🐥 Bird in Hand
Dir. Nick Beardslee
www.nickbeards...
A short film as structurally perfect as a New Yorker Magazine short story, and possessing that same blend of literary quality married to contemporary urban themes, Bird in Hand is a revelation to me-a sexy, playful, queer story where the queerness is taken for granted in order to prioritize other elements. At a tight 13min, Brooklyn filmmaker Nick Beardslee has crafted a real delight, economically establishing the world and the context of his characters before colliding them in a tense will-he-or-won’t-he romantic drama adorned with modest mystery elements. The stakes are ultimately low, but the characters are authentic, and the plot keeps you guessing until the end. Sophisticated and satisfyingly self-contained, it would not be out of place within a prestige TV anthology series and is one of my faves of the year so far.- S/W Curator, Jason Sondhi

I have to admit, I was so annoyed by the disrespect and the entitlement the thief exhibited, until I almost stopped midway. Glad I stuck it out, and witnessed his comeuppance. I really appreciated the strategic way the other guy led him on to invite him over to his apt, then retrieve his necklace. Narcissists don’t care if they hurt other people’s feelings… they craft everything to revolve around them… and then justify whatever they need to for their own insatiable ego’s.
Yes. Karma, mercy, and the choice of self-redemption are real. Great movie - brief and COMPLETE.
Watched it just because of the thumbnail but I'm glad I did.
Me too.
😅
That's how we hook you!
There is a moral to this story - do not steal.
Things. Do not steal things. Hearts are allowed.
An original story. Decent writing and acting. No coming out or coming of age. I'm pleased. 👍
I'm ready to see the next episode. I feel like there was to more to see. I wanted to know more about the thief.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. 😁
Great story...and well done!!
nice story, and well directed, but what carries this is the performance of the guy who's necklace was taken. My guess it that it is Jack Shay, the third male voice to speak, and the third name on the credits. He is asked to command a scene and he does
INDEED! Acting is superlative.
This reminds me of a so called friend I had, I went outside to do yard work he supposed been taking a nap when I look out front his car was gone I went inside my house he had ramshack by house stole lots of my stuff, I called the police the guy had been doing this to others he pond some of the items the police promise to get my items back but I had to buy them back my self watch your so called friend's
The same here. I used to date a guy for sex who was stealing money from me. Many go through it
😊

Excellent story. I like there is a chance of redemption.
Muchas veces creemos que nuestros actos no tienen consecuencias y nos damos cuenta cuando es demasiado tarde 😢

Such a nice short film. Thank you for making this.
So he recovers his mom's necklace but then leaves his jacket behind. Hope it didn't have his keys, etc.
Daniel is a very selfish guy; he doesn't think how his actions affect others. But it's good someone finally gave him a taste of his own medicine, so to speak.
Something like that happened to me before; this guy I'd hooked up with several times just decided to steal my college ring. We met up a few years later and he apologized for taking it, but said someone stole the ring from him.
he picks up his jacket it is just out of shot. your hook up sounds like an a**hole and you still met up with him after the fact?
@@jordanprezley2363 Really? I'll have to watch it again to see where he picked up his jacket. I don't recall seeing it in his possession when he left.
As for that hook up. I met up with him to try to retrieve my ring.
@@scarpien yea i think just after he drops the pocket knife down the other guys underwear he reaches for something else i can only imagine is the jacket. Its not shown within the frame is all.
Im sorry about your ring and i hope the guy responsible truely feels like a bag of sh*t for taking it.
@@jordanprezley2363 Thanks. Trust me. If he had the ring on him at the time of our meeting you better believe I was getting it back.
i dont get why people that steal what entitled you to people stuff that they work hard or what ever to get your a loser if you a thief
The men are so cute and handsome ❤❤❤❤
Pensei que ele pegou o canivete pra matar o outro
Good to see that someone has tried to resolve the mystery forever, and discussed openly with the guy. Otherwise, the mystery usually continues, so that someone can run the show, may it be for transgender agenda, or any other agenda.
Presenting a different view on issues faced in the community.
One question: Do we want to foster a culture of hostility where gays are portrayed in bad light to be able to exploit them sexually. There are also shorts on RUclips, such as “Not me” which throw light on such issues.
To be honest, there can be a number of gays within the community worldwide who are ostracized, abandoned. It may be much easier to make them appear as thieves. Do we want to help them or let someone exploit them as strippers or sex workers?
Also, how many of us are non-vegetarian, who sometimes eat crabs, thrown alive in boiling water, even seen chickens, to loosen and ease removal of their feathers. How many threw a stone in the pond at the frogs, or chased a dog?
If we start spreading hatred for such things, then most people in the world may appear evil. Instead, maybe we can decide to forgive people, counsel and support to overcome the immature past and give a chance to our community people to turn into kind and loving humans.
Also, why did someone dislike when women were questioned if they want to follow the old tradition and stand against gay rights. Because if so, then might as well lets bring back all the old oppressive traditions which were imposed on them earlier. Overhere, giving the taste of their own medicine was used in a different context.
If the women in my country were so kind (so called dayamayi, karunamayi istri) then there was no need to run a show on someone's life to raise funds/promote trangender lifestyle, to build toilets. The same toilets used by women can also be used by trasgender women. Clarification (found necessary): There may be a risk though in unsafe zones/countries, wherein a perpetrator may disguise by cross dressing. To curb such issues, maybe transgender ID cards or such measures can be implemented. How to work it out is another topic, the main thing is acceptance.
Transperant, open, two way communication, oftentimes help resolve the mystery and misunderstandings, but only if someone really wants to resolve.
When he picked up the knife and opened it, I cringed, knowing he was going to slice him open. Glad I didn't watch this at night before going to bed. Good film -- don't trust everyone.
And how could he possibly know where the other guy lived? Address carved on the bird?
E BOM E OTIMO E ESPECIAL E GRATIFICANTE E SIMPLISMENTE GOSTOSO DE SE VER OBRIGADA❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉
Very nice short.✌🏾
That guy Daniel reminds me of a guy i went with 24 years he stole my watch a couple months later i saw him with hes friends he saw me but looked embarrassed i just walk past smile having coffee he got pissed off he leave but a week later i bumb into his friend i spoke to we end having coffee than i said that u with he said hes a friend a friend of a friend i said be careful because he stole my watch but i didn't wanted to say anything until i am 100% he understand because some thing went from his friends house to two months later they catch him stealing from a friend house so the group attack him and kick him out the guy told a week later because they didn't know who was stealing from them

Very near is the return of Jesus Christ the only Savior
And this is eternal life: that they may know the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. John 17:3 So those who gladly received his word were baptized; and on that day nearly three thousand souls were added. Acts 2:41
Such nonsense!
