it feels futuristic, a future we're supposed to have but it seems way far than we think it is...just pure clean beats that takes you to a place only you can feel it
Funny to think i started getting into this DnB rabbit hole because of a video of a cat breakdancing, and now, some months later i'm addicted to this genre and genuinely like it, the more i discover of it, the more it gets more addictive. Such an incredible musical genre.
Its even better knowing how long the genre has been around. I found DnB and Jungle back in 2010 not knowing I was 20 years behind. But I'm glad I found it. And I'm glad you did too! Edit: For clarification, my childhood consisted of playing Sega Gensis, Super Nintendo, PS1&2, N64, Dreamcast, Xbox and Arcades in which where I first heard Jungle/DnB but I didnt identify what it was until my late teens/early 20s. Thats because I grew up on Hip Hop, Rap, Smooth Jazz and RnB that this sound didnt resonate with me until later. Like a hidden memory unlocked. Also thanks to Anotsu- Man On The Run for helping me rediscover it.
the antidote to the tough times let's try to do some good, say hello to good hearted people in our neighborhood, go visit our elderly in our community, help them feel less alone.. counter the disintigration in society, and the attacks on our minds by active measures, by making nice things happen in our moments and our days and building good happy communities and moments in our days, just by doing something nice like saying hello, or doing something we'd really like to do, or making things better for someone who feels they are really down by reaching out to them and saying "hey, i hope you are ok" and listening to them and making sure they know you care.. you could save a life, or help to make a lonely person in your community feel loved.. and that could save the day, in our society, and make life feel so much better for so many if we all just do that little thing.. of say hello, how are you doing.. or doing something we would love to do with our day, to lift up how WE are feeling, and be kind and good hearted to ourselves and to others when we can, or when we see we or they need that..in these tough times Best wishes to you all folks from Rolland at Castle Hassall on the edge of The Atlantic
I did a doubletake when I saw 2023 as the release year! Well done! Seeing this vibe make such a comeback in recent years has been great. We're finally in the 2020s, and our crazy world of runaway AI, gene splicing, and cyber intrigue deserves this futuristic soundtrack. The pre-millennium style of electronic music somehow manages to sound more future than anything produced today.
There’s renewed interest in this particular type of sound. That doesn’t mean it stopped. You guys gonna share the releases we missed or just talk trash?
This reminds me of the early years of 2000s. When I would pause my ps1 And my mom would call me down for lemonaid and sandwiches and it would be absotlutly beautiful outside
Quality on this upload is excellent, production on the tunes is immense. From a 47 yr old dad of two - Big Up yourselves!! I'm going to see Bukem in Brixton in a few weeks. Hoping for these vibes, but I doubt it...he'll play hard...but as we all know, LTJ can do anything :)
i like it a lot! so different from the rest.. i was playing elden ring , invading and listening to this mix. When high stakes started playing my ass stopped playing the game and started vibing and dancing. had to put audio on speakers and all.. It is bangin for sure
While I highly enjoy the resurgence (which I feel is also off, as Jungle never completely died) of Old style Jungle, I feel something needs to be done to maintain things. This style of Jungle and certain aesthetics (like the one present in the video, frutiger aero, and Y2K) are popular in "trendy" ways at the moment, but I'm old enough to have experienced all of those things and can certainly say that they can be maintained pass that. I suppose I'm just frightened to see stagnation from all matters mentioned, which is certain to happen if trying to be picture perfect to "the way things used to be" is maintained, not that they need to be drastically changed but rather enhanced through the luxuries of modern technology to prevent said stagnation. In any case, wonderful work. edit: To add to the lengthy comment of mine, of course Liquid is the progression of this proper atmospheric/intelligent sound, but along the way Liquid dnb loss a lot of lushness in the pads/synths with a quite a difference in drums as well. Come to think of it, hardstep dnb (think 95-97) isn't even really a thing anymore either.
Hey man, i've been making jungle for some time now and i'm gonna be honest I kind of agree with you. There definetly is a kind of "trendy" y2k sound about it but i'm kind of stuck in the middle. While I do love it, it definetly is trying to be something that it's not, and it's not super innovative. But there are a lot of modern jungle/dnb producers that are pushing the boundaries. I'd check out guys like Infest, FFF, Tim Reaper and Paradox. I'm personally still gonna make music with this old aesthetic because i'm too young and I never lived through those sounds, so it sounds very otherworldy and unique to me. But every once in a while I do like to experiment with something that pushes the envelope.
@@pulsarone3733 yo Pulsar, sick to hear directly from you. I started making Jungle back when I was a young teenager. Just now finally sent some demo's to Flex Recordings (an original Jungle label from way back when, dream of mine) in my 20's. I already knew about half of the guys you mentioned. Reaper and FFF are still pushing in the underground. Paradox has been around forever. I'd keep an eye on the Scientific Wax label and their radio shows. They were around before this trend, and will survive after. If anything the good of this is that we'll have more new junglists after it's not cool again, as I myself only found it from MSX FM back in the 2000s as a young kid.
Takes me back into those late night/early morning game sessions on the Sega Dreamcast/N64 when friends would come over with new games & play all weekend

Can't believe these beautiful retro tracks are still being produced in 2023. Pure joy. Many thanks to everyone involved!
how were you able to post these emojis?
I don't think all of these tracks are "new", considering I've heard some of them before in other videos from Years ago.

Do you get a cut of the bandcamp sales as a featured artist? Asking because I'd like to know who the money supports.
