The CEO of Takata and all its administrators should be prosecuted for manslaughter. They knew since the late '00s that their Air Bags were not safe and could potentially kill someone, but they didn't want to take action because it would mean losing $$$ so they went on with their broken Air Bags knowing of just how dangerous it is.
Just disable the airbag until it is replaced. My car has a keylock to do just that in the glove box. Mechanics do this all the time to prevent them going off during service work.

The increase in Chinese and Japanese parts has been ridiculous. New vehicles are about 48-55 percent imported parts. So much for buying american,it's not posible anymore. Our most American made car was the Toyota camry for a while. Drive what you choose, it's up to you,I think I will build old classic cars and say screw the modern auto/recall crap that's on the rode now. Have read nothing about what you do in life but put it out there,I'm sure nasty comments can be made about you and your fellow works also. Comment like a grown up or keep b.s. to yourself. My first question is who makes the airbags and every dealer will have to have a recall guarantee of buy back on any contract I'll sign. This is what happens when you put junk in new cars. Thank god takata will no longer be in this business. Ruined car buying for life as far as I'm concerned.

airbags don't do shit if you have a seatbelt on, and ur airbag only goes off when you have seatbelt on... i have seen more people get injured by airbags then non airbag cars
Ramen Garage That is very wrong. airbags are very fucntional and work best when your wearing your seatbelt. And it isn't only steering wheel airbags that are affected. most cars these days have side and curtain airbags and these are very effective in saving lives.
