As a 90’s rave kid I love to see the resurgence of jungle and drum n bass. This mix brings back some very lucid memories at live shows, late night after parties, driving late at night windows down carefree. Well done 🙌❤️🙌

This is the best mix I've found for the style I like , someone mentioned PS1 related sounds and synths and I think thats exactly how I'll describe this specific sound. I'd love to find more like this mix. Awesome collection 💪

I can suggest a DJ called dedeco, who uploads mostly mixes with video game soundtracks in them. He made a bunch of DnB sets already, so I'm fairly certain you'd enjoy those as well.
Listening to fresh (to me) tracks of D&B makes me nostalgic for the early 90s when I first heard of this at the time new genre. The sound's so hopeful and futuristic- and I do hope it still is.
I feel the same for a similar reason. As a kid I played a lot of N64 games with jungle influenced soundtracks. The first one that comes to mind is Bomberman 64. Hearing jungle now brings me back to a feeling I'd feel when playing those games; where you're interacting with something new for the first time in a controlled setting. It might be foreign and unknown, but there is excitement and no fear in doing so, leaving a hopeful "vibe" (for a lack of a better word). There is a lot of raw optimism and energy in this kind of music that elates me.
'Astral Forest' is the perfect track to capture the mid-late 90s atmosphere. Incredibly futuristic but also minimialist. I could picture myself in the London Docklands at night with that track as a backing.
Man thank you really, keeping the lost art of ambient jungle alive.

I swear early 90s d n b sounds like so much ps1 music , like the sound effects and samples. Was it because they were all using similar equipment to produce at the time etc ?
you got it! romplers were huge in the 90s and you had a lot of people using the same ones, but also a lot of those 90s romplers just have this character to them (imo) that is very "ps1 sounding" :) some popular ones: jv-1080, korg trinity, korg wavestation, korg m1, and many more!

@@joegardiner4220Suggest you you approach it by investigating UK record labels as well as artists. Can recommend: Good Looking Records, Moving Shadow, Lucky Spin, 720 degrees, Metalheads (some), Creative Source, Dee Jay Recordings etc.
1994-6 was a particularly inspired period with lots of successful experimentation and creativity happening, before sub genres got fully established and the scene turned slightly more formulaic.
There is a contemporary book 'Rough Guide to Drum & Bass' which covers this period well and charts the landmark recordings and scene evolution.
