I would like to extend that not speaking Portuguese is a significant barrier to obtaining appropriate treatment within the health care system of Portugal. I am moderately fluent in Portuguese and have found it challenging to navigate through the systems of healthcare here. One should be prepared with at least 6 months of medications, especially if you have chronic health problems in need of frequent monitoring.

Just a quick point for your viewers based on my experience: In rural Central Portugal, knowing basic Portoguese and having a car are vital. Without these you will be paralized. There is virtually no public transport to speak of. No Uber and like and the chance of people over 40 be able to speak English is negligible.
