Valen Dreugh I remember Mickey Mouse had a 90's look, when I was child. Today I would consider Spongebob as Mickey's new competitor, but Spongebob has a long way to go in order to be as iconic a Mickey. Lets just hope Nickelodeon won't screw the Spongebob franchise and just try and cash in the character as much as possible.
@@CMA7._.Mickey Mouse: oh boy good grief we had all the success with marvel and star wars what if we did a doll line based on The Simpsons member Maggie Simpson she would be in clothes like fashion!
I remember this character and I love the cartoons he starred in. My favorite disney movie with Mickey is Fantasia. But my favorite cartoons of Mickey's are Thru The Mirror, The Pointer, Symphony Hour, Lonesome Ghosts, Hawaiian Holiday and Mr. Mouse takes a trip.
That's the thing about Walt Disney. He was always thinking ahead in ways that many of the much bigger and much more poweful producers often weren't. He was the only significant producer in Hollywood who wasn't panicking about television in the early 1950s.
I still think Disney should bring back the old cartoons and make new ones just like the old ones with a twist, with the half brothers, Oswald and Mickey, starring in them maybe together? I would absolutely love to see that, because to be honest if Walt saw those 2 cartoons, I'm sure he would start crying tears of happiness. But anyways the cartoons and shows Disney has now sucks. I hate it, I hate the new old comedy cartoons where Mickey Donald Minnie goofy look like their all from the junkyard or something. At least make it like Walt did, I say they should bring back house of mouse, the channel toon Disney, with all the old and new cartoons airing 24/7. (My thoughts) thumbs up if you agree!
Mortimer was initially Walt's name for Mickey, but wife Lillian decided for him, because she hated the name of Mortimer, so Walt chose Mickey to make his wife happy. Also, Mickey is not just a mascot/figurehead, he carries in him the spirit of Walt, because as Jimmy MacDonald told Wayne Allwine, "Remember, you're just filling in for the boss". And, since Epic Mickey confirms Oswald as Mickey's older brother, if Mickey is Walt, Oswald would be Roy (Sr.), and Minnie & Otensia would be their wives.
I think that "Get a Horse", the short released alongside Frozen, may be the theatrical film they were referring to. Maybe, but, who knows? The future is open to a lot of interpretation.
There was a whole plan in mind to create a full-feature length film about him in a movie called 'Where is Mickey Mouse?' or something like that. I think it was in made to celebrate an anniversary or something. But the jist of the film is that Mickey went missing and the main gang hire Basil the Mouse from the Great Mouse Detective to track him down and along the way they went through a variety of other Disney films. It was canned for some reason, I don't know whether I simply can't remember why or if they released no further information on it. But, yeah, that was the plan in mind and I'm quite bummed that they cancelled it. It sounded awesome.
ok I will aways ALWAYS love Mickey but if your going to use something that Mickey hosts PLEASE I BEG YOU DON'T USE Mickey's Club House! The House of Mouse is and will always be a 100 million billion catrillion zillion times better! And I'm going to say that they have a lot of this right but some they got wrong and didn't even mention! Like Mickey was going to be taller and named Mortarmer Mouse but Walt's Wife, Lily, said no Mickey sounds better. Also Oswald has come home in Epic Mickey and is like is little brother (yes you can call them brothers) in a lot of ways but is sadly forgotten by lots of people due to his absence from the screen for a 100 years or so. ~A huge ass Disney Fan who's only watching this to see what they say.
I think it's a bit unfair to say that Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is unworthy of recognition, you might not have younger siblings but let me tell you something, young kids, they love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and they're growing up with Mickey and his friends because of it. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is important because it's helping keep Mickey beloved just like House of Mouse did for many of us.
Starry September fine thats true. But I wish they had them growing up with him like we did he was more awesome back then. He and his friends didn't go running to a little round Mickey head shaped device for help. No they went kid friendly bad ass on the person they were up against and beat them.
Disney is more careful with their star mascots than you think. There's actually been some new Mickey Mouse Shorts that came out starting from 2013. It has a more modern taste in humor, but all the characters appear like they did in the mid to late 1930s. They're not very long, but hilarious regardless.
Incidentally, just as Wayne Allwine and his wife Russi Taylor would come to voice the mice couple from the 80s until Allwine's 2009 passing, Walt voiced both Mickey and Minnie originally, yet per the comic books and interviews with the remaining Disney family, Mickey and Minnie weren't just the focal stars and figurehead mascots, they were--in effect--the alter-egos of "Uncle" Walt & his wife Lillian, hence why all subsequent Mickey voice actors are said to just be "filling in for the boss".

Would it be weird if I said that Disney should go back to hand drawn animation? It makes more sense for a 20s character.
+314rft Looks waaaaaaay better
The 30s colored Mickey is so cute!
+314rft I think all animation fans agree that hand drawn animation is objectively the best medium.
Trust me, you aren't the only one who thinks that haha. I'd be down to do some type of petition like Roy E. did with his Save Disney campaigns.
Well when you hand draw you usually can grasp more details and are less likely to make mistakes.

probably a dumb pointless question but i think he should have kept the tail? after all he is a mouse.. anyone else?
I do remember him with a tail in Mickey Mouse clubhouse, so I guess it was brought back?
They brought it back. :)
Strange... he still has a tail on Kingdom Hearts.
Yeah looks like they removed it in early 90's then brought it back to distinguish that he was a mouse lol
