- The musical "Annie" has been delighting audiences on stage and in the movies for forty years and now for the first time, many of the women who played the iconic character have come together. Inside Edition gathered four generations of "Annies"-including Andrea McArdle the original Annie, Sarah Jessica Parker, the third Annie, and Taylor Richardson, the last Annie. The show closed in 2014 and the five original Broadway Annies are holding a reunion event in April. #InsideEdition
Sadie Sink is always overlooked in these videos. She and Taylor Richardson SHARED the part. They were both the "final Annie on Broadway."

Ginny T. They shared the role to begin with but towards the end Sadie went back to playing Duffy only and Taylor played Annie for all the shows.
She obviously couldn't make the reunion.

Quevenzhané Wallis and Aileen Quinn weren't available, hence why they paid tribute to them in the video section at the beginning.

Did you know Aileen Quinn played an orphan roll on Broadway in Annie at the same time that Sarah Jessica Parker played Annie! Then she got the title roll in 1982 in the Movie Annie and the rest is history!

The first time I saw Annie on stage in the Broadway series was in the mid 80s played by Kathleen Sisk.

Inside Edition screwed up. Where was the original Annie, Kristen Vigard? Sure Andrea made the role famous but she was not the first.

All talented ladies for sure, and many have their favorite, but 1:03 notice how everyone in the room quickly quiets down and defers to Andrea McArdle as soon as she starts answering the question. There's a reverence for Andrea in the "Annie world" (the general Broadway world, too), given she was the original Annie on Broadway and a major part of why the show was such a huge success right out of the gate. That voice with the stunning belt gracing the 1977 Original Broadway Cast Album (and a lot of TV appearances) was many people's first experience with Annie, including some of these girls who would go on to play the role. Sarah Jessica Parker touches on that during the segment. Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical, at age 13.

Aileen Quinn - I think she was an understudy for the Broadway Annie but won the part in the film. The best.
Alieen Quinn was in the Broadway version from 1979 first then she ended up auditioning for the film while doing the Broadway show.

I could see how that would have been painful for her. I still think what happened to her was horrible and I believe that when they were doing PR things for the 30th anniversary of Annie they didn't talk about the 20th one (Probably for obvious reasons, I believe even Martin hated what happened)
Joanna Pacitti was supposdd to have played Annie on B way in 1997, but she was inexplicably fired before the revival reachdd the Great White Way. I hope tha when the show returns to B'way, the producers will cast Joanna as Ms. Hannigan.
