It's completely insane that here we are years later, with multiple Xenoblade games spanning a vast universe and enormous emotional impact, looking at trailers and getting hype again. Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever expected Xenoblade to survive beyond the 1st game. Thank you so much Monolith Soft.
Don't want to break the dream but Reggie Fils-Aimé (former CEO of Nintendo America) revealed that Project Rain Drop actually never had any impact on Nintendo's decision to release the game outside of Japan. I think it's fair for people to know even though I know that sounds like a beautiful story. At least that showed the fans' dedication for this game and now series. We can easily see now after all those years that this fan project was more than justified.
That moment when Rex said "I like your attitude" and "I'll show 'em a thing or three" while using the exact same pose when he awakend Pyra/Pneuma for the first time.......yeah, it got me good. Bravo Monolith Soft and Nintendo. Can I just say that.....I can't wait to play this DLC!!! I am so happy right now.
Wasn't expecting the dlc to come this soon. I screamed when I saw Shulk and Rex. Looks like even Z will be fighting Alvis with Shulk and Rex. Shulk looks very handsome with long hair. Though seeing both Shulk and Rex's injured states hit me hard. Shulk lost an arm while Rex lost an eye. Judging by Nikol's (the blonde kid) appearance. He could be Shulk and Fiora's son.
It seems my days since XC3's launch of being a Z fan will finally pay off I was so hyped when i saw him on this trailer, especially because apparently Alvis is the God of Moebius
I am a bit sad the theory about Nikol and Glimmer(or who we would later learn are Nikol and Glimmer) being new iterations of Klaus and Galea didn't pan out, but the prospect of this being the case definitely makes it so I'm not too torn up about it
To think this series was being pushed and forgotten by SquareEnix and the creators couldn't handle that after the release of Xenogears and they went off and did their own thing. Look at them now. If only SquareEnix gave them the time of day and didn't cancel their projects for that stupid Final Fantasy film Spirits within.
Yeah, Square Enix at that time only cared about FF and nothing else. Because FF = money. And that's still true today. Honestly, I don't know how many people will agree with me, but I honestly feel like Xenoblade is better than Final Fantasy.

I love seeing the parallels between Shulk/Rex and Dunban/Zeke in their new designs. It’s really cool to see how they each took after their “big brother” figure from the main game. Whether we see Dunban or Zeke in this DLC or not, it’s nice to see their legacy and influence on the main characters being recognized, even subtly.
This is it. The culmination of (years of training) 3 massive stories and 2 extra games has led to this ambitious multiversal tale that will likely conclude the franchise’s overarching story, at least for a good while. Xenochads, we RISE!
I mean, it’s 9pm on a Tuesday, I finally beat Xeno 3 like 2 weeks ago after 200+ hours, and bam, I get to finish the series fully before Zelda drops. The release date of this DLC is soooo perfect.

Like Shulk look way older and Rex lose his left eyes like a statue of Past stories. Maybe this is free Vol 3.5 DLC that telling about the past life ? and Vol 4 DLC is about future ?

OK but Shulk looking like Dunban and Dickson and Rex looking like Vandham and Zeke are EVERYTHING. Literally the people they looked up to. AND THEIR KIDS!!! Nikol looks like a mini-Shulk! And Glimmer is a mini-Pyra/Pneuma! Everything is for the future connected! I hope there’s a tie-in to the ending/epilogue of the original game! I need answers!!!!
To me, Shulk bares his resemblance to Claus/Zanza (due to his connection with him in the first game [Im not gonna spoil more than that here]). Rex bares a lot of resemblance to Vandham, Zeke maybe, but to Malos (Logos) as well. For Rex, look at his Posture and Hairstyle. Very reminiscent of Malos, maybe out of respect for someone who could have been saved.
@@DnVFMVs it’s just an assumption so far. If you look at Nikol in the trailer, he resembles Shulk and Fiora very well and loves tinkering, as Shulk does. He even make his own weapon, like Shulk made a weapon for Reyn.
boy were you right about that tie in, so right you got a plug for TWO of the other Xenoseries by the end of FR. All that was left was the Gears connection really (although one could say Saga takes care of that...)
God, the implication that Shulk and Rex will basically come to face to face with versions of their own children that don't recognize them is going to rip my heart out.
Why wouldn't they recognize them? It seems like following the events of 1 and 2 respectively, Shulk and Rex just lived their lives normally with Fiora and Pyra. And Mythra. And Nia Jesus Rex you madman. And then they all had children. After that is when the worlds started to come together and that's where 3 picks up.
@B-Bum It only says that Ortiz (Nikol) and Rhodes (Glimmer). It doesn't say that Rex and Shulk were part of the flame clock system, only that the statues are of them instead of the true founders they mentored.

