Hey bud, my pops owns a 2013 Ram R/T in mint condition with only 32,000 miles on it. He needs to sell it and was wondering if you might know of anyone interested? Let me know sir.
@@brandonhill5268 i sure don't, post it on some of the ram forums
30mins install. Whole day making the video. Good job! I need to do this for my 2016Ram
Glad it helped
That fan works really good. Its currently 111 degrees here in Hermosillo Mexico and my Ram is totally fine.
Awesome
I would’ve never guessed the V6 fan was bigger or better for pulling air through out the whole radiator... but once again.. thanks for all the part numbers and information about it 😉
Me either man but thanks for watching 👍
It's only that way because the e-fan on the Hemi is just a helper fan. The primary fan on the Hemi is the clutch fan
The radiators on both are likely the exact same. The radiator on the Oshkosh M-ATV is actually from a Ram 3500 diesel. I believe the inner-cooler was too but couldn't get it confirmed. There is also a small span of VIN's of Ford Taurus that have F-150 fuel pumps. It's crazy what they reuse, re-purpose and recycle for different vehicles to avoid engineering costs. lol
I wonder if you can run this with the clutch fan if there's enough room?
@@larrybarbaree2091I have the same question
I just got this fan for my 2013 4.7L! I don’t really care about MPG gains, but the slight performance increase is what’s keeping me going. And much better cooling from the V6 fan!
Where you from how hot does it get? I did this and my truck got hot going up hill on 110 weather
@@faustodiaz2121 Im in california, gets really hot here and it hit 110-115 this summer.
Do you have your A/C on? That needs to be on if you’re un-tuned so the fan turns on.
@@TheSavage3.6 yes I had my a/c on, I'm not tune, I did read about being tune when you do this efan swap but like I said, in hwy speeds and going up hill, it got hot, this was driving towards San Diego, also being @ 90° weather it was still getting hot and Temps wouldn't go down until I got to a rest area, rest for a 1hr started driving again and all of a sudden Temps where back to 203°
What year was the truck you got the fan from

I did this swap last night. Had an issue with breaking the fan nut free, so I cut the fan off with a sawzall/metal blade. Then I used a 36 millimeter socket on an air wrench to remove the nut. Worked like a charm. One of the projections on the new fan was against the radiator hose, so I cut it down a tad with the sawzall. That way there is no concern of the plastic wearing a hole in the radiator hose. You can see what I'm referring to at 15:10 on this video.
I did a e fan swap on the rango too I was surprised how well it has performed amazin how well a V-6 ram fan works
For sure it definitely pushes more cfm for sure 👍
what did you have to do to make it work on the rango need to do mine
@@tonka459 used a test light to find positive grounds etc wired it directly and zip ties to hold her in place till I was able to make some alum. Brackets
I would highly recommend using the Hemi 5.7 electric fan motor on the V6 shroud and fan blade, Dorman is one of the few assemblies that swap over to that motor, by doing so no wiring modifications are needed. I tried it with a TYCO and the OEM motor wouldn't fit the TYCO blade, different size shaft. The hose should be trimmed about 1.5" to 2" at the thermostat housing so the shroud won't wear a hole thru the hose.
Nice information 👍

I definitely did this mod as I live in Florida and it definitely helped with my cooling im currently running at a constant 190 and when the T-stat opens i then run at 180 to 187. My oil temperature has dropped by 10 degrees as well..👍👍
Did you have to tune it?
@@elvaquero3030 yes I had to reset the cooling parameters on the computer as the factory settings are set to 204. My particular year which is 17 I had to get an unlocked PCM before I could do those settings.
@@stevelindell5044 What was the new temperature set to? I have an 2013.
@@elvaquero3030 I put a 180 thermostat in and programmed my temperature parameters on my PCM at 190 so my fan kicks on at that temperature. Since yours is a 13 I believe you do not have to buy an unlocked PCM like I did. All you should be able to do is plug in a tuner of your choice and reset the cooling parameters after you get an electric fan and replace the tstat. It will run so much cooler and also once you get rid of the mechanical fan its also less drag on the motor as well.
Heck yeah man, did mine back in March and here in Texas saw 110* weather, with a stock tstat truck would get up to 212 and cool off to 201
Glad I came across your Video. Did my install and can’t be happier. Improved the gas mileage so far not by a lot but something is better by removing the fan clutch and cools down way faster now. Plus my condenser fan on its way out so. Perfect timing to do the e-fan conversion.
Nice work!
If anyone sees this comment, please reply.Would be much help
Me im from Texas 115 soon will be common. I'm going to do the V6 fan, but also have a custom radiator made hopefully 3x thicker than stock. Also put 2 more fans on front of a/c condenser! Can't wait to get R done!
That would be cool
I did this about 8 months ago from mech fan out to v6 in was like 45-1hr. Just watch out there is another part number for i guess 2018 where the plug on the fan is round. Ask me how I found that out. HAHA. v6 fan+shutter delete+180 stat makes a good combo.
Awesome man it definitely helps out.
InYuco Katan good looking out ..👀
Hey guys will that trick work on like 4.7 1500 dodge ram 2005??
So this is a replacement for both fans that come from factory on a 4th gen ram
I was thinking about a dual fan set up for my redeye build into my rt
Wow, a mod I actually had done before you haha! I've got the same fan from Amazon, installed a few months ago, and no problems. Been plenty of high 90 degree weather and tons of humidity, my temps stay 185-188 with a 180 t-stat and Greene tune. Temp will creep up to 192-194 sitting in traffic, but hasn't hit 200. Hot lapping it may be a different story, but you may be better off with a 160 t-stat?
Good information 👍
Would keeping the stock e-fan and the factory clutch fan shroud not be a good alternative to swapping out the efan itself and dropping the factory shroud? I've been running this for some time and haven't had temperature issues. The fans also dont look that different IMO besides the shroud. Thoughts?
I was thinking the same thing haha, so you run the factory fan? And did you change the temp ranges with a tuner?
I have a 2020 classic body and want to still do this
I heard 2018 parts work so I’m guessing I should compare the wires first
Swapping to a e fan on my 2011 ram going with a 180stat

