Something that I do on top of etching my tape is using an eraser. I found this when experimenting with different materials, trying to find something that adds more friction. I got this idea from how skaters use wax to take away friction from bars so they can grind them.
The double layer electrical tape and the etching really helps, big improvement over just using one layer of electrical tape.
Imagine being this much of a sweat...

Holy crap, this is amazing! I was doubtful at first, but I was able to double my long drag CPS by just doing the scratching step with the razor because I don't have scotch tape. It nonetheless works super duper well and I'm so glad I tried this out. Not only does it increase my CPS, but it feels more comfortable and consistent. Thank you so much!! Definitely recommend this.

Wow first time to see someone do a full tutorial about drag clicking :)
I just got a Glorious model D and i was having trouble drag clicking on it so i looked at a lot of homemade drag clicking tapes and this one by far was the best one, it had AMAZING friction when i drag on it and it really helps my big hand hold on to the mouse. 1 quick tip is to put Masking tape instead of Scotch tape, it may not look pretty but it give you great friction and grip. 4.7 stars.

A Tip I Just Learned: You Can Use Paper Sticky Labels To Use It As A OP Drag Click Tape (Just Paste it On The LMB/RMB and Cut it so it will Fit On your Mouse :D

It works all you need to do is wet them a little and dry them and drag click you can wipe the water on it to just a little bit

When ever I use tape all the stickyness wears off in the first 20 min of using it

My stickiness wares off in 5 seconds.. literally
try using a hand towel of some sort and gently rub it on the tape or your fingers. Also, if your hands seem to be oily, washing your hands / rinsing them can make it easier