Seeing Shulk and Rex getting along together both becoming adults. Now since they’d met in the second game they’d get to see each other aging. Can’t wait to do more playthrough’s of it, and look forward to the release on April 25th.
Their meeting in the 2 challenge mode isn't canon just like Elma from X also appearing in the game's challenge mode and KOS-MOS from Xenosaga isn't. Those were all fanservice. The Intersection at the beginning of 3's timeline is where they first meet canonically.
When they showed the Beanstalk with the artifices fighting & Klaus initiating the sequence that created both XC1 & 2 worlds that sent a shiver down my spine, knowing how far each world has gone to be reunited as 1 in XC3
Let me guess: Shulk Future Redeemed a password for the Wi-Fi from Rex who showed him a thing or three. After a while, Shulk then Future Connected to the Wi-Fi and thanked Rex. Rex then told Shulk that he likes his attitude. As for Noah... ...Noah didn't Noahnything about this sort of thing. When he was asked by Shulk if he knew the password, Noah responded with... "No...ah, I don't know. I've been on Mi-own and away from Wi-Fi this month." The end :]
My plans for what to play before Tears of the Kingdom just changed, holy crap, so much shown yet so little to go off of. Can't wait to sink more time into this game and see this story play out

Same! I just finished XC3 a few weeks ago including the post game stuff too and haven't really played my Switch since then. I wasn't gonna play again til ToTK released and my Collector's edition isn't arriving til May 16th anyway so this is almost perfect timing. Although I do wish it was released at the beginning of April cos some people might skip it to buy Zelda instead if they haven't gotten the DLC pack already.

@@pilot_aki Given that Glimmer is obviously Pyra's daughter, I'd be very surprised if he wasn't. Given the implication that both characters go on to become 80, it'd be fitting for the children of the previous main characters.
Throughout the trailer, Shulk is consistently shown to share a good amount of similarities with Dunban(role as a defender mirroring Dunban's defensive playstyle in 1, hair length similar to Dunban and most importantly, losing the use of the same arm as Dunban, even if Shulk at least gets a prosthetic). I think these similarities are very deliberate, meant to show that Shulk has matured into a more mentorial role than his last game.
Xenoblade is one of the few jrpg series that holds up (or even surpasses) the golden days of JRPGs, thank you Nintendo for supporting them and their amazing talent!
I'd disagree. I've played many late 90s rpgs which are what people consider the "golden days" and they aren't as good as people remember. Xenoblade is definitely much better.
I've been really enjoying JRPGS again lately. Xenoblade Chronicles and Tales of Arise have been amazing. I want to give an Octopath Traveler game a try as well.
I'd argue he's tied with Z's voice actor, Harry Lloyd. While I only know him from the first season of Game Thrones (and apparently he's in Arcane too, never watched it), he was so good and captivating as the exiled Prince Viserys to the point where he kind of overshadowed Emilia Clarke. Although due to Z being very quiet and not having many lines like Malos or Jin, he's sadly not as memorable and interesting in terms of performance, which sucks since Lloyd could've given something on par with Howden if given the chance.

I guess Shulk is the one with “foreseeing eyes”. If the second verse was for Rex, “the stare of your fearful-looking eyes” may refer to when Pyra was taken by Jin. Now, I’m afraid we might lose Glimmer by the end of the game, and I won’t be able to emotionally survive if that happens.
This was without a doubt, one of the BEST trailers I’ve seen. Next week we’re getting peak fiction, Shulk & Rex together, new amazing characters, and so much more! I cannot wait for next week to come, this campaign is gonna be amazing.
Xenoblade Chronicles is one of those rare games that I can beat and replay, they’re such amazing games. This DLC has me so excited to see more of Shulk and Rex!
Xeno 3 was the real GOTY winner in my eyes and I cannot wait for this new story expansion. Monolith Soft are my current fav development team that never misses ❤

