Programming is all about computational thinking, and I always tell my students that the first two principles they need to appreciate are: 1. the method is more important than the result - i.e. think about how you draw a polygon, not what it looks like. If you're drawing, say, a square, then you'll draw a side at a time and turn 90 degrees between them. You could do that without repeating, but that won't help you with... 2. generalise where possible - i.e. if someone asks you to draw a square, you should immediately think "Well, if I can draw a square then I can draw any regular polygon!" The benefit of using repeat is that you can repeat a variable number of times.
That's not something I've ever done as I'm a Computing teacher and am more interested in programming techniques. You might want to look at discussions like this: scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/170378/?page=1#post-1633622
I also use the on-line version, but a new version was launched in January. In the new version the Pen section has to be added as an "extension" by clicking on the blue area at the very bottom-left of the screen.
I'm not sure that you can - remember that Scratch is a beginner's programming environment, rather than a drawing application. If you find a way, then do come back and tell us.
You can't use the same approach for a rectangle, rhombus, parallelogram, etc., because it only works where all sides and angles are the same. For other shapes you need to think about what would be repeated, and how many times? In the case of a rectangle a pair of sides (a shorter one and a longer one) would be repeated - see if you can work out how to do it.
It's Scratch 2, so it's the previous version, but everything in the videos works in exactly the same way. The only slight difference is that the pen controls are in their own section, which you have to add using the button at the bottom-left.

Thank you so much❤❤😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😊😊😊😊😊😊
O you are very good teacher
🎉🎉🎉🎉
You have helped me very much for my exam👌👌👌
Thank you this really is going to help me in exams because our computer sir doesn't teach us like that
Thanks for the video because i got a idea how to draw hexagon
Thanks for knowing me the process that how a shape come in scratch
U JUST EXPLAINED THINGS LIKE MY TEACHER DOES
It really helped me a lot in my test and I got full marks ..Thanks a lot..
Thank you so so much! You 're a very good teacher!
This really cracks me up !
Thanks now I can write the exam:)
U HELPED ALOT
Interesting would be to also add star polygons!

Good morning sir, this code is not possible without repeat? Using my block

It really helped me in my practical exam
how would i fill in the shapes using myblocks?

Nice video..
How would you draw a square inside a square my it teacher gave me loads of work with scratch
I'd probably create a block that draws a square, with an argument for the size - I've done another videos on blocks.
i dont have scratch so i did it online but in that the option of "pen" is not there. so i m not getting ''clear''... what to do

Thnx so much u saved me my practical to.morow
Thanks!
thank you very very much
thanks a lot
Im really happy ..Thanks a lot
Nice
how to save a shape while u are drawing another one

soo nice complete
How to make a figure and make that same figure 6 times
You need to watch the Blocks video!
Can you show link?
Please give rectangle also

this scratch is so freaking old

awesome :))
Does anybody know how to draw traingle inside polygon
I've you've watched the video, then you do!
Where i dont see traingle inside the polygon its for my it assesment and i suck at this

thanks omg omg u are the best my it teacher sent link it hlep yes ok okokok
how to set a size for the shape???
RUclipsManiaque Did you watch the whole video? That's discussed towards the end. To change the size, you need to adjust the distances you move.
Thank you sir
how do you draw an arrow?
Computer Science is all about thinking about how things work. What is an arrow? What does it look like? How would you draw one with a pencil?
yes I have finals tomorrow thnx a lot
How do u draw a octagon?
Did you watch the whole video? It tells you how to draw any regular polygon.
Omg TYSM i have got an A
