Centrifugal Pump Casing was modeled in SolidWorks. The model was developed in 2010. Now I send this model in public downloading and review as like training model for other engineers.
For its construction surface and solid modeling was used. In other words, this type of modeling is called a hybrid.
In the drawings sketches were built in different sections of the model. Further, they were knited into the surface and then solid bodies created.

I have been struggling to do one of these in Inventor 18 recently. Dealing with drawings from the 1980's. Watching this has given me some fresh ideas on new approaches to correcting some of my feature creation issues. Thank you for the inspiration.

i am just starting to work with the surfaces in SW. so far i had an easy two year period where i didn't even need to use them, but things went 180 degrees :D it seems scary in the beginning, but after watching your tutorial i think that i can handle them as easily as the regular solids. good video! greetings from Bulgaria!

Hello colleague, but why not make the whole hull, then cut through the axis, and one part is recorded as Corpus1 and the other Corpus 2?
And why should work on 2D drawings?
I don't remember. The model has been done in 2009. It's 10 years passed. I have another method for building parts like that. I improved my technics with years. But actually, I don't work in pump industry anymore, only sometimes.
Hey, I am working on this model of pump. I am 3D modeling it in Inventor. I have not looked at your model in Solid Works nor I have watched this video. When I am done, I will post images. Anyway. Those drawings you provided have dims a bit off. The arc lengths are wrong and I had to decide in using radius .Any way. 3D modeling in Inventor is not like 3D modeling in Solidworks. I will let you know about my model when I am done.
I know about wrong cross-section. These section was drawed by hand. All this sketches are optimized in SolidWorks model. I don't understand the reason why you are working on it, Mr. Smith, but I would be interested to watching last result.

I will post it when I am done. Your model seems very interesting, but in Inventor, we use a different approach. I use solids I think you use surfaces and then add thickness to it.
