад

      Yes, this is how it sounds. It may sound a bit tinny due to the reverb perhaps!?

    • @saardean4481
      @saardean4481 11 месяцев назад

      @@SaturdayMusicMachines Ah you are sending it through a Reverb! That explains a lot! I am so used to reverberated sounds that I felt it but did not think of or better did not even realize I am hearing reverb as I don't know the device at all.
      Yes it is highly likely cause of this.
      Reverbs smear transients completely and make it sound washed out in a way. There are some reverbs like Crystaline from Baby Audio that have a Ducking function thus letting the Wet signal go through first. But in general I personally use very short reverb decay times when I use them on drums unless I decide to go for a sound design thing. Also you can play with the Dry/Wet function of the Reverb in order to bring back some Dry signal and on most modern reverbs you can Eq the wet signal. This way you can reduce the reverb tail on the lows (otherwise most times it will kill the low end) and highs and get a clearer image. For this it would be easier to look up "abbey road reverb trick" and similar.
      Also the voice over is a bit loud in ration to the actual synth recording, at least for my taste.
      The way it is now, if I crank up the volume to listen more closely to the device , when the voice comes in I have to turn it down again and it also highlights the hiss of the recording. I suppose the hiss comes from your voice recording. Either you had the gain too low or the mic has too much hiss.