I’m so happy we finally got more news on XC3’s Story DLC! I think we finally got a look at Pyra and Rex’s child and I’m so happy to see Rex and Shulk back older! I hope we can find Pyra, Mythra, and her child in this DLC as well! The new characters look great and i can’t wait to discover what is going on with Alvis and Z! THE FUTURE WILL BE REDEEMED NEXT WEEK!
So glad they decided to release this sooner rather than later. I was kinda worried that this would've been overshadowed by the hype that Tears of the Kingdom has (obviously I'm hyped for the game myself). This is probably going to emotionally break me like Torna, the Golden Country did.
I was expecting to have to shelve Xeno 3 for a few months to play Zelda, but now I get to finish my favorite trilogy of all time right before TotK comes out. Just glorious.
I usually don’t cry at games but man…Torna got me there. If I wasn’t at work (given my job as a lifeguard I actually do need to have clear vision) I would’ve let it all out.

Man this was the most unexpected gift i could ever get man I had a terrible week due to being very anxious and afraid of the future (literally wanting to pull a Moebius if i could lol), and now suddenly i'm extremely hyped over this. Glimmer is nearly definitely Pyra's daughter with the Pneuma core. A appears to be Nia's daughter with the Ontos core. That means that Mythra's child would have the Logos core. So watch out for someone with a lavender crystal. Could this child have also turned against the family and end up the antagonist?

I was not expecting this at all and assumed that this was going to release later this year! Seeing Shulk and Rex side by side makes me very happy! Nikol and Glimmer seems to be Shulk and Rex kids respectively. I am so excited for next week!

@@darrenmacqueen9884 the original expansion pass schedule when XC3 released stated holidays 2023 if not mistaken (this was the last "Story DLC"). Edit: it still is 31st of December on the Nintendo store page for the Expansion pass. They probably hurried up as the pandemic settled last year.

Monolith Soft is going all out this time. Finally putting a climax to the Klaus era. I have never felt more deeply to any stories lore than Xenoblade’s and I’ll never forget the hype and excitement that this series inspired me. I’ve actually had to stop finishing college work, went to lie down on my bed, and just let all of these connections, references, and events sink in. I’m absolutely speechless right now.

1:02 Omg he said the thing. And not just once, twice! Monolithsoft never misses with their releases. So many things are going on in 3 minutes. Nikol bears a striking resemblance to Shulk as does Glimmer to Rex. They both share abilities respective to their games like Nikol using a mechonic-like power frame and Glimmer having a core crystal similar to the Aegis. Maybe they are Shulk and Rex’s kids or something 😮. And A looks like Elma or at least could be a descendant of her. This DLC feels more hype then Torna since it ties in multiple games within the series and the story feels more grander. I cannot be more excited. I’m so curious to see how they tie in everything and maybe get a slightly more in depth story about N’s past. Monolithsoft is the goat of Nintendo studios. Excited for this and any project coming out of this amazing studio.

They did disappoint by not showing Mythra and Pyra whereabouts in base game though, in this game that might very well be standalone at least might be shown as Glimmer seems to be their daughter with Rex

I just played through xenogears and xenosaga. I want to know more about what the Zohar is. No matter how much we see it we still know almost nothing about it.
That's what made 3 feel odd. For a game designed to be the climax of a trilogy, it didn't feel like it wrapped the overall connection between them all. Klaus's experiment. The event that started it all. 3 is otherwise my favourite entry but it was definitely weak as a climax. Assuming future redeemed ties up these loose ends then I will be satisfied fully. We're certainly off to a good start at seeing a glimpse of it in the trailer.
I think Al Weaver is back and he even said the iconic line! I wonder if the people with the Aegis core accessories are related to him, but we shall find out soon! The music is amazing so far and I can’t wait to discover what is happening here!

It's not a full-on expansion like Torna was though, based on the price of the Xenoblade 3 pass being the same as the price of Torna, 3 new Heroes and their missions already being part of that pass, and the name being a callback to Xenoblade 1's Future Connected, I have a feeling this will be somewhere between FC and Torna in terms of length and scope. So unless Nintendo and Monolith plan to cut out just enough of Xenoblade 3 to run Future Redeemed and then put it on a cartridge, not gonna happen. It's much more likely we'll see a Xenoblade 3 Definitive Edition in 2024 or later this year, though hopefully it'll be on Nintendo's next system so it can take advantage of any additional processing power and hardware features that next system might have.
The only reason I held off buying the digital expansion pass at launch😢 if there isn't a physical version I'd be so mad for wasting all this time waiting
@@DinoCam1795 While I do think it's likely, until it's confirmed we can't know for certain. Alexandria also has a green core crystal and that is never brought up in the base game.
I didn't expect this so soon. I am totally hyped. With the amount of care and effort that was put in the other games and the DLC, I know this will not disappoint.