My 2017 Laramie has both electric and mechanical. I have already had to replace the electric and am concerned that if I don't have the mechanical fan how it would survive. It is a 4x4 and I am often deep in the woods.
How do you do the clutch fan conversion?
Always good content
Thanks TEAM FROSTBITE
Thanks man
Thanks for the video! I may have a faulty clutch on my fan and was looking to replace it when I came as your video. Now I am thinking of doing this instead. Two questions: 1. Did you only use the AC fan before you did this swap and can I get away with just the OEM AC fan for a while in cooler temps? 2. As far as tuning, I’ve had a SCT tuner before and didn’t see an option for cooling temps or I missed it. Do you know which tuner I’d need to do this mod?
Thanks!!
Hey bro by any chance you can send me the link for that e fan I’ve been trying to find one but I don’t wanna buy the wrong one because I know on the 14 and up the fan plug is a bit different from 09-12 or 13 I would really appreciate thank you.
Nice Job I do like that fan a lot better.
Thanks👍
Well after reading all the comments I think I got my answers but I'm going to double check . I have a 2018 hemi 5.7 ram 1500 and this will fit right in?
and if I want to adjust the temp I can use my Diablo tune? And the fan on the water pump what thread is it?
Thanks in advance
Did you notice after you installed the v6 electric fan that it was louder then the stock v8 electric fan?
No sound about the same to me
I have the clutch fan in my 2015 ram 5.7 with no tune. Any thing particular I need to do before adding this fan? Shutter delete or new Thermostat required or is it just a drop in fan?
Fan will drop in place of factory fan
I have 2011 5.7 2500 with clutch fan this need tune?
No tune but you can adjust settings with tune.
I did my water pump radiator and thermostat last night, and broke the new one this morning on the way to work. I’m having a bad day... this is the solution, and oreily auto is gonna pay. I am a mechanic, and this has never happened to me before. A goose then something let loose. From the sound I thought it was gears or something. Nope, just a fan clutch still on the pulley playing helicopter in my engine bay. Chopped the top hose, and ate the fan shroud. It better not have poked a fucking hole in my brand new rad
Damn.
I had my suspicions it was a cheap part. The aluminum looked more like bb’s pressed together than a cast part. And the pump blades were plastic. I went through the shop I work at so it a guarantee that I will get a more expensive pump for my troubles. I need truck friends.
Once that fan is installed, isn't there some programming to do, to tell the vehicle it's installed and what temperature it should kick on at?
Nope but custom tuning can adjust when it comes on
@@FrostbiteRam That's what I thought. I heard the AC fan not only comes on with the AC, but will provide additional cooling once the engine temperature hits 220 degrees. If that's the only fan, it should probably be kicking in around 200.

Thats correct its for the v6 rams but it does fit the v8 also. The v6 fan has larger fan.
I’m running the Diablo 93 tune. If I do the fan mod do I need to adjust the fan temp with the tuner? It’s just a daily driver truck no towing.

Is it true you need to tune it to get the correct operación temperature??
It should be fine as a replacement.
Did u put in a 180 tstat

Ty now I know what to do for mines
I just got a V6 fan, 190° T'stat (no need for 180 in upstate N.Y.) couple new hoses a neck and an all aluminum rad. Truck has just under 70K and every winter when outside temps drop into teens the stock rad pees coolant all over and I spend all winter pouring more in the res tank.
I haven't lokked into it yet but it looks like the tabs that help secure the V6 fan are part of the stock rad plastic tank molding as there aren't any on the aluminum rad, obviously. Will the rest of the mounting points be sufficient to secure the V6 unit or will I need to break out some Gorilla tape to supplement?
Also, I have a Superchips f5 tuner. I run the 93 tune with MDS off, and I'm wondering if anyone knows what the "stock value" and the "superchips value" temp settings are in the tuner. They also include a 180 and 190 setting, but the other two don't reference a temp number so they're kinda pointless and I can't get the guys ay superchips to tell me what they are. Apparently it's fine sort of matter of national security to reveal to the customer what the actual temp settings are for some reason.
Your input appreciated.

No it doesn't have to be tuned
dose this swap requires any flashing? Or is that just if your putting in a thermostat to make the truck run cooler?
Don't need any tunes to use this fan.
The fan will come on when the AC is on or once the coolant hits 200f on stock tuning as on the V8s the stock fan is supplementary to the clutch fan.

The fan is a direct drop in dont have to change anything els
I'm curious as to what I need to do about the '05 I have. Get a v-6 electric fan for that year? How would I hook it up since I currently have a clutch fan?
You could remove the clutch fan and install a aftermarket electric fan pretty easily
@@FrostbiteRam what does the electric fan hook to to turn on though as far as the connection for the fan motor? I'm assuming the electric fan bolts up the same way as the fan shroud? What about the washer fluid/coolant recovery tank? Does it mount the same way on shroud for the electric fan?
Frostbite Ram I have two questions for you. One should I pay off by truck before building it? Two should I build my 2019 ram 1500 single cab truck into a badass race truck or build for off road? Ps if anyone else want to answer too. I do want to know what Frostbite thinks about it tho.
