I think this pack is one of the strongest yet. Concavenator, Gigantoraptor, and Utahraptor are all beautifully rendered into the game: in terms of design, animation, and sound work. And now addressing the Tarbosaurus in the room; our spiked friend has, despite the less than stellar design, grown on me a little.
Gonna be honest, everytime I see the utharaptor human kill. It always looks like the utha is just stunned that it's actually managed to knock over someone. Like it moves its head in a way that it reads as " oh shit that worked??"
My own ranking of the species in this pack: 1. Utahraptor. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this model is one of, if not the best reconstructions of this animal ever. 2. Concavenator. Another gorgeous reconstruction of the animal, arguably tied with Utahraptor. I just find Utahraptor a bit more charming. 3. Gigantoraptor. It's a good model but I feel like there's something off about its fingers that I'm not sure how to describe. 4. Tarbosaurus. Frontier did their best with what they were given.
The Concavenator and Utahraptor really are absolutely fantastic. Personally I am absolutely in love with the Utahraptor -- the feathers, the colorations, the animations.... Seeing such a beautiful creature brought to life is just so satisfying.
Surprised me when you ranked Tarbo over T Rex. It’s probably my nostalgia and love for the animal, but T Rex although may come off as basic looking, I just LOVE the look of it. It’s a movie monster whilst also retaining the idea that it’s also just an animal
Utahraptor is my favorite in the game. I don't have them all listed in a rank like you do so the others compared to each other would be: Gigantoraptor, Tarbosaurus and Conavenator. The last one is defiantly personal bias.
Here's my ranking: Tarbosaurus is easily the weakest. Its skins aren't really my favorite, they follow that typical splotchiness that Frontier really likes, and I wish it just wasn't in the game. It's just a spiky, bulkier T. rex. With that said, the animations absolutely carry it. It's rolling and human kill are among my favorites of any large carnivore. Honestly the longer time goes on the more it grows on me. I'm so glad Frontier made a new Concavenator model instead of using the ugly statue from Fallen Kingdom. It's skin colors are fantastic, even with the blank pattern. Its sounds are really cool, and combined with its amazing social and human kill give it a fiesty personality. It's just nice to have this unique theropod in the game now. Gigantoraptor is one of the most unique dinosaurs ever, and this game captured that perfectly. It feels completely different from the Deinocheirus and Therizinosaurus with its animations and colors. Seriously, that blue one is beautiful and reminds me of the Corythoraptor from Prehistoric Planet. Back to the animations, it's inspired how it just kicks the large theropods to death, like a secretary bird. Would it have been nice if it hunted smaller animals? Yeah. But that honestly doesn't bug me much. The fact that it's in the game is more than enough for me. Utahraptor is everything I could've wanted from an Evo 2 dromaeosaur and then some. It's fully feathered, even down the second finger (suck it, Pyroraptor). It's colors are gorgeous, especially qilian mountain, and they make it look like a gigantic eagle, which is how I imagine dromaeosaurs looked. Its human kill is easily one of the best in the game. It's so cool and proves feathered dromaeosaurs can be scary. I do wish it could hunt larger herbivores though. If the Dilophosaurus can take down sauropods, then why not the biggest raptor of all time? But honestly it's basically perfect as is. It's fighting hard with Jeholopterus for my favorite animal in this game. The free update is also awesome. Automatic hatcheries are finally a thing. But the main thing is obviously the benches and bins! We finally got them! It's a bit upsetting that guests can't use them, but the fact that they're there is still a dream come true. Overall I'd call this the second best dlc right behind the feathered species pack, and the best free update.
1) Yes the game could use new species. We still don’t have a crocodilian. 2) Utahraptor gets no negative points for essentially copying the sounds of the velociraptor?

I personally can't rate the Utah above the Concavenator, just not as unique of a creature even if it has the highest quality model in game. Silhouette matters a lot to me and Utah irl shares somewhat similar biology to a lot of raptors, just a bigger size with some minor differences on average. The human kill animation for me personally isn't really that impressive, it's fun but I don't think it shoots that far ahead of what we currently have, I'll chock that up to recency bias because there's some real gems people forget about.

Micro sure, I'm not at all bothered by Smilodon and Spinoceratops not being in the game. I'm just saying I don't think it's the priority for the game to be better

I'd say the animations are the Tarbo's strongest point, and that it looks better than it does in CC.

I'm not sure why Utahraptor has a small sickle claw in this game, when in real life the claw would be a little over a foot long.

I think the Gigantoraptor does kinda hunt, I had one and it fought, killed, and ate one of my wuerhosaurus.