As excited as I am to see Rex and shulk one last time before the end of the trilogy I hope we get to see the rest of the old gang even if they don’t play a vital story role, zeke, reyn, dunban, morag, especially pyra and mythra
Same here, I was hoping they would appear in the trailer, but at least let them show up some. I feel like Nia and Melia are a guarantee, seeing as 3's plot, as well as Poppi due to the ending of 3, but please we need the whole reunion
I get the feeling that they can real ease this so early cus most of the side quests NPC a will be slightly changed returning characters, the assets are xc1 and xc2 land masses , the combat is adapted archiate gaunlets and I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the bosses are slightly modified existing assets.

Stoked doesn't even begin to describe how much I've been anticipating this. If it's even half the expansion Torna was then it's well worth the price. TotK around the corner too and right after a Prime remaster. Nintendo are killing it lately!
I'd recommend not starting with this one, it spoils all games and DLC. I'd recommend starting with the first one but they can be played in any order. Torna should be played after xenoblade 2, future connected should be played after xenoblade 1 and future redeemed should be played after all 3.

I think it's fair for people to know even though I know that sounds like a beautiful story. At least that showed the fans' dedication for this game and now series. We can easily see now after all those years that this fan project was more than justified.
That moment when Rex said "I like your attitude" and "I'll show 'em a thing or three" while using the exact same pose when he awakend Pyra/Pneuma for the first time.......yeah, it got me good. Bravo Monolith Soft and Nintendo. Can I just say that.....I can't wait to play this DLC!!! I am so happy right now.

Wasn't expecting the dlc to come this soon. I screamed when I saw Shulk and Rex. Looks like even Z will be fighting Alvis with Shulk and Rex. Shulk looks very handsome with long hair. Though seeing both Shulk and Rex's injured states hit me hard. Shulk lost an arm while Rex lost an eye. Judging by Nikol's (the blonde kid) appearance. He could be Shulk and Fiora's son.

To think this series was being pushed and forgotten by SquareEnix and the creators couldn't handle that after the release of Xenogears and they went off and did their own thing. Look at them now. I love seeing the parallels between Shulk/Rex and Dunban/Zeke in their new designs. It’s really cool to see how they each took after their “big brother” figure from the main game. Whether we see Dunban or Zeke in this DLC or not, it’s nice to see their legacy and influence on the main characters being recognized, even subtly.
They even lost an eye and a arm respectively

To me, Shulk bares his resemblance to Claus/Zanza (due to his connection with him in the first game [Im not gonna spoil more than that here]). Rex bares a lot of resemblance to Vandham, Zeke maybe, but to Malos (Logos) as well. For Rex, look at his Posture and Hairstyle. Very reminiscent of Malos, maybe out of respect for someone who could have been saved.

And Nia Jesus Rex you madman. And then they all had children. After that is when the worlds started to come together and that's where 3 picks up.

Their meeting in the 2 challenge mode isn't canon just like Elma from X also appearing in the game's challenge mode and KOS-MOS from Xenosaga isn't. Those were all fanservice. The Intersection at the beginning of 3's timeline is where they first meet canonically.

Same! I just finished XC3 a few weeks ago including the post game stuff too and haven't really played my Switch since then. I wasn't gonna play again til ToTK released and my Collector's edition isn't arriving til May 16th anyway so this is almost perfect timing. Throughout the trailer, Shulk is consistently shown to share a good amount of similarities with Dunban(role as a defender mirroring Dunban's defensive playstyle in 1, hair length similar to Dunban and most importantly, losing the use of the same arm as Dunban, even if Shulk at least gets a prosthetic). I think these similarities are very deliberate, meant to show that Shulk has matured into a more mentorial role than his last game.

I'd argue he's tied with Z's voice actor, Harry Lloyd. While I only know him from the first season of Game Thrones (and apparently he's in Arcane too, never watched it), he was so good and captivating as the exiled Prince Viserys to the point where he kind of overshadowed Emilia Clarke.
Although due to Z being very quiet and not having many lines like Malos or Jin, he's sadly not as memorable and interesting in terms of performance, which sucks since Lloyd could've given something on par with Howden if given the chance.

