When I became a Home Fry .... I knew a lot about the gentlemen - First ensemble (Chris still there) and since - Chance - also a great triple threat register phenom ! And you would think can't be better than that Bass voice ... well THEN HE GOES OFF THE CHART in Baritone, Tenor and runs, slides, falsetto etc ... and you think Whoah !!!! Just the best Bass / Baritone / Tenor !!! jj
@@matthewdockray9745 yeah, I heard something like transition, but was too fast and sounds like chest, but I can be wrong, I just can't hear the false vocal cords vibrating. Argue about that It's a little pointless (I don't wanna mean offensive), he can hit a G#1 in chest (as he did in "Do You Hear What I Hear"), but I do like to argue XD
Emanuel R. de Sousa to be honest I’ve always been a bit sceptical of the G#1s in do you hear. A lot of people say they’re chest, but they seem highly bass boosted and I feel like they’re way too powerful to be chest notes. I’m not sure, but the one at 0:16 in this video is definitely growled. Choosing to use growl or chest is usually down to how comfortable it is to sing in either register and down to the type of desired sound to use in the song
thanks a lot! funny you say that, after some comments saying that too i labelled it as chest in my recent bass battles and several people said it was growl... XD
@@TM-pf1kp xD But I'm 99,9% sure it was chest don'tworry... A clean slide chest to growl is just not possible or it's not clean. So it's chest trust me...
@@t.j.p.8183 actually now that i've listened more often and tried myself, i think a clean transition is possible and you can hear the transition so i believe it's growl

Geoff Castelluci said he hadn't heard a bass growl before Tim.
Cool video! Tim actually said that the A0 in Sold is Adam Chance's throat singing.
I still think he growled an A0 in think a little less tho
If you listen closely you can hear A0 by Adam and also A1 by Tim :D (in sold)
not throat bass, it's lip buzz.
Tim never said which Adam, I think it Adam Rupp doing it in post production
@@t.j.p.8183: inward bass: E1
Nice! In live, he often growls higher than G♯1, and his highest recorded growl note is B1 in The Butts Remix (live) as far as I know!
do you have the name or link for the video?

@@hayatropical thanks!
@@hayatropical that’s chest
I like the growl background A0 in the end in "A think a little less"
Yeah the A0s aren’t A0, but other than that, nice compilation
Also I don’t think the 2:07 clip is a growl, I think it’s just reverb from Adam’s kick
Matthew Dockray think a little less in genuine A0
@@josephstanfields3510 it's 100% A1
Matthew Dockray I meant the song think a little less😂
@@josephstanfields3510 me too. It's A1

Good God, the man's a tuba! 😁
im still so glad that schlatt joined home free
0:16 i can't hear the false vocal cords, I think it's chest, he is very good in transitions, maybe it is, maybe not.
yeah I was confused about that one too
You can hear him stop and transition just before the G#. Easier to hear on 0.5x speed

but why didnt u inclued think a little less A0?
don't know, included it in the updated version, though
Because it wasn't an A0
