When I got my cupra I emptied out the oil and it nearly filled the same thing you used here. Lucky he didn't do damage tbh. Runs absolutely fine now for over 10k, had a few changes since then but all in all zero expensive costs. Brought my cupra for £360 of a pissed up guy on a Friday night at about 11pm. Want cheap boost in the uk...get a 1.8t, road tax and petrol is the main cost.
andrew wright bro you got an insane deal on that cupra not bad at all! I used to have the 180 it was my first ever 'fast' car and I loved it at the time. I like to change my oil every 5k miles and check regularly if it needs topping up between changes.
Redline Revs I did didn't I. Not the best looking version being the pre facelift but it still has the 1.8t in it. Yes I check pretty much every other day oil and water. I got the old school chain type oil filter removal tool myself which I don't recommend anyone to buy.
Trust VW to block the oil filter with a hard boost pipe. Only got one little side mount intercooler on my Ibiza. Your LCR is sounding wicked though man :)
Yeah the 1.9tdi has oil filter at the top which is admittedly easier but the 1.8t one isn't so bad you got to get underneath to do the sump plug anyways. Thanks for that, sounds happy and healthy at the moment!
lovemedub yeah it's a bit annoying the TDI engines have the oil filter on top easily accessible through engine bay but 1.8t has it lower closer to sump pan and oil pump. Thanks for commenting!
I like the added touch at the end...everyone in the street is in their house going "sounds like a successful oil change" lol Do you still reccomend quantum to date?
I was gunan do this but I only had access to ramps and the car was too low haha Bought my own oil and gave the garage £20 to do it wasn’t really worth getting dirty for £20 haha
Sizeable Bush yeah what is possible is dependent on the clearance you can get under the car but in this case we just used the jack that was in the boot and some axel stands. Nothing more satisfying than doing your own service I think, and you gain valuable XP. But yeah sometimes you don't have time that's when the decent garages like yours come in handy. Thanks for commenting and for all your support over the years 'Bush.
Very very true as my bro always say it takes him nearly all day to do dirty jobs like this and then he always regrets doing so when he hears I get the same thing done twice as fast for £20 lol
Hi mate, been watching your videos for a while! Getting another years no claims bonus in sept.. wondering what mpg do you get on motorway? Only ask as i work 27miles away about 23 of which is 70 A roads... currently deciding between the 225 or pd150..
Hi Ethan, well done for another years claim free driving! I did a video a while back when I used the LCR for commuting on mpg: ruclips.net/video/rx4t3DmcdCE/видео.html Whilst I think the fuel economy is great for the performance you get with the cupra R, the 150pd will cost you less than half the amount of fuel every week. Cupra R sounds better and has much more top end power, TDI is great with a remap for fast street driving and dirt cheap motorway miles. It's a tough choice and I can see an argument for either case. It was a bit sad wracking up motorway miles on the Cupra R while I was using it for commuting, but on the weekends its more fun than the tdi.
Redline Revs its just one of them things where I wouldnt mind which! But coming from a petrol background, Im a young lad of loud exhausts! To me it takes an awful lot to get a diesel to sound "sporty" I think a drive in a pd150 remapped/slightly modified pd150 is needed to make up my mind! Cause i know from some quick research the pd150 can reach 250hp.. and over nearly 500nm... but if it comes to the a massive difference in smiles per gallon... ill have to go with my heart!
ethan crawford I had on my 150pd egr off 2.5 inch decat turboback and stage 1 remap never sounded special but was great for what it is. Cupra R does cost more to run but is more fun and if you want the sound it's got to be the R.
Redline Revs im used to getting 30mpg on my current 1.2 corsa, my old c20xe got 20ish before it mets its end with a toyota landcruiser and bush! Thanks for the advice lad! Ill.have to let you know which one i end up with!
As long as its not excessive its normal. If you drive the car hard the oil will smell a like petrol. My previous cars all had smelly oil on changes, none of them had any issue. Recently had an oil change on my 1.8t and it smelled the same, so i wouldn't worry about it UNLESS its excessive and you can actually see the oil change colour. ..
rotormasher mobile 1 is of course one of the best branded oils money can buy, but it's too expensive and in my view not worth extra over the very good vw oil.

they could of put the filter in a better place on the 1.8ts to help with the mess, all good fun tho, prime and fill sounds like my x lol

The longitudinals are even worse
I don't have this oil in my country, do you think castrol magnetic 5w40 fully synthetic is also a good option?
Perfectly fine. Just has to be 5w40 c3.
Is the measurement from the max level on the dipstick to minimum level 500ml? Thought it was 1 litre

Why ACEA C3 oil?
Is this the same oil used in the 1.6 economic seat leon 2009 petrol?
You'll be fine using this or any good vw spec 5w30.
@@RedlineRevs hello spec 503.01 oil 5w30 0w30 0w40
Thanks
I love the mobile1 stuff on mine...

I hate the oil filter placement on these engines..m