I’m so happy we finally got more news on XC3’s Story DLC! I think we finally got a look at Pyra and Rex’s child and I’m so happy to see Rex and Shulk back older! I hope we can find Pyra, Mythra, and her child in this DLC as well! The new characters look great and i can’t wait to discover what is going on with Alvis and Z! THE FUTURE WILL BE REDEEMED NEXT WEEK!

Glimmer is nearly definitely Pyra's daughter with the Pneuma core. A appears to be Nia's daughter with the Ontos core. That means that Mythra's child would have the Logos core. So watch out for someone with a lavender crystal. Could this child have also turned against the family and end up the antagonist?

I have never felt more deeply to any stories lore than Xenoblade’s and I’ll never forget the hype and excitement that this series inspired me. I’ve actually had to stop finishing college work, went to lie down on my bed, and just let all of these connections, references, and events sink in. I’m absolutely speechless right now.
Do people really think this is going to be the end of this era? XC3's post-credits scene really made it seem like the story isn't over.

1:02 Omg he said the thing. And not just once, twice! Monolithsoft never misses with their releases. So many things are going on in 3 minutes. Nikol bears a striking resemblance to Shulk as does Glimmer to Rex. They both share abilities respective to their games like Nikol using a mechonic-like power frame and Glimmer having a core crystal similar to the Aegis. Maybe they are Shulk and Rex’s kids or something 😮. And A looks like Elma or at least could be a descendant of her. This DLC feels more hype then Torna since it ties in multiple games within the series and the story feels more grander. I cannot be more excited. I’m so curious to see how they tie in everything and maybe get a slightly more in depth story about N’s past.

A is most likely related to alvis in some way. She has his core crystal, hair, and has a Monado art on her sword.
Also, the motion he did with the sword, is the EXACT same thing he did when he first awakened Pyra and got her sword.
Glimmer is obviously Rex and Pyra's kid given she has Pyra's core crystal (Like Mio has Nia's), Nikol looks exactly like Shulk did as a kid, also, A is Alvis.

I just played through xenogears and xenosaga. I want to know more about what the Zohar is. No matter how much we see it we still know almost nothing about it.
That's what made 3 feel odd. For a game designed to be the climax of a trilogy, it didn't feel like it wrapped the overall connection between them all. Klaus's experiment. The event that started it all. 3 is otherwise my favourite entry but it was definitely weak as a climax. Assuming future redeemed ties up these loose ends then I will be satisfied fully. We're certainly off to a good start at seeing a glimpse of it in the trailer.

I think Al Weaver is back and he even said the iconic line! I wonder if the people with the Aegis core accessories are related to him, but we shall find out soon! The music is amazing so far and I can’t wait to discover what is happening here!

It's not a full-on expansion like Torna was though, based on the price of the Xenoblade 3 pass being the same as the price of Torna, 3 new Heroes and their missions already being part of that pass, and the name being a callback to Xenoblade 1's Future Connected, I have a feeling this will be somewhere between FC and Torna in terms of length and scope. So unless Nintendo and Monolith plan to cut out just enough of Xenoblade 3 to run Future Redeemed and then put it on a cartridge, not gonna happen.
It's much more likely we'll see a Xenoblade 3 Definitive Edition in 2024 or later this year, though hopefully it'll be on Nintendo's next system so it can take advantage of any additional processing power and hardware features that next system might have.

Same here, I was hoping they would appear in the trailer, but at least let them show up some. I feel like Nia and Melia are a guarantee, seeing as 3's plot, as well as Poppi due to the ending of 3, but please we need the whole reunion
I get the feeling that they can real ease this so early cus most of the side quests NPC a will be slightly changed returning characters, the assets are xc1 and xc2 land masses , the combat is adapted archiate gaunlets and I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the bosses are slightly modified existing assets.
I'm hoping that they can return as heroes but I fee like they'll get quests or cameos at the very least

I'd recommend not starting with this one, it spoils all games and DLC. I'd recommend starting with the first one but they can be played in any order. Torna should be played after xenoblade 2, future connected should be played after xenoblade 1 and future redeemed should be played after all 3.

I'm currently 78 hours into xenoblade chronicles 3 in the middle of chapter 7. This couldn't have arrived at a better time.
